Here is a sample of breakfast at CL lounge.

Here is me drinking my "special" and watching the construction from the lounge:goodvibes

It is hard to find pics without us in them but here are a few more of the grounds/beach area.

Volcano Pool

Love the old sign!

Boat watching!

AHHH!

Waiting for completion so we can try them out!

Wow quiet thread these days! :worried:We are still excited to be at the Poly in about 6 weeks despite construction! :)

We are here now and it has been great despite construction. This was crazy tho, last night we were shopping upstairs in the toy store where they have stitch toys and this Am we went up to the monarail and it was closed up. Glad we got our purchases last night we didn't realize it was shutting and the workers didn't say anything.

Thanks for checking in. The thread has been way too quiet.

Any pics?

Enjoy the rest of your trip:goodvibes

Twelve days until we check in to the Poly! So excited for vacation. I wonder if it's foolish to hope the new Captain Cook's opens while we are there.

13 Days until arrival! I have following this thread for a long time. A long time dream of mine is to stay at the Poly. The construction worried me. All of you have helped tremendously.
Thanks!

Glad you're having a good time. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the 2015 rates so I can book the Poly for next summer. Our first Poly stay was amazing and we can't wait to stay there again. Not sure if construction will still be going strong in mid-late July, but as long as the main pool is open, we will be happy. Hope you continue to have a great trip :goodvibes.

The Poly is amazing and I'm sure you will love it, even with construction :thumbsup2.

Just got back from our stay at the Poly - June 6th - 14th. Absolutely wonderful. Yes, I missed seeing the lobby, but we were not impacted by noise at all. Stayed in Tuvalu room #2404 and it was great. No balcony, but a nice view of the courtyard and if you looked a little to the right, the beach.

Hi! I posted this on another thread but no one answered....hubby and I are looking into the Poly for the last week in March/April 2015. Any idea how bad the construction will be? Is it worth it? What will still be under construction?

Thanks!

I'd check Tikiman's site for the latest info but right now I believe the worst of the construction is slated to end around March/ April next year. No one really knows how bad it will be then. I think once the feature pool reopens they will close and redo the east pool. No one can answer for you if it is worth it. We are staying at the Poly in two because we believe the other amenities of the Poly outweigh any construction concerns. Not everyone feels that way.

For these looking for a completion date, it's just hard to predict. :confused3

For GF when they were building the villas, and redoing GGG and the pool and poolside bar it seemed like the dates kept changing. They just can't predict that far in advance.

Also I remember they had problems with the added jets to the pool so they kept closing it down.

So some things will be done by March or April but you just never know what won't be finished yet.

I remember watching gf's progress and the completion dates kept changing. Look at it now? No one knows for sure until it actually happens. The pool may close 7/26 but ya never know.

Good luck planning. Keep an eye on Tikiman's sites. He usually has the news first;)

I need some guidance please. For the past 4 years, my family of three vacationed at the Poly. It's our favorite resort and I do not think my wife or daughter would allow us to stay at another Disney property.

Long story short, my wife said no more Poly until the construction was completed. My wife is now having second thoughts and is contemplating a trip for our daughters birthday. The dates would be between July 30 - Aug. 3 of this year. I've read a lot of information about the construction on here and on Tikiman's site but to be honest, I am quite confused as to what is closed now or would be during our stay.

A few posts ago, some one mentioned the Volcano pool would be open during their stay which is towards the end of July. Should I presume the Volcano will be open during my stay? Will the quite pool be open?

I understand Captain Cooks is open but moved, right?
The lobby is open but a shell of its former self, right?
Is the arcade open?
Do they still show movies at night?
Is Kona open?
You can still access the monorail, right?
Other than some longhouses closed, am I missing anything else?

Would some one be so kind to lead me to these answers so I can convince my wife that we do need to go..

Thank you in advance!

I booked the Poly for 6/11 -6/14 and then cancelled 2 weeks before our trip. We did have an ADR for 'Ohana's on 6/11. So glad I cancelled our stay there. It was very congested in the GCH. Looked like a giant brown box in the middle of the place. No ambiance and not very relaxing. Luckily, once we were seated for dinner, I forgot about the construction and dove into my Pina Colava. Oh man, was that drink good!

I was there 5/30 -6/4. GCH is open BUT waterfall is blocked off. The upper floor is now starting to close off. Traders store just closed.

The pool supposed to close 7/26 but things do change.

Arcade is gone forever.

See boards for info. Monorail is now having different hours this summer for updates.

I didn't see movies (anybody else?) but I did see fire with marshmallows.

CC's was moved and fine for us. Outside seating was still available.

Kona still open.

Read the last few pages for updates from people like me that have had a recent stay. Also go to tikimanpages.com or tikiman facebook page for best info. People are letting him know what they see when they are there.

My dd19 and I were fine with the construction. It was confined to east side so not a big deal. However no pool in August for many would be a deal breaker. Eh, I would be fine with small pool myself if I got a good rate.
