Oh darn. Would have loved to have gotten the chance to meet you. I seriously think you should wear your button. You never know who you will run into. I wish I still had my button. It was lost many moves ago.

Wow I just found out something by checking through the day today. It is harder to get a reservation for dinner at Ohana than it is at Rose and Crown Pub which is right on the lake for Illuminations. Well we all know the Poly only has the best of everything anyway. LOL

Yeah, Ohana is one of the hardest ADRs to get on property now, if not THE hardest. I think once Le Cellier went to two credits, Ohana was given the crown. Dining plan people see it as the best value for one credit, and Out Of Pocket people see it as the best value for their money.

I always loved Le Cellier and we went there every trip along with Ohana but their prices now are just out of control. I thought about booking it for this trip and I just couldn't justify spending that amount of money. It would have been well over 200 dollars for the 4 of us. Ohana has always been a family favorite even when we weren't staying at the Poly.

I didn't book Ohana at my 180 b/c to save money we were suppose to stay at POFQ but THAK GOD that changed.. Lol

Anyway I didn't book Ohana b/c coming to Poly & not staying would only make me pine away for it but once we switched for weeks I tried to get Ohanas and one day about 2 weeks ago a 5 pm popped up on the day I wanted it! Love having dinner at Ohana then just relaxing around the resort for rest of the night!

So hard to wait for those discounts - I'm hoping something will pop up in October!! I'm running solo, but bringing our three boys with me, and my husband will fly in the night before the PHM and just be with us for that night and race day. This will be my first half marathon ever! :cheer2: We (my husband and two teens) will run the DL 10K next month. The DL 10K is actually one of our 2012 Christmas gifts to our 13-year-old son because he's really into cross country, but now there is the added benefit of giving me a time for PHM corral placement. Have you been over on the PHM thread? Great tips and advice from runDisney vets over there!

Yay for us first time racers :dance3: I actually just started running a few months ago, so this is all very new to me. I didn't realize there was a PHM thread - going to head over and check it out - thanks :thumbsup2

I have asked for wine as early as noon. We are on vacation, right ?:rotfl:

I also have asked for wine at night before 10p when they close.

Poly was great with requests. In afternoon I was mixing half red wine with the orange punch they have. I have had zero problems with requests at CR, GF and poly Cl's.

Have a great time. The CM's will want to help you, just ask. If going outside or to room just don't take in glass/dishes. Use plastic or disposable at poly. At GF or cr if going to room ok.

Good Morning Everyone!

Could someone please elaborate on the bolded part above? We have only ever stayed CL at YC so I'm not too familiar with the Poly CL rules. At YC I knew we couldn't bring anything glass to the pool, so we always used disposable items when bringing lounge snacks / drinks down to the pool. But, if we wanted to take snacks and drinks back to our room we used regular plates and glasses. Turn-down would usually clear them away for us in the evening. Is that not allowed at the Poly? Can I only take plastic or disposable back to the room?

And, since we are on CL rules....
Can someone please tell me about clearing your table while in the lounge? At the YC, there was no place to bring dirty dishes. The CL staff always told us to just leave them on our table and they would clear them away. Is it the same at Poly?

Why am I so nervous about all this? Oh yeah....mega rule-follower here! If I ever come across a door that says "Do Not Enter" you better bet that someone would have to drag my dead body through that door! Feel free to analyze me.... :rolleyes1

Less than one week now! Last week it hovered around 100 degrees here in Connecticut for 6 days straight. :beach: And, for the last 24 hours it's been 59 degrees and raining. :crazy2:

So, for next week at WDW, I am predicting clear skies, comfortable temps and no rain. :goodvibes (P.S. Don't even mention Dorian and burst my dream bubble!)

No you can take dishes & glasses to your room b/c mouse keeping will get them for you.

Going to pool or around resort just use the paper products they put out! Or the resort refillable mug. We bring small bottle rum to mix with that amazing juice to take to pool so we have these plastic tiki glasses we take to the pool!

I know there is a thread dedicated to CL, but I'm just wondering what the benefits/advantages are of staying CL? Thanks!

Subbing! I have to convince DH to stay here next year!

I hope you can get your DH on board with a Poly stay as the Poly is such an amazing resort :cloud9:.

CL is a nice perk that offers a lounge with continental type breakfast items in the morning, snacks and pop/water in the afternoon, 1 or 2 hot appetizers in the evening (around 5-7 pm), and then desserts (around 8-10 pm). The Itinerary Planning Office (IPO) is also available to make any ADRs or book dinner shows, answer any questions you might have about your upcoming stay, etc. You can still make ADRs and other bookings on your own, but IPO is there in case you need help with something :).

Staying at Poly and thinking about doing dinner at Boardwalk Inn. What's the best way to get to Boardwalk from Poly? Also, are there still activities going on at the Boardwalk in the evening? Anything a 3 and 5 year old would enjoy?

The best way to get to BW from Poly is to take the monorail from TTC to EPCOT and either take the boat at International Gateway to BW or walk from the International Gateway to BW.

First thing that comes to mind is Poly -> MK -> Boardwalk.

Or Poly -> TTC -> Epcot -> Boardwalk if you don't mind walking.

Best route might be a cab.

I don't know the schedule for the performers on the Boardwalk (haven't been in a while). There used to be acts that young kids would be interested in and the performers would try to engage them.

When dining, just across the water, at Yachtsman Steakhouse we will usually monorail to Epcot stroll back to the International Gate and take a boat. We just allow a little extra time for transfers if it's a peak time.

I agree that Ohana is tough to get, but not nearly as bad as trying to get a Be Our Guest dinner! :)

We leave in 5 days. You'd think that since we go every year, it'd get old. Nope.

Can't. Contain. The. Excitement! I'm about to burst! And I feel so unprepared compared to other years. I haven't even begun putting anything together - except that the breathable Frogg Toggs rain ponchos that I ordered just came yesterday. That's it. Soccer tournament all day tomorrow, so I guess I know what I'll be doing Sunday! :dance3:

Just wanted to let you guys know I spoke with the guest services manager at the Poly and ALL refrigerators in the Hawaii building have been replaced! So no worries!!!! :)

Was Hawaii the only affected building at the Poly?
