Free beer, free Grand Mariner, free Chambord :lmao: I saved a ton on alcohol when I stayed Club Level. ;)

I didn't realize they had hard stuff. I thought it was only beer. Even better since I don't drink beer. LOL.

Question...is it rude for him to take a couple back to the room? We have little kids that will be asleep early but we'd want to sit on the balcony or patio and have a drink. I read he could pour one in a cup and take it too the pool.

Well it wasn't hard to convince him it was worth it. With the 40% off, it just make sense.
Now to figure out if we want DDP or DxDP. I just can't seem to get us down from paying for 3 TS OOP with the DDP even considering 3 days with breakfast in the lounge.

Are you doing several 2 TS credits? On our last trip we didn't pay any meals out of pocket and ended up with 2 QS credits left at the end of our stay. My dh and I would share a QS meal because the meals were huge! Also, my dd didn't always eat everything so we shared with her too. So for us the regular dining plan is great. That is what we are doing this time and we are staying club level.

Hello everyone,

I hope you don't mind me joining in as a visitor from the UK.

We are going back to Florida in August and are staying the first few nights at the Poly, never stayed here before but had a look around in April last year.

Great thread with lots of useful information. :)

WELOME ABOARD! The Poly is great and especially if you're flying in from Europe, Captain Cooks is open 24 hours to grab something to eat. When I've gotten in from a late east coast flight, DD10 and i had a lovely time chatting with folks from Europe at the volcano pool. :goodvibes

I've been to the UK 3 times (London, Milton Keynes, Manchester)--my fave European country to visit...and shop in. ;)

I'm not a big beer drinker and I only drink Heineken (aka 'Microsoft' beer) in a pinch. Was about to grab one when I saw the little 'liquor' selection put out next to the 'special punch' bowl. I think I heard angels singing. :lmao: It was truly a beautiful thing. Had much fun making my special 'latte' mixed with Grand Mariner. ;)

Nope. I did that several times during my stay and I saw other CL guests doing the same. One night while DD was at the Neverland Club I grabbed 2 beers, some snacks, and watched a movie in our room while doing my nails. It was awesome. :cloud9:

When we got upgraded to CL level, we already had the regular DDP and that worked out great for us. If we'd had the DxDP it would have been overkill. Even if you do have to pay out of pocket for a TS it isn't so bad. Usually for those meals I'd skip dessert or order a cheaper entree than usual.

The more the merrier! I hope you enjoy your stay at the Polynesian and we are all here to help with any information we can provide. :thumbsup2

Thanks - my first question then, I know Tambu lounge gets busy with people waiting to go into Ohana's.
If we are not eating there what is the quietest time in the evening to just chill at the bar with a cool beer? :)

Welcome! Former North Wales girl here (Mynydd Isa - near Mold)! DH and I did that one evening and it was pretty empty. If I remember right it was later in the evening though - 8:00ish? I could be wrong though, I tend to mix up the resorts! Someone with a better memory will be along, I'm sure.

hello everyone! This will be my first stay at the Poly but my 12th trip.. Wanted to stay here since I was a little girl! Some great Diser helped make it possible by telling me to use the room only code and add tickets and dining. I had to call and switch b/c I had FD bounceback staying at CSR but they had no problem doing it! I am super excited!
I cant believe DH did this for me, it will be our 2nd anniversary trip! Now I asked CM to request a building close to GCH (we have garden view) and a king bed but someone told me Poly only has king beds in suites so my chances for that will be slim..

wow, I just posted some questions about Poly. Should have looked for this thread first. Thanks for all the info!!!

Slim to none as far as your chances go for a king. There are no king beds at Polynesian, unless you have the major suite which also costs major $$$$$. The Polynesian has queen sized beds with day beds. The beds are comfy though. :)

My CM must not know much about the Poly then b/c I first asked her if King would be extra and she said no, not at a deluxe! I recvd my confirmation email and it even says King Bed.

Oh well Im just thrilled to be at the Poly this yr!

We are doing 2, 2TS credit meals. The castle (which is for the girls) and Yachtsman (hmm maybe that's not a two one?). I think that's where the problem is. I wish there was middle of the road plan...it seems to be such a big difference between the two.

It probably says "King bed requested, not guaranteed"

And please don't get upset with the front desk folks when you get there and don't have a king bed. They had nothing to do with the person who booked the reservation.

I'd say closer to 9pm or so when the early crowds from 'Ohana have cleared out and there are little to no people waiting to be seated. It's much calmer then. :thumbsup2

I do understand requests are not guaranteed and I have/will Never treat a CM badly. Been going to WDW since I was 12 (lets just say Im not 20)

I just wasnt sure if Poly was like CSR b/c we were booked with a King Room and CM had said King wasnt extra at a deluxe but she just wasnt an expert on the Poly like my felow Disers..

Sadly, some of the reservation folks aren't as knowledgeable about the hotels/restaurants as they could be. The misinformation you were given wouldn't be the first and certainly won't be the last. :sad2:

Just arrived home from our 7 night stay at the Poly! It was absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful time and the Poly was perfect in every way! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

I will try to post some details a little later!
