ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Winter 2011 Edition

Hi all!
We'll be staying at the Poly for the 1st time late August! Dh has always wanted to stay here and we will be surprising the kids. We are so excited!
I was just looking at the photos at the beginning of this thread and noticed this:

Thanks to my dad, an owner & lover of Sea Rays, my boys are total boaties and would LOVE to rent the Sea Raycers on 7 Seas Lagoon.
Even with glasses though, I can't see on this photo the min. age. Does it say 12? Has anyone done this and has firsthand knowledge of age min? Ds14 would be able to drive with ds11 correct?

In probably 15 or so trips to WDW, I have never been so excited to go! I don't want to rush summer but I'm counting the days!

It is 12! I do not know whether minor can take out another minor. But he's 11! Tell em he's 12

While shopping at Eddie Bauer I saw the mother of all sales!!!

They have these super duper sporks on sale!!! They have all sorts of colors I am sure that these suckers could really get all the booze soaked meat out of those pineapples

WooHoo! Wish I had an Eddie Bauer store near me! BUT DD#2 IS packing a couple grapefruit spoons in her checked bag for her dear old Mom to scrape out the yummy rum soaked pineappley goodness with!

I know for sure that a child must be 12 years old AND 5 feet tall in order to be the driver of the boat -- when with a person who is a licensed driver.

Your 14 year old could be the driver if you or your husband (or another adult) go with him as a passenger. However, he cannot operate the boat with your 11 year old.

How funny! I have just returned home from the Poly(just in time to miss the pool opening unfortunately). I always look forward to doing a little shopping at Eddie Bauer. I saw those sporks and thought about everyone here and how much you would love the Spork for the pineapple drink! I was going to take a picture as well, but chickened out. The cashier would've thought I ws nuts taking a pic of sporks!

Hilarious! Best sale ever. Wonder if our Eddie Bauer has them too. Although, I've got a grapefruit spoon (a.k.a. The Dangerous Spork) now -- maybe I could get a real spork for the hubster.

Yes...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!

I told my usually laying-in-bed-til-I-get-the-the-kids-breakfast-and-finally-get-my-own-and-sit-down-to-enjoy-coffee-and-disboards-then-he-wants-me-to-make-him-coffee-and-breakfast-husband....that today....since I can't have my FAVORITE breakfast for Mother's Day (tonga toast w a side of sausage) that I wanted a McGriddle and hashbrown. Love that sandwich as it is just the perfect combo of pancake, syrup and sausage in every tasty bite without the fuss and muss of utensils. I only eat it on a road trip vacay and special days like today. Gotta love mother's day cuz he hopped up, got dressed, and went to get breakfast for everybody


So jealous of everyone at the Poly or on their way very soon. Have a FAB-U-LOUS trip! Can't wait to read the trip tid-bits so that I can live vicariously thru you all

Thanks for your replies! I can't lie about his age. He will have just turned 11 and he's small for his age. If anything happened I couldn't forgive myself.
Dh can ride shotgun and I'll drive for ds11.
