Thank you for the update. We will be there in 3 days. I am very disapointed that the quiet pool won't be open. I have no desire to swim with the crowds in the Volcano pool. Oh well, one less thing to pack in my already overflowing suitcase!

I was led to believe that if we found the right person to ask, that we might be able to use the Grand Floridian pool if the Poly Volcano pool was too crowded (while the quiet pool is closed). We didn't try it because we were short on time, but if you'll be there a while it might be looking into.

Hi everyone! I am so glad i discovered this site! My DD 9 and I will be going on our first DW trip May 19-25, staying at the Poly!! I have a question regarding the children's activities at the neverland club. I read somewhere that you can check the club out during the day, then somewhere else that you can't. Does anyone know the truth? Thanks!

Or as my daughter used to say, "the rolling trash can." If I were to show her that picture now, we'd be going to Hollywood Studios right after we got off the ME. She's a Star Wars nut, at only 4 years old.

I am so bummed by an email from IPO!

It is the letter that tells you what to do upon arriving at the resort. It clearly states that if I DID do online check-in, that I have to head to the front desk. If I did NOT do online check-in, I can be treated like royalty and be escorted to the club level office, etc... NOT FAIR. How can I UNDO my online check-in???? I paid WAY too much money for my mom to get the star treatment than to have to check in with the "nothin' special" approach. I know I'm acting like a baby about it, but with all the money I just pulled out of savings for my mom and MIL to have a once-in-a-lifetime trip on Mother's Day... well, you got my point, right?

You did remember correctly, Missoutandabout--I gave DD#2 two grapefruit spoons to pack in her checked bag for me when we saw her at Easter, (she thinks I'm nuts!) but spork just sounds so much better (and funnier!). Besides, there's no cute little Stitch pic with a GF spoon and I refuse to give up my membership in the LSSSG!!!!

And then took us via golf cart straight to Hawaii bypassing all kind of check in both at GCH and CL. Worked brilliant.
And we got exactly what we requested when we did online check in, even thou arriving on day before easter sunday it was crowded. Due note that we arrived at 7:00 PM, if that might make a difference I do not know.

Have fun, it is truly magical staying CL here.

Quick question about the cabanas...has anyone used one yet? Is it worth the substantial cost? Are the cabanas on the beach or near the pool (sight line to the kiddos?). I'm taking my sister's family (along with my family) to the Poly mid-June. Staying in CL. I've requested (and paid for) a castle view for my sister's family (we're happy in garden view CL). Is it a good idea to call/email a few weeks ahead with room preferences, or is that annoying and OCD since I put in the requests when we booked. This is their first trip and I want everything to be...well, special.

EDIT: Let me clarify: The 3 year old doesn't drink the Lapu Lapus. She did try though because it "looked pretty".

So, I bought my two a Sprite in a pineapple for $10. They proceeded to drink it in the CL lounge surrounded by "free" Sprites. Darn you, Disney!! WDW completely obliterates the common sense in the financial section of my brain.

Ok... here's a question about the cabanas! So if I book one do I get it all day or is it for a certain time? Is there anything included other than the private area? I am considering this for our free day. It is just two of us so do you think it is worth it? Do they charge you at the time you book or does it go on my room charge? We are staying CL btw. TIA!

I just rented a cabana for my trip next week. I rented it through the IPO. Yes, it's blocked hours/ or day... $110 plus tax for 4 hours (10-2 OR 3-7) or $185 for all 8 hours. Yes, I had to pay in full at the time of booking. Yes, I think it's worth it. From what I've heard, this may be my only shot at poolside seating for the 4 of us on a nice, sunny Saturday at the volcano pool. (especially since the reopening of the quiet pool on May 7th is doubtful)

They have a fridge stocked with soda and water and you get a fruit basket. But if you are staying CL you already have a fridge stocked with soda and you can ask for water. So for you.. You get nothing that you dont already have free.
Cancellation is 24 hours or the money is gone.
