I was just looking into this yesterday for my DD. She is going to 6th grade this coming August. I was checking private schools, but thought the virtual public charter school might be a good idea. Could you tell me how you and the kids like it. You can PM me so we don't get OT for the Poly thread.:)

I sent a reply to your email let me know if you did not get it.

Donnajean17 Thank You for the complement...it's my screensaver too:goodvibes It's so nice to have a place to share my pics with people who get it.:thumbsup2 Most of my family just doesnt get it:confused3 Thank goodness for the Dis boards:lovestruc

Tell me about it!!!:rotfl:

Well, we did it. We just booked club level. I guess there's no going back now! My DH will probably kill me...so what can I do to convince him. I think the one thing I have for him is "free" beer. :)

Free beer, free Grand Mariner, free Chambord :lmao: I saved a ton on alcohol when I stayed Club Level. ;)

Vinotino- Your pictures are beautiful. I'm seriously thinking about requesting Figi! I thought I only wanted to request a balcony, but maybe i want to be more specific

I would request Figi again in a heart beat!!!! Everything is so close...the monorail, the boat launch, volcano pool, GCH and the beach that connects The Poly and GF is steps away from the back door....and The Barefoot Pool Bar is nice and close too:thumbsup2

I just wanted to see how many of you put a request on your ressie and were given your requested when using online check-in. I will be checking in 13 days from now and would like to have my room ready on arrival. I am contemplating using online check-in because I know my room will be ready but I may or may not get my request. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

We used online check-in and partially got our request. We were staying TPV and had asked for "third floor/connecting/Tahiti". We got third floor/connecting/Tuvalu. In the end we were very happy with the longhouse we were in. The most important things to us were the two requests that we got. Good luck! Have a fantastic vacation!

Thanks!! was your room ready for you when you arrived? I've heard a lot of people mention that had to wait for a text saying that their room was ready. I want to be fairly close to the GCH but REALLY want a balcony!!

Yes, our room was ready. We didn't arrive until around 2:00 or 2:30 though.

:)Hi Everyone,
I hope it is OK if I join the group. I have been reading this thread since I booked our vacation and learned so much about the Poly from all of you :)

We are at the 75 day mark today...our first WDW vacation, 10 nights at the Poly CL TPV. We are on the west coast (DLR APers) so this may be our only WDW vacation and we wanted to do it right. I have loved reading all the reviews and sharing in the excitement!!

We have requested a 3rd floor room (to be able to sit outside and have a nightcap) after the kids go to sleep. That was our only request since we know we will be in the Hawaii building. But since we don't arrive until late evening (flight gets in at 6:45), I'm scared that they won't be able to fill the request.

Is it worth changing rooms when a 3rd floor room becomes available? If it were just for 3 or 4 nights, I would be happy with whatever we received. But I am hoping that since we will be there for 10 nights, we will be able to change rooms at some point if we do end up on the 2nd floor.

Anyway - it is nice to "meet" you all.

I used online checkin but at the time (april 2009) there was no option to enter a request. I did call Disney reservations about a week before we arrived and asked for Ground Floor Tokelau and got that request and was pleasantly surprised because I know it is not guaranteed! The most important thing to remember is that the first request you make should be the most important to you (like a specific building, or a specific floor, etc.) Also, I loved online checkin! Very easy and no line when I got to Poly from ME. Everyone else got off the bus and got into a line. I was the only one in the online check in line.

We're checking into the Poly tomorrow!!! Can't wait!!!! :woohoo:

Have so much fun!!!

Welcome aboard jetskigrl! Glad you are enjoying the thread and it has been helpful to you.

If having the balcony is important to you, and it sounds as if it is; then it is definitely worth a room change later IF you don't receive it at first.

When making your request, remember to prioritize your request. Since you will be in Hawaii and you have TPV your request should be for third floor for a balcony or first floor for the patio.

Here's hoping your request is fulfilled AND you enjoy your stay at the Polynesian. :wizard: If you have any questions--post away! Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. :dance3:

Thank you so much for the welcome :-) I put the third-floor balcony as our only room request. Since DH doesn't really want the first-floor either, I didn't include that one out of fear that they would honor that as our second request (rather than try to meet our first request, KWIM).

In any case, I'm sure it is going to be an awesome trip (heat, humidity, crowds and all, LOL). We have done DL in summer and Christmas crowds (without the benefit of a resort for afternoon breaks)...so I'm hoping we can handle it. Getting our room request will just be the icing on the cake ;)

Cereal is available in various flavors in the single serve bowls. Multigrain bagels are in the pastry case they have yogurt single serve but I don't remember parfait's. They also have oatmeal in single serve bowls with a microwave to cook it in.

Great! Sounds like we'll be OK on the mornings that we're not doing a full breakfast. :thumbsup2

I should clarify ... we had called CRO with our request, but also used online check-in (October 2009 - no option for requests on the online check-in at that time either). I agree with Tinkerbellie, make sure your requests are listed in order of priority. That seems to be how the room assigners handled ours. We got the first two things we requested (third floor/connecting), but not the third (Tahiti). We also enjoyed the experience. No one else was in the line and we didn't have to wait while the CM made up our stuff. We just showed our ID, picked up our package, had a little chat with our fabo CM, got our leis and ran off to our room!

Hello everyone,

I hope you don't mind me joining in as a visitor from the UK.

We are going back to Florida in August and are staying the first few nights at the Poly, never stayed here before but had a look around in April last year.

Great thread with lots of useful information. :)
