okay peeps...I am down to 11 days to my first Poly stay!

Here's a question I'm sure is answered here somewhere, but...is the music from Wishes piped in or audible from the beach? Worth it to go into park one nite to witness in person from MK? We've been there pre-Wishes to see Tink fly...anything really fab we won't get from the beach?:worship:

Yes, wishes music is piped in at the Poly beach! If you have never actually been in MK during wishes, you simply must stay to watch! It is amazing! Also watch it from poly beach it is not as crowded and you can sip your favorite cocktail.

43 days!! 43 days!! I want it to be 0 days!

Thanks for all your great information. We are using a car service this october. Stopping at a grocery store sounds like a good idea. Do you have to arrange it beforehand or can you just ask to stop and also where is a good place to stop? Thanks!

Most car services have a spot on the reservation forms to request a grocery stop or at least a "special requests" area to designate a grocery stop is required. If you are calling for a reservation, simply place your request at that time. The car services we have used in the past do want advance notification of your desire for a stop.

Usually we stop at Publix on our way to our resort. Prices are reasonable and the stores are nice. We have also, on occasion, let the driver know we are only interested in adult beverages. In that case, we were taken to a specialty store for those items.

Happy planning!

I am leaving in 10 sleeps (if I have to count tonight!) Is anyone else going then????? I have dreamed of staying at the Poly and this is my lucky 13th trip!! I can't wait!

:

Six more sleeps for us - I can't believe it. It seemed so long away when we booked 3 1/2 months ago (I hear you people who book 9 months or more out laughing).

just did online check in !!

Holy Smokes, I just noticed my ticker! 2 1/2 months to go!

I am officially beginning to panick. :scared::scared::scared: The trip is only two weeks away, and I feel like I am not ready. Yes, I am ready to be on vacation but i still have items on my list that i have not checked off on my packing list.

I am acting like a crazy person,I know! Does anyone else get anxiety as the departure date to WDW gets closer? I know this will be the trip of our WDW dreams, and it is our first stay the the Poly, but I am beginning to feel overwhelmed with excitement and apprehension. Crazy, huh?!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Have a great trip everyone!

Zuzu...I remember when you were over a year out! I can't believe you are so close!!

mrskchris...relax :goodvibes You are going to love the Poly! Don't be overwhelmed! I agree the excitement is crippling at times! But I hope you love the Poly and have a magical vacation pixiedust:

Hi everyone!

I couldn't stay away from the Poly. I've booked again for July with my three boys. (DH will not be able to join us on this trip:guilty:) I actually need to add one more night on to our reservation, but I'm really torn between GV or Theme park view or even GVCL. LVCL is just too much additional money for our shorter stay. I wish I could guarantee which longhouse in GV we'd be put in-- that would solve all my indecision!

Anyway, I can't wait to go back! :thumbsup2

Whoo Hoo!:cool1: Another repeat customer!

I would say with a shorter trip the GVCL may be nice so you don't have to spend extra time for breakfast since you can have it in the lounge and snacks and drinks. Plus you have the lounge to watch Wishes or the EWP and so close to the pool!

I agree...if I could be guaranteed the longhouse of my choice, I would stay standard GV all the time.

Happy planning :wizard:

NO idea what to request for longhouse/floor/room, LOL! We ended up w/LV by default. We don't have little ones, so having a pretty view is pretty well the priority. I guess I'd prefer more beach and maybe a glimpse of wishes or anything MKish.

Since you want to look at the beach, you might request Tahiti. It's a large longhouse so you have a good chance of getting your request. Tuvalu doesn't have a beach in front of it. Aotearoa is the third longhouse with LV rooms. It's closer to the GCH than Tahiti but the rooms aren't as large and second floor rooms lack a balcony.

10 more sleeps!!!! :yay:

WHOO HOOOO :cool1:

There is still SO much to do!!! :upsidedow

:thumbsup2AND thanks for the SLIDE question! I know DD will be nervous at first, but I'm sure she'll be fine!

Well :rolleyes1 74 pages into the thread I finally finished the first page. :thumbsup2

Believe it or not I am already thinking about the next edition. I want to update the Club Level page in particular so anyone staying Club Level feel free to collect some new pics of the offerings. I will be so thankful because I do not think my trip will come before we hit 250 pages!

I think I have linked all the recent longhouse view posts on the reviews page for this Spring edition. If I missed yours just shoot me a PM.

Happy planning Poly lovers :wizard:

9 days until the Polynesian.
I hope that we get a room in the Tahiti Longhouse, but I am not keeping my hopes up just incase. We also liked Fiji, but the distance between the Great Ceremonial House and Tahiti is lovely. It's nice to walk a little to the GCH.

DD did, I think that current as you come out can be a bit overwhelming, so we just felt better with it on, even though she could swim. You can get a vest at the marina and keep it all trip - we did this last time. The vest may help her feel more secure. Oh, and there's a traffic light at the top that turns green when it's OK to go - my kids loved that!

Is there a cost for the vests at the marina? I thought about packing some, but they are so bulky.

Check out my ticker!!!!! Will be there soon, so I will be happy to make many, many pictures of CL offerings. I plan on making hundreds of pix at the Poly;)

I got the best email, from the Poly IPO...yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Less than 90 days now until our trip! I have most things planned, but will be contacting them to help me a little surprise for my family.

We are all so excited,, I can't wait! :goodvibes

I posted this on its own but realized I probably should have started here where all the experts are... :) Any advice...

My husband and I have selected the Poly for our 10th anniversary trip! We are visiting in August and I'm overwhelmed with all the Poly information especially in light of a small planning window - much shorter than I'm used to!! So I've checked out various sites and the Poly FAQ - I'm trying to decide which longhouse we should request, we have reserved a garden view and our priorities are as follows (in order):

1. Quiet area (i.e. not interested in being near the pool)
2. Reasonably close to monorail and GCH - it would also be nice if we could park nearby (is that an option at any of them?)
3. Nice view
4. Balcony

Based on this... what would you suggest for us? I appreciate any help the Poly veterans can give us!!

Has anyone ever rented a car from the car care center at the MK (the Hess station just inside the MK parking lot)?

We are heading there for a work conference and won't need a car the whole time, so we thought getting one there might work well.

Any idea how long it takes for the shuttle to come pick you up at the Poly and take you there and vice versa? Thanks!!

Sara

Oh, I wanted to post this for those who think it might help to see the slide "in action" so to speak. This is video from our trip in February of my son waiting to go down the slide and my husband sits down after he goes and videos himself going down the slide. It was cold - hence the shorty wetsuit that my son is wearing! He was 8 and had to lie down, but my 5 and 6 year old girls were both able to sit up while going down the slide and LOVED it!

Based upon your criteria, I would suggest Rapa Nui, Tahiti or Aotearoa. Rapa Nui is the longhouse with nearest parking--although none are that far away.

Not to be a post hog, but we have rented a car from the Car Care Center before. It was very easy and quick. We called for a pick-up time of 8:00 a.m. and the shuttle was there timely. We were at CCC in a matter of minutes and on the road inside of half an hour. Return was the same in reverse, very quick and efficient.
