Almost ready to head south

It rained earlier this week and has been cold. Today I broke some ice and with a little work got the door and the storage compartments open. I’m going to try to get the landing gear off the ground Friday, then head south Saturday. We’re getting 2-5 inches of snow tonight so we’ll see how it goes. We’re looking to check into the Fort on Monday. The dog is really looking forward to chasing armadillos in the campground. We just hope the parks aren’t too crowded next week.

Hopefully you get unfrozen. I've heard one of these will do wonders. Be careful, they are known to get out of hand. Not that I would know or anything.

It will definitely thaw once you get down here, its been in the mid to upper 80s in central FL for almost 2 weeks now

Left West of Chicago Saturday at 9:00am 8 degrees. Got above freezing just north of Nashville. At the KOA SW in Davenport FLA de winterizing and putting everything away in the door we could pry open. 84 here so life is good. Moving to the Fort tomorrow after a grocery store run.

Fuel prices are high but this is the first time we haven’t been slowed down in traffic. Cruise set at 67 the whole way.

We are in the 700 loop this year. First time ever at that end of the Fort. The dog likes it. Just out the back of our site is the old railroad tracks for her to walk at.

702 was the our site the first visit to "The Fort". Great walking with the dogs.

The first night we watched the MK fireworks from on main street, never been there before for the show. We wanted to see the projections on the Main Street buildings, wasn’t worth it. Too crowded and too many things to look at to really enjoy the show. The second night we went to Epcot for their new nighttime show and we were blown away by how great it was. Spaceship Earth looks great at night with all the colors too.

We did the same at MK. The first viewing we camped out by Casey's like I would have for HEA. I wasn't as impressed. The next time we were in front of the flag pole near the entrance and watched looking all the way down Main St. That was a much better angle. I still like the new EPCOT show better, but the MK location makes a big difference. Give it another try if you have a park day back at MK.

Hey there!!!! Yes, I recognize you!!! Thanks for visiting over there and for the kind words!!! Someday we’ll bring our Motorhome down to Disney!! We have DVC, so we usually just use our rig to travel locally. I started a thread to collect monthly recreation calendars over in the resorts board, so I’ll probably be back pestering you guys over here! Trying to keep it updated so people have them handy for their upcoming trips!! It was nice chatting! See you soon!!

After we left the Fort we stopped at Ocala to a friend, then off to Jacksonville, Charleson, Pigeon Forge, and now tomorrow to Nashville. Campgrounds north of there probably still aren't open yet. Might actually get home by next week. We have been thinking about another Disney trip in the fall. Putting the miles on and paying for the high priced diesel fuel. The highest was $5.59 so far. I'll have to tally all the costs when we get home to see how soon we might want to go back.
