Hoping the pics work this time guys! Only the Poly related pics from a couple weeks back. :cool1:

The pond to the right by the entrance of the Poly. A nice welcome to the resort:)

Inside of our room - I really like the lighter decor compared to prior years after the refurb

View from our balcony of the quiet pool and grounds. For a standard room, we enjoyed the view.

Overhead shot of the Club lounge. We never had any problems with seating or food shortages.

3rd floor of Hawaii in the Club lounge. A good place to eat/watch tv/ or look outside as it was almost never taken

The relaxing view of the Poly is one of my favorite things about the resort. If you look to the right, you can see all of the bungalow construction. Nonetheless, the view of the castle is unobstructed:cool1:

Taking a closer look at the bungalows toward the Contemporary

A snack given to us from the Chef. He is awesome and truly cares that the guests are enjoying his food. Another great member of the Hawaii staff.

View of the Grand walking back from the Fitness Center

Great view of the bungalow setup from the boat. This was a nice break from the crowded monorail with a cool breeze on the water!:sail:

Last day of the Volcano pool in all its glory! If only we had the pool available the entire trip it would have been perfect!

The day after. Cones start going up..

Pool is closed signs follow:mad:

And again...

Finally, I will fast-forward to Aug 2nd (our last day) where you see the pool is still filled with water and untouched...but of course blocked off. I wish they would have kept it open a bit longer if they weren't going to start on it yet.:badpc:

Upstairs in the GCH. While the construction took out the middle of the building, the walls with pictures/props were a nice touch

Excellent french press coffee. As a big coffee drinker myself, I highly recommend :surf web:

No problems with Kona Cafe!

'OHANA is still our fav restaurant on property!

Relocated Captain Cook's. This space is now gone as the real CC has opened up again!

We missed Dole Whip but at least they still had my fav quick service pizza!

Some examples of the great towel animals from our Mousekeeper

Another

One more!

Some pictures used to decorate the walls.

Future Poly! :goodvibes

Outside you can see the Polynesian sign beyond the construction fence. They did a better job with the camouflage fence

I thought it was best to end the pictures with the Water Pageant!

ENJOY!! :cool1:

Thanks for taking the time to post pictures. I am going in November and staying with my daughter and grand daughter. I've stayed at the Poly before and was wondering if I had made the right decision by rebooking during the construction. I am feeling a bit more settled about my decision.

Has anyone been contacted by Disney about the construction? I was called about the monorail, because we had an early ADR at GF, but not the construction. I have heard that WL guests are being contacted and given the option of changing resorts.

The EWP is one of my favorite Disney things:goodvibes

Thanks for posting all those great pics!!!

You're very welcome! I love it too :tigger:

Fabulous pictures!!! :goodvibes It makes me want to go back to my beloved Polynesian! We stayed there last December and loved it, but agreed to wait to stay again after the construction is finished. Now I'm rethinking it! ;)

Thanks for the beautiful pictures!

Quick question for you, friends. We have heard there will be good coffee at Kona Island as we get ready to hop on the Monorail. Is there food as well? Any idea what we might find?

Thanks everyone!

Mystery Thanks so much for the terrific pics!! :goodvibes Confirms to me that we made the right decision in not being scared off by the refurbishments and construction! :thumbsup2 DD has always wanted to stay here..and lack of availability at our fave..the GF made me decide to finally give the Poly a try....

Hey blue! And poly peeps!!!

Have to say dd and I had a great lunch at Kona on Tuesday. I asked my server if I could get the mini salad they put on the plate with the sticky wings as a side salad and to charge me whatever they wanted, I just love that salads taste.

Not only did that do it but later I noticed I was not charged:goodvibes

We love Kona for lunch. Have to say seeing outside torn up vs June I'm glad to say I'm glad we stayed when we did.

Still smelled great when you walked into lobby and I am glad we got to stop at one of our favs!!!

Hey Trish! :goodvibes Sounds like a great Kona lunch...complete with a comped salad...We have breakfast and dinner ressie here for our next trip...:thumbsup2

They have some pastries I believe. But I would recommend stopping at Cpt Cook's for Tonga Toast or other good breakfast options if you want something quick. Kona Cafe would be great if you want to sit down for a bit as it's right next to Kona Island. :yay:

Thanks for posting those pics! On our club stay we were maybe one or two rooms down from yours (based on the view), and agree, it's a really nice view for a Garden view. Also agree about the third floor of the lounge, it felt like our own private addition, since it was almost always empty!

Nice pictures! Glad to see the view from the CL still has the castle in it. We've never stayed CL at the Poly but we are thinking about it for next August and was wondering when the construction is done are the CL room categories going to change? Or are the rooms on the beach side still going to have a TPV? I'd hate to book a CL theme park view room and then find out most of the view is blocked by the bungalos.

Maybe it's to early to know if that will be the case or not, just trying to decide what we are gonna do and without seeing things in person it's such a hard decision! We've loved the Poly in the past though, so I know we will love it if we go again.

Being a total Poly newbie...and also being picky about my room location... would you recommend third floor as opposed to second floor...We also like to be close to the lounge....

Just don't tell anyone!! :rotfl: We had room 3522 :wave2:

Thanks! :goodvibes Good question - I'm not sure if they will change a lot of the room views...I'm sure someone like TikiMan could advise on that. You will definitely love it. My only concern going in was that the castle would be blocked and that wasn't a concern watsoever from the lounge. :cool1:

Hey BlueSkies! I had room 3522, which was quite nice for a garden view but a bit far down the hall from the lounge. I have stayed on lower floors before and like the 3rd floor best as you get that high view to see more scenary out the balcony (but I always like a high floor). Of course the food/drinks are on the 2nd floor, but if you request a room close to the lounge, you should only be a few steps away! :goodvibes

Those are GREAT pix! Mahalo, Mystery... :thumbsup2

BlueSkies... Last time we were at Poly, 1st fl rooms have patios & 3rd floor have balconies but many 2nd floor rooms have NEITHER...we always enjoyed the extra 'outside' space, so if that matters, I'd request 'NO 2nd floor, please'

In LOVE with the Poly since 1971 :lovestruc

:scratchin Decisions..decisions...I will be making some requests for sure!

~ Another Hawaii question...is there an internal staircase going from the 3rd floor down to the 2nd...or do you have to use the elevator...I believe that there is one between the 1st and 2nd floors....???
