Does the temporary location have the Dole Whip machines?!?!?!
We will be there in 16 days!!!!! And that was one of the things we were MOST looking forward to!

Edited to add: Just found out - NO DOLE WHIPS! and no grown up grilled cheese sandwiches either. BOO! But they DO still have tonga toast. And pulled pork nachos.

:thumbsup2

I am so happy to say that we will be Visiting the Polynesian in 8 days for Dinner at Kona!:cool1: I've stayed there many many times,my absolute FAVORITE Resort, but this trip is a short one for SWW so we are staying at BWV. We recently bought into DVC and that is our home resort. Now, I just need to figure out a way to get DH to buy into the Poly DVC! :scratchin:lmao:

I keep missing you! We arrive 5/30.

We loved VGF and are hoping for a bungalow cash res.

Did you like VGF?

Make sure to enjoy the view of the volcano... soon it will be gone.

We just switched to CR. We consider the Poly our home away from home, but after seeing pics and getting confirmation that the volcano pool will be closed, we just couldn't justify it. It's just not the same.
The CM on the phone (and yes I know they're unreliable :)) told me that we definitely WOULD be able to use the GF pool if we stayed at Poly. Just too much hassle, even if that is true....and who knows if it's true??

I stayed here for four nights and five days in 2010. I also enjoy going to this resort when I want to get something to eat. This is a very nice resort.

I'm afraid I have to jump ship too. We got a great deal on the Wilderness Lodge. It's going to be my guys 30th birthday and I want it to be totally perfect. He's also a real mountain man, so the WL will probably be a better fit anyway. We'll still swing by Ohana this trip and will definitely book something once the whole resort is all spankin new!

I'm with you. We've decided to jump ship as well. We love the Polynesian. It's our all time favorite resort. But with all of the construction we've decided to go with the GF. I'm certain that I'll be sad when we look across the lagoon. :-(

Wow!!! SO COOL!!! We also had Daniel. We loved it!!!! What time was your shoot? I would not be surprised if we were there when you guys were!!! We had a 8:00am photo shoot on the 18th as well. How was your vacation?

It was great! Rode the Mine train this morning and waiting on ME right now...

Yes, We Will Be Sure To Enjoy The Volcano Pool For One Last Time..Our Plan Is That After Dinner At Kona, Grab A Drink At The Barefoot Pool Bar And Watch Wishes Before Heading Back To BWV. I Was Hoping That The Waterfall Wouldn't Be Covered Up For Our May Trip, But Obviously That Isn't The Case :sad1: Enjoy Your Vacation!! :wave2:

Our family is older than yours but we love to visit the other resorts too. Tambu lounge is my fav and yet I finally tried Mizners last year and loved that too.

We had 3rd floor center of lake view 2 br. Can't remember number. It was bittersweet. Dfil had just passed away in fall and dmil came to meet us with my (her)first granddaughter and only grandson.

For Xmas gift I booked my daughter and gma at tea room and spa day:)

Now that my baby girl is home from college after first year we are doing some reconnect days at poly CL!!! Dh /ds keeps teasing to crash the party but NO BOYS ALLOWED!

We may go back in August before annual passes expire 8/13. Any trips planned???

Sorry to hear about DFIL :flower3:

Tambu is by far my Fav Lounge. I also tried Mizner's last year! They have a delish Mudslide:) Awe I love the tea room & Spa Day! Sounds Amazing :) That is so nice it's just a "girls" trip!
Actually we will be back to Disney in December. That was our scheduled "BIG" family vacation. This May trip was a spring up because of the free flights that we received from our November trip. And the December trip just keeps getting better because my brother and his fiance decided to get married in Disney while we are all there!

Sounds like us. We either volunteer to be bumped off flight when available or use miles to keep going back:)

A disney wedding sounds lovely too:goodvibes

This thread is just so quiet with everyone jumping ship for WL/Cr/GF. :p

Luckily many have been posting updates on Tikiman's facebbok page:rotfl2:

I know! I feel like we will practically have the resort to ourselves since everyone is bailing out.

It is freaking me out a little because I'm concerned that I'm not concerned enough about construction.:scratchin Did that make sense? I just feel like all the positives about staying at the Poly- the location, the transportation, the large rooms for a family of five, the restaurants, the beach, the pool- will all still be there in early July. Construction in the lobby, while not beautiful, is not a deal breaker for us. I keep wondering if I should think about jumping ship but I don't see a good reason to at this point.

Anyway, I'm so excited to be there in 36 days! And if we are lucky the new Captain Cook's will open while we are there.

I'll check in when I get back and let you know what I think.

I only have a week:cool1:

We're doing a split stay at the end of August (hopefully) and only 3 nights are at the Poly. DH is very ill and has the Poly on his bucket list. He doesn't care what's going on there, he wants to cross it off his list. Works for me, but my son isn't going to be happy about the pool

It was wonderful. The construction did not phase us. We swam a couple of times but only at quiet pool. Can't wait to get back!

I noticed that when we were there as well. We could have easily stayed there had I have known but I got nervous and booked CBR instead. I have no regrets. We saved a lot of cash and still got to enjoy the Poly. We did the photo shoot on the beach by the Luau and did the character breakfast afterwards plus one other day we went to the Luau. The Poly is beautiful! we enjoyed our visit there. May be in the future we will go DVC and get one of those Bungalos over the water. Now that would be outstanding!!!!
