We have been home from the Poly for 3 days now, and PPD has set in a bit. That together with the jetlag issue has us a tad bit tired.
Our 14 days stay at the Poly CL LV was wonderful and magical, although in retrospect 14 days might be a bit too much Poly-magic.
Not that we complain we would go back today if we could. We were in room 1501, this is a LV room, but the puny palm tree that made it so, and not a TPV, was never obstructive.
The nice thing about this room is that it has a few bushes so it was also very private, a nice touch for those that want a beautiful view with some privacy on the first floor.
The CL CMs were also very pleasant and the mousekeeping was excellent. The lounge was fine, the breakfast just OK, (one can have bagels and pastry only so much).
We did not use the lounge much, and only tried the appetizers a few times, but they were good.
Nice to have soda and other beverages available though. But some people still use the lounge a bit rough, eating en masse and then getting up and leave without cleaning up after one self is in my eyes bad form.
Some constantly did this, (the same people all the time) but most guests did indeed tidy up their tables before leaving.
The weird thing about the Poly in general for our stay was that the first week we where there, Easter week, the resort was not so crowded, the second week however (this should be the 5th best week to visit) was really crowded.
So much crowded that the Volcano pool was real full after noon and long into the night.
So many people swimming, that, they seemed to be do so standing up
This might be because the quiet pool was closed.
As for dining, the Kona island sushi was excellent, the Kona café breakfast was splendid, the Ohana character breakfast even better. Kona for dinner was also good, but have had better.
The Ohana dinner, we did not like as much. Loud (we could live with that) but the waiters and servers and the push to hurry up was a bit too much, nice to have tried it though, the bread pudding was to die for, the skewers not so much.
The feel of the resort is brilliant; it makes you relax even when things are hectic.
The lush foliage all the rabbits and ducks makes it a small tropical paradise that soothes frayed nerves.
Wishes from the beach or the patio, what can I say, absolutely stunning. Although after 8-10 days some of the novelty is lost
This was our first ever trip to Orlando and we enjoyed every minute of it, a lot because of the Poly and all the pleasant CMs and other guests we met.
We enjoyed it so much that we are toying with the idea of buying into
DVC, this might mean there will be less long Poly stays in the future, but we will definitively be back home.
On a side note we visited all the other Disney deluxes and all except one where just, I dont know how to explain, but they were nice and all, but did nothing for us.
The CR/BLT however hit us straight in the face and definitely had a WOW impact on us. Not comparable to the Poly, because it is so different, but that difference was what made it appeal.
