I was wondering if anyone has gone to this on Oahu. We'll be in Oahu this July and I've read about this flea market and was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about it. I thought it might be fun to investigate it when we are there.

I've hit it at "0-dawn hundred" where I've picked up some good produce, leis, etc. Otherwise it was pretty cleared out by 9 or 10 am...

Yep, I've been there. It's pretty big, and a good place to buy inexpensive souvenirs. Beach towels, t-shirts, etc. There seemed to be something to interest everyone in my family.

I live on Oahu and have been there a few times. Visitors seem to really enjoy it. I enjoy it as well, there are good deals to be found on various items. T-shirts are very inexpensive, but they also have things like luggage, sunglasses, beach wear, non-perishable food items, etc.

If you do go, I would suggest going early, and make sure you bring a hat and sunglasses. Because it's set up in the parking lot of the stadium (asphault), it usually gets VERY hot. Wear comfortable shoes too, it's quite big, and there are rows of vendors.

We went in May last year on a sunday and got there around 7-ish and most of the people were still setting up. We were told they were on "hawaii time" and apparently they didnt get there to set up at the crack of dawn. Hubby and I were still on California time cause we had just gotten in the night before, so we beat most of the booth people there. It is big and takes awhile, but we enjoyed it. Tshirts were something like 5 for $10.00 or something like that. I know hubby got 5 tshirts and 5 polo shirts but I'm not sure now of the prices of them. Those little black rubber sandals that everyone wears are cheaper at the flea market too. I saw them there but didnt buy any but then later in the week went to Hilo Hatties where they were $10.00 or $12.00 a pair. At the flea market they were 2 pairs for $5.00 and the flea market had blue ones along with the black and brown. I dont know if any of that helps, its just our experience.

It's pretty cool and HUGE!

though we didn't stay long (it was hot and we underestimated the size).....what items we did get--there were some better prices at Intl Marketplace. Maybe if we stayed longer--we would have done better. I did one quarter of it and that tooks us a while.

BRING SUNSCREEN!!

What is Intl Marketplace? Is that also a flea market and where is that?

Thanks everyone for the info. Sounds like fun.

Bumping, because I am hoping to hit it next Sat!

Where is is? What days again? How far from the Hale Koa/Ft Debussy? What time should I be there? 8am?

TIA!

Sounds like fun. As you can see from my tag, a flea market would be my cup of tea... bargains galore!
