At WCC, showed up 1st night of our trip, and they couldn't find me in their system. She did keep misspelling my name, but even after she got it right, still nothing. She apologized and was starting to send we away, when I asked her if she could look it up by phone number, she said yes, and found it instantly. She couldn't explain why it didn't show up the up previously as my name was spelled correctly. Phew! Then at Sci-fi yesterday, I was almost turned away again. This time I was smart, and I had been bringing my confirmation numbers with me. She found it w/ my confirmation number, but had no idea why I wasn't in the queue. So the lesson is bring those confirmation numbers with you even if you double/triple confirmed before leaving. I imagine things will eventually come together, but for now, problems are still showing to frequently.

I couldn't agree more about having the ADR numbers with you.

I always print up my reservations on an credit card sized paper and stuff them in my lanyard so I have them with me.

Even with a fairly simple last name, you'd be surprised how many times the name is misspelled.

The last two times we've gone I had the concierge print out the list of our ADRs and then I put it in the pocket of my camera bag (the camera's always with me!!:rotfl:) just in case. Never had to pull it out though, but it was good to know I had the "official" printout just in case.

That's great advice to always bring your dining confirmation numbers with you, because you never know what could happen.

I make a different index card for each day. On it has my confirmation numbers, parade times (just in case I forget) and specials for the day I want to see. Oh and my snacks credit ideas for the day...

My snazzy phone has a calendar feature. I set all my ADR's in that and have the alarm go off in the correct amount of time to get to restaurant. No losing my numbers!!! I agree about the name problem. My last name was so butchered by the CM's that made the ADR that sometimes it was comical.

Never thought about using my phone! Great idea!!!!!:thumbsup2

We have been told several times our ADR is not there.

I always have the numbers on our written itinerary, so our ressie has always been found when I provide the ADR number.

DH was so proud of me for being so organized.

Now he expects a written intinerary for every vacation. Our last vacation was a beach vacation and he kept bugging me about seeing the itinerary. I tried to tell him to relax it was a BEACH vacation, not WDW.

Finally, I wrote an intinerary- get up, eat breakfast, put on swimsuit, pack lunch, go to the beach, eat lunch, come back from the beach, get cleaned up to go out to dinner. Repeat for the next six days.

He had to laugh and finally stopped bugging me.

I've gotten sooo into my phone calendar that oit has all of my ADRs, flight reservations, CBR reservations, even basic park itineraries for the day with alarms going off a certain times. I anticipate that while waiting in line, and I know i will, that I'll probably set alarms for when I can get the next FP, LOL.:goofy: Gorsh! What am I doing, is this some sort of obsession? Well, we do go to the beach every Labor Day to say goodbye to summer and I don't plan anything on that trip.

While it's nice to input numbers into a cell, personally I'd prefer to have a printout. More official. If you're going to have to hassle with "yes I do have a reservation", then I figure it's best to be able to pull out a sheet that was printed out, from Disney. (The Concierge desk at the resorts are glad to print this out for you.)

ooh that is a great idea about putting it in the phone. Better get my money out of this blackberry

I think they have special "randomizer" software in the ADR system that purposely scrambles and replaces letters in your name.

The conceirge desk can only print out your reservations if they can find them - from experience I know they cannot do this if your last name has been misspelled beyond recognition and the phone number you used was also mistyped. Bring your confirmation numbers with you - the conceirge desk can use them to print you out your reservations if you prefer to have the conceirge do so.

My last name is Polish but when you pronounce it correctly, it sounds Scottish. I learned very quickly after getting married that I NEVER pronounce my last name when making any reservation. I simply say "I'll spell it for you" and then start with "N as in Nancy" and then continue on. The biggest mistake anyone makes is to start our last name with an "M" and not the "N". I just head off any possible mistake before it can even start. And it doesn't help that my first name is spelled differently than normal as well. My maiden name was also difficult so I've spent my entire life spelling both my last and first names. I have never had a single reservation lost ever in my life.

:lmao: I made something similar for DH when he kept asking me our schedule when we went to England to visit his family. I listed the flight times and dates and then underneath wrote, "It's your family. I have no clue what the daily plans will be. Ask them."

I have a very simple four letter last name and it is always misspelled on our ADR's. :confused3 It's like the dining operators are trying to make it way more exotic than it actually is even when I spell it out and use the word in a sentence for them.

I always scribble each day's ADR time and confirmation number on a piece of paper and stick it in my pocket before leaving the room.

I also keep all my confirmation #s in my iphone. Never had to use them but better safe than sorry. :goodvibes

I always have a listing of all my confirmation numbers with me...at all times. I have had several instances where the wrong name was on the ADR..not even close, just a completely wrong name. One time at CP, I checked in about 15 mins before my ADR time...they could not find me at all...checked all over. I gave them the confirmation number, and there it was...but someone else was listed there!!! So....the CM decided to try something odd..she checked the day after, same time frame. There I was. Only problem was that I would have been on a plane when that ADR came up.
She made a note in the system....just in case the people who's name was on my ADR came along shortly thereafter...but she figured their ADR was the next day. But, if I hadn't had that conf with me, who knows how it would have turned out.
Better safe than sorry.

This was not at WDW but in December 2007 my dad and I went to Tampa Bay to watch the Maple Leafs/Lighnting game and a few weeks before he made a reservation at a buffet restaurant in the St. Pete Times Forum which is called Medallions. Anyway since he called them directly he was given a confirmation and when we arrivved there the host could not find our reservation and he then showed them the confirmation number. So someone from there messed up, however they were still able to seat us without any problems.

:thumbsup2 That's what we do too- on top of the listing on the "official itinerary", I put all ADR with conf # in my blackberry calendar.
