Kind of like that old commercial where Nescafe instant is substituted at Tavern on the Green and people were raving about the coffee. It must have something to do with the surroundings to make it taste better than Tim Horton's. Trust me, that coffee is not in the same league with Timmy Ho's. Glad your husband enjoyed it though.

Well, I told DH and he couldn't believe it. We had breakfast at Kona a few years ago, so he knows what the pressed pot looks like. You are absolutely right, it was the "Polynesian" effect. Once the CM said aloha and gave DH a "free" beer it was over. I just love your nickname for Tim Hortons, now I cant stop saying it.

I'm so excited! I just changed our December reservations from the Fort Wilderness Cabins to the Poly!

Yay! I would love to visit the Poly in December, just to see all the holiday decorations and lights. Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the review - glad you had a great trip! I love the sound of the boats too! We were in Tuvalu last October and loved the sounds of the little shuttle boats at the dock beside us (oh and DD5 & I love Philharmagic too!)

Thanks maiapapaya! Hooray! One more for the boat sounds! I dont know why but I really enjoy watching and listening to the all boats and ferries. Tuvalu looks wonderful, I love how its surrounded by the lagoon, thats gorgeous! And I bet the weather in October is perfect!

Im so glad to hear that you love Philharmagic too! It's the first thing we did at MK. I really enjoy seeing all my favorite Disney characters. I am convinced that the floor moves, lol.

for anyone going soon (well, except for kdunkle... you have enough on your plate and i hope dh feels better soon!)... would one of you mind taking pics of each of the menus at CC's? dh cannot have gluten !

I was talking to another disboarder about having a diabetic along and several with food allergies who mentioned that they have a diabetic who also has celiac. She said that they requested at the Poly club level that there be gluten free muffins and every morning when they asked for them, the CM brought them out for them. Maybe try asking IPO?

It's a little sad to see GF. We stayed there last time and I'm sure my girls will be missing it...until we convert them over to be PolyGirls. The volcano pool will help!

Ack! So, Guitarrob graciously gave me direction on how to create a TR and I've been trying to start what could've been a live-ish trip report for our Poly trip starting..tomorrow! (I better get crackin' on packin'!) And, I have found that trying to coordinate the disboards with the photo app takes major work. It feels like going from my Mac back to a Windows OS; which kinda feels like this . lol So s..l..o..w. Either I'm doing something wrong (totally a possibility ) or I've just gotten spoiled by the speed. Has anyone else experienced difficulty in compiling a TR with their phone (mine is a BB)?

On a lighter note..just 20 more hours!

You're not the only one. Posting photos using a non-computer device is a PITA. (Which reminds me, I need to send another feature request Email to the developers of the Atomic Web iPad app).

In other news, we're 25 days away from our first night at the Poly, and BOTH kids are home sick with barky coughs. All I can say is, they've got about three weeks to get it out of their systems!! (Though my 2nd grader missing a day of school, when she's going to miss an entire week for our trip, is less than ideal).

Thanks to everyone wishing us a good trip! Once I get through today I have tomorrow with my DD volleyball game and then Thurs and then OMG Its finally time!!!

Got almost all my packing done except for a few toilitries which I will pack Thurs night b/c DH wants to load car up that night so when we wake up Fri Morning (between 4 &5 am) we can brush our teeth grab some coffee and HIT THE ROAD!

First stop is Prime Outlets for my bday shopping and then later dinner at Trex!

We check into Best Western DTD Fri night and early Sat will check into the Poly!!!

Both of my kids were home sick with icky coughs and stuffy noses last week, dr gave them both zpacs and they are back to school this week!

Hoping everyone that isnt feeling well a speedy recovery!

hi all- we just got back from a short 3 night stay at the polynesian. i hope to login in later and add some more-but just wanted to say that we got a Theme park view on 3rd floor tahiti and we are FOREVER in love with the polynesian and that room!!! I can't say enough about it. We're in love. the TTC is sooo close to tahiti. we actually ALWAYS walked there for the monorail- instead of ever walking to the GCH. Captain cooks was yummy. It was our first time there (we did have a bit of a wait for the food- but otherwise- we loved it). We've been to kona and ohana- we knew we loved them. The weather was perfect. The pool was perfect. THE ROOM WAS RIDICULOUSLY LARGE. I was beside myself. The view of the water pageant and wishes from our room was-- perfect. Contemporary used to be my hand-down favorite resort- but I just can't stop raving about how much we loved our room this past weekend. We had a very magical weekend. We know we will be back. It is a fantastic resort.

I felt the same way about the CR, it was our favorite resort. I still love the Contemporary but once we stayed at the Polynesian, we haven't been back to the CR or stayed anywhere else! We are heading back next August (Poly) but now we are toying with the idea of upgrading to club level. Thanks for the review! I was telling DH of all the recent trip reports and reviews and he said, well that's why I PICKED THE POLY So I had nothing to do with it, he picked the whole thing But it makes me happy to think he is getting his resort of choice since I am 'dragging' him back to WDW.

I agree. Since we got upgraded to Club Level at the GF we have never gone back to standard rooms. Maybe Disney does that on purpose? We are trying club level at the Poly in November just for a change from the Floridian. I've been reviewing some of the prior posts on this thread and it sounds like we won't be disappointed.

We took a tour of the resort, the entire place is gorgeous. I saw so many beautiful butterflies and they were HUGE. I don't think there is a bad view on the property. I don't know how they do it, but the garden views are just as beautiful and very tranquil. We cant wait to return to the Polynesian.
