Since my nephews decided to tell me that one of their secret wishes was to stay at Stitch's house the next time we went to Disney we'll all be going to the Poly right after Thanksgiving next year! This will be the first time I've stayed there since I was in middle school (~20 years ago) and am very excited, however won't be nearly as excited as them once we pull up to it! It's funny that I still remember staying at the Poly even though it's been many many many years.

I booked a Theme Park View room with hopes that we'll be able to watch the electric water pageant and fireworks from our room like we do at the Grand when we stay in that same type of room category. If so, that'll be great and if not, we'll just go outside and sit on the beach and watch :woohoo:

The last 2 years we have stayed TPV (Tuvalu) and we were definitely able to watch both the EWP and Wishes from our room. :thumbsup2 Any TPV room will give you a view of the fireworks. I'm not sure about the EWP from Tahiti (I'm not sure if it goes that far over on the lagoon), but I think I saw a post that indicated that you can - I can't remember, either the poster mentioned it or had a picture.

gypsydoodlebug--Loved the video. Thanks for sharing. You know they love school when you tell them they are going to WDW and they are worried about missing classes. Too funny:lmao:

Hey--I watched the live video last night too! I found the link on another thread after being too dense to figure out the hints on this thread. I have never been to that site before. Loved watching EWP and the fireworks. I even loved listening to the train in MK and the horns from the boats.:cloud9:

You will have no trouble watching the fireworks from any of the TPV rooms. The EWP may be hard to see from a TPV room in Artearoa because the lagoon view for that would be partially blocked by Tuvalu. A room in Tuvalu or Tahiti will be the ticket :thumbsup2

I just realized that we hit the 31 day mark today for our January trip, so I thought I'd post here! We're a group of nine in two rooms, most seasoned WDW vets, but this is our first stay at the Poly and we CAN'T wait!!

We have 3 preschoolers in our party so we are so looking forward to the monorail convenience. Mostly I just wanted to share my excitement, but I also wonder if there are tips you can share or "must-do's" for an inaugural Poly stay?? We have part of our group in a concierge two-bedroom Princess suite in Tonga and the rest are in a concierge room in Hawaii (I think those buildings are correct ... but can't swear to it.)

POLYNESIAN here we come!!! :cheer2:

Tonga Toast and a Dole Whip!! Just take some time to sit in the lobby, on the beach or even on your patio/balcony and just soak up the atmosphere. Definitely one of my favorite things to do is just listen to the music and look at the castle. :goodvibes

I hopefully was able to e mail anyone who requested the link to the live feed. If I did not e-mail you back and you requested the link please PM me again. I was doing it from work today  and I may have missed a few.

I just love the Ferry horn. We missed the EWP :headache: But we still have a few more days :cool1:

Watching Wishes on the live feed. (Thanks for the link.) Cannot WAIT to see it in person again, but not from the Poly. I want to be right there in the park, up close & personal!!!

New Poly convert here. So much so that after our pre-Thanksgiving trip (4 nights TPV Poly-Tahiti & 4 night RPC Grand Floridian) we went just a week and a half ago for a quick second trip back to the Poly-Rarotonga.:love::love:

I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Just watched Wishes! Great way to end a long day

We watched it too! Loved the ferry boat whistles in the background--the theme music sounded like a Christmas program though--was it a Christmas fireworks special?

We were at the Poly CL TPV in room 1506 from Dec 4-12. Let me say that even with some days and nights with cold temps we had a blast.

We arrived around 10 AM on the 4th and our room wasn't ready but our friends who came with us their room was (room 1507). So we stored our carry ons in their room and was able to grab a bite to eat in the lounge.

Since our room wasn't ready, we were told that we would get a text when it was ready. In the text we were supposed to be told what our room number was because they didn't know at the time.

So off to Epcot we went. I kept checking my phone for the text but never received one. So, we head back to the Poly, after a fabulous dinner at Akerhous, around 8 PM. So we go back to CL desk and ask about our room. They procede to tell us it is ready. I had to ask what room number? They looked at me like I had lost my mind. I did let them know we never received a text, and the lady said "Oh Well". I just smiled and said thanks.

So we get to our room, our luggage from ME is there and we are ready to get to bed. I had been up since 2AM and the kids 4:45 AM. I walk in between the two beds and the carpet is WET! So I go back to the desk, and explain to them that the carpet was wet. The same lady who I told that we never received the text says to me, "well why didn't you let us know sooner"? I did have to bite my tongue on that one. I again nicely informed her that we never received the text about our room being ready. Again she said "oh well".

She did offer to have fans put in our room in order to dry the carpet. My kids do not sleep well with box fans running so I asked for extra towels to put on the floor to help dry the floor a bit more.

As to CL offerings, everything was replaced in a prompt manner and we never really had to wait for anything. I was amazed at how many people left their plates and cups on the tables! One CM knew I liked having a bottle of water in my room and asked what room we were staying in. One evening when we came back from a park, there were 4 bottles in our refrigerator. I made sure to thank that CM.

Housekeeping was very prompt. A couple of mornings we went to breakfast at 8 AM, came back to our room at 8:30 and our room had already been serviced! Only had one issue with housekeeping when we weren't left any wash cloths or towels. I called and we had some within 10 minutes and an apology.

So, overall, my kids ask everyday when are we going back. My DH only wants to stay CL when we go now.

Oh before I forget, our waitress at Kona was the BEST! We had dinner there one night and we were using the dining plan. Well that evening our kids did not want dessert. So, she asked our kids fruit or cake. Both kids said fruit. She comes back with a bag with 4 carry out trays of fruit for us to take back to our room! Also, when I told her my Coke that came out of the fountain dispenser didn't taste right and could I switch to tea, she said hold on a minute. She came back with 2 cans of coke and said you shouldn't have to settle for bed coke.

And yes we will stay at the Poly again.

Yep, I've pretty much been instructed it's CL and at least wo days of VIP tours from now on. I've spoiled the fam!! Oh, and it looks like we'll be mostly split stays due to this last Poly CL experience (and my desire to try at least all the deluxes). :cloud9:

"Rat infested longhouse"

HUH?!?!?! Which one?! Please tell me...because if we stay at the Poly and I see a rat, especially a rat INSIDE i think i will die.

Why does it seem like a lot of people have complained about the carpet in the rooms being wet? What is that from? Do they clean the rugs after guests???
