hi everyone,

after doing Disney (2x a year) for the last 16 years, I'm trying to cram in ALL UNIVERSAL INFO for our upcoming trip planning. Last time (2000) we were in US we spent time with kids at Barney/Fieval's...so this time it'll be all Roller Coasters, Harry Potter, etc...ah, the different stages of our lives!

been reading and reading and reading...:surfweb: -- just booked my airfaire for 9/14-18 and have a Pool View room at HRH on hold until today. For some reason I was thinking they had balconies, but after seeing pictures I'm rethinking room options. I had visions of drinking my coffee on a balcony overlooking the pool in the am and having a nice cold one with my hubby after a day in the park. Not a huge deal and glad I realized before going.

So now I'm looking at Club level but not sure it would be worth it for us as we plan to do 3 park days out of our 5 days and probably wouldn't come back to hotel if to inconvenient. Can anyone tell me what beer offerings they have - my husband likes the high-octane IPA beer! Yikes -- if I book and they have no cold beer he likes...boy that could put a damper in trip!

If I go back to my first choice and just book a standard HRH hotel room, is "room near elevator" best if you just want to get going and don't really care about the above. Any other tips welcome!

Originally I looked at packages that included breakfast at Three Broomsticks, but read NOT to book packages (THANKS) and found it was cheaper for us to book seperate. My girls told me they could care less about breakfast and just want to get to the rides and Olivanders, etc. Looks like there are other food offerings there for later in the day, right?

thanks everyone.

Some folks love the Club Level, but with my picky eating kids and busy schedule when we are in Orlando, I can't justify the extra cost.

Personally, I would suggest you book a standard or water view room (no balconies) and stop at Wal-Mart or Publix on your way in from the airport and pick up the beer of your choice and bring or buy a cheap styrofoam or soft-sided cooler. Use the hotel ice and keep refreshing it as needed to keep it cold through your stay.

The rooms have Keurig coffee makers so you can make your coffee and then just wander down and sit by the pool and enjoy.

I think there is a sticky somewhere above that has photos of food and beer offerings on the Club Level and I'm pretty sure there was no IPA type beer available.

thanks for replying Blackjack - sounds like a good plan!

Woo Hoo We're going to Universal! Just changed hotel res. to standard view as there are so many restaurants I want to try and I don't think we will be in that room much. Think this will be good plan for us.
