Hi Poly folks:hippie:
We stayed at the Poly last Oct and loved it!! I just wanted to check in on this thread and see what the latest news is on the quiet pool renovation since I haven't been keeping up with it. Is it finished?

YES, the quiet pool was re-opened last week!!! We are THRILLED since we will be there in 10 days!!! With our group of 6 adults, the quiet pool is our fav--I've never even been IN the volcano pool! Just wish they hadn't filled in the deep end. (shrugs)

Does anyone have photos of the newly refinished quiet pool? We have 4 months to go before our trip, but I'd love to see some pics now.

I agree the Poly is addicting! Plus CL on top of that! WOW! I honestly cant imagine staying anywhere else but.. if it comes down to being able to only do a value or mod I will but I will be wishing we were at the Poly! LOL

I know next summer we plan on going for a short 3 day trip with my step son and will be staying value.. Im trying to not think about it tho.. LOL

Everyone checking in today or leaving soon.. Have a great time!

If someone doesn't beat me to it I will post them next week! I will be there Saturday and will be sure to get some pics! :thumbsup2

I cancelled my private cabana reservation though. We decided to spend the day at Discovery Cove (I have done before). I am actually excited about it because it reminds me of Castaway Cay! :goodvibes I am hoping the weather holds out for us. :sad2:

Congrats to those about to return to Poly, enjoy!

Quick questions for our upcoming stay - can you get take-out and room service from Kona and the Kona Sushi Bar?

Also, the photos of the pool area make it look like there are no chaise lounges near the pool. Are they all on the beach like it looks? Just wondering if I will be able to lounge close enough to keep an eye on my kids in the pool or if I will have to be in the pool with them:eek:

:thumbsup2

I'm so excited! We've been planning our 5th Disney trip for this August. We've stayed offsite twice (earlier years) and our last 2 trips were at CSR and POR/WL split stay. We were planning to book POR, but my husband surpised me on Mothers Day by telling me that he booked us at the Poly! We've always wanted to stay at a monorail resort and Poly was our number 1, but we just couldn't justify the extra cost. He decided to just go for it. The kids (DS-10, DD-6) and I are SO EXCITED! I've loved reading through your posts and seeing all the pics. CAN'T WAIT TIL AUGUST!!!

That is an awesome Mother's Day gift! It looks like we may be there around the same time :goodvibes as we check in on July 31. I can't wait!

We're Baaaaaack!

I plan on doing one heck of a trip report, but if anyone leaving soon has any questions, I'd be glad to share!

Here are a few things I cannot wait to say though...

#1) Club Level is worth every penny!

#2) The Poly is worth every penny!

#3) The quiet pool is up and running (and wasn't so quiet) :rotfl:

#4) I braved the volcano slide!!! :cool2:

#5) we had NINETEEN pieces of luggage marked on our room delivery card :lmao: although I really think it was more...

#6) "to-go" sushi from Kona is just as good as sitting there an eating it.

#7) I saw more bunnies and ducks than I've ever seen in my life.

#8) the CL food offerings were so yummy, we cancelled some reservations

#9) The beach in front of Hawaii stayed empty most of the day Saturday, which oddly was where we were for most of our cabana time- we found that we could have lived without the cabana. :confused3

#10) ready?

no really ready for this??

We were UPGRADED at no charge to... THEME PARK VIEW!! (we were in 1507- Cindy's castle was dead center of our view.) :worship::worship::worship:

Ok, let me know which pics you want to see first... I snapped shots of everything, I mean it, everything. TR to come soon. :cloud9:

P.S.

If anyone going soon stays on Hawaii room 1507 and finds my missing green sandal..... :rotfl2:

Woot! Woot! We just booked Poly TPV CL so I am dying to hear your detailed report on all of the above, especially the club offerings, Kona and sushi to go (I am thinking we may have too many adrs to enjoy the Poly yummies as much as we should!) your room, the cabana, pools (is the slide scary?!) did I mention the food?! :cool1::thumbsup2popcorn:

maybe this will answer your question... when one forgets the spork... you really have no other choice but to cut the pineapple in half and eat one half while you let the other rest in the tray of fruit that the cabana attendant brings you- like there is absolutely NOTHING odd about that behavior.:lmao:

Congratulations on the Theme Park view upgrade, that's awesome!!!! Can't wait to see the pictures and TR.

Thanks- I'll get on that soon I swear... I'm just-so-tired. (and since we're leaving again in 3 weeks for AKL, I'm playing a game of "lather-rinse-repeat" with my laundry and packing)

[Insert Bodacious Trip Summary Here]

1.) Wow. :goodvibes:thumbsup2:lovestruc
2.) To add to Designermv's question, how many lapus did you have throughout the entire trip? Please embellish this to make us all supremely jealous. ;)
3.) Can't wait for the TR and piccies! :woohoo:
4.) Please pack a spork for your next trip.

We have been home from the Poly for 3 days now, and PPD has set in a bit. That together with the jetlag issue has us a tad bit tired.
Our 14 days stay at the Poly CL LV was wonderful and magical, although in retrospect 14 days might be a bit too much Poly-magic.
Not that we complain we would go back today if we could. We were in room 1501, this is a LV room, but the puny palm tree that made it so, and not a TPV, was never obstructive.
The nice thing about this room is that it has a few bushes so it was also very private, a nice touch for those that want a beautiful view with some privacy on the first floor.
The CL CM’s were also very pleasant and the mousekeeping was excellent. The lounge was fine, the breakfast just OK, (one can have bagels and pastry only so much).
We did not use the lounge much, and only tried the appetizers a few times, but they were good.
Nice to have soda and other beverages available though. But some people still use the lounge a bit rough, eating “en masse” and then getting up and leave without cleaning up after one self is in my eyes bad form.
Some constantly did this, (the same people all the time) but most guests did indeed tidy up their tables before leaving.
The weird thing about the Poly in general for our stay was that the first week we where there, Easter week, the resort was not so crowded, the second week however (this should be the 5th best week to visit) was really crowded.
So much crowded that the Volcano pool was real full after noon and long into the night.
So many people swimming, that, they seemed to be do so standing up…
This might be because the quiet pool was closed.
As for dining, the Kona island sushi was excellent, the Kona café breakfast was splendid, the ‘Ohana character breakfast even better. Kona for dinner was also good, but have had better.
The ‘Ohana dinner, we did not like as much. Loud (we could live with that) but the waiters and servers and the push to hurry up was a bit too much, nice to have tried it though, the bread pudding was to die for, the skewers not so much.
The feel of the resort is brilliant; it makes you relax even when things are hectic.
The lush foliage all the rabbits and ducks makes it a small tropical paradise that soothes frayed nerves.
Wishes from the beach or the patio, what can I say, absolutely stunning. Although after 8-10 days some of the novelty is lost……
This was our first ever trip to Orlando and we enjoyed every minute of it, a lot because of the Poly and all the pleasant CM’s and other guests we met.
We enjoyed it so much that we are toying with the idea of buying into DVC, this might mean there will be less long Poly stays in the future, but we will definitively be back “home”.
On a side note we visited all the other Disney deluxe’s and all except one where just, I don’t know how to explain, but they were nice and all, but did nothing for us.
The CR/BLT however hit us straight in the face and definitely had a WOW impact on us. Not comparable to the Poly, because it is so different, but that difference was what made it appeal.
