We've almost decided - decent rate with package from CAA (AMA) for April 27 thru May 3.

Anything I should know about this hotel before we book? I plan to check for any reviews tomorrow (too tired right now....)

Package includes parkhopper, one EE, Mickey's MM, character bfast, etc....

First gotta go sign up at CAA as a member! :rolleyes1

Thanks for all your help everybody! I am so excited - I can't wait to see the looks on my kids faces! I can't really believe we are going!!!:dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

It looks great to me. :thumbsup2

I am THE EE geek & would prefer 2 EE days over 1.....BUT:

- Toontown MM
- Character Bfast
- Many days at the park during an off season.

....makes this package perfect for your family. :hippie:

I've heard good things about the Camelot but will let others chime in (since i haven't stayed there.

You guys are going to have a blast. :yay:

I would love the extra EE option too, but couldn't find a carrier that offered two EE's in any of the hotels +/or rooms (ie - separate room suites) I wanted. I am a bit fanatical about staying as close to the park as possible - don't want to be carrying 3 kids for a 15 minute walk, and waiting for a shuttle would not be advisable with my 'low on patience, high on hollering' kids!
We decided to do a 4 day parkhopper instead of 3 simply to give us extra time to do everything....hope it works!

We are planning to do a Sunday to Saturday plan, meaning we completely avoid weekends (fly in sunday aft/eve, fly home saturday morning). Is this a bad plan? We're hoping we can catch Fantasmic on Friday, but if not, it really isn't the end of the world - the kids may be a little young (except the 5 yr old) to get much out of it anyway. And I think the tradeoff of not dealing with weekend crowds would be worth it - any other opinions??

Oops - I lied. Stayed up so late researching, I didn't remember what I found! Getawaytoday does offer the Camelot as well, however, it's over $200 more than the CAA rate, and doesn't include airport transfers or insurance, unlike my CAA rate. So I can't really justify all that extra cost for one more EE pass! Too bad you couldn't upgrade and choose more EE's, or purchase them seperately, or something....<sigh>
Oh well - it will still be fabulous!!
Thanks!!

i loved my stay there try to get on 4th floor 404-408 you can see the fire works from the window..probley more then that but 404 is where we were verry nice

One EE day is plenty since it's off-season & you have 4 days at the park. & remember...I'm the EE Geek. ;)

I cannot agree with you more. A mid day break is important for all ages, but especially for your group. Being a 5 min. walk away is THE WAY TO GO.

Definitely 4 day (with kids & shorter hours). Did you ask about 5 day? It might just be a couple dollars more. (Even just to spend a few hours it might be worth it if it's not much more $.)

Great Plan.....But make sure you try to see the Fireworks. (when are you coming again??) Off season, Fireworks might only be available Fri/Sat/Sun. If so, another reason to consider a 5 day package (if the $ is right), & try to "do" the fireworks on Sunday when you fly in. You'd hate to "plan" on the fireworks on Friday & have them cancelled - or have the kids worn out after a week at DLR & sleep thru them....just a thought.

Also, plan to see Aladdin Show in DCA on Wed. or Thurs. (closed mon. & tues.) your entire family will love it.

Post again prior to leaving. (for updated info) & have a great time at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

Hopefully others will offer opinions on the Camelot & on touring the park with toddlers.

Hound - thanks! Looked into the 5 day versus 4 day, and it's only $10 more pp, so we may just go that way - in case of bad weather or something, we'd hate to miss a whole day, and for an extra $40, we may want to be able to have an extra day to, as you suggested, go the night we arrive simply to get the "lay of the land" and watch the fireworks (I LOVE that idea - so much more sensible than battling tired kids who've been at the park for 4 days already!)
We intend to come back in two years, if not sooner. Sort of a "coming of age" tradition for the kids - the year each one turns 5, we head to DL! So we are looking at 2010 spring, 2011 fall, and then...who knows (depends on how many more kids we have!!!)

Thanks so much for all the suggestions - I really appreciate the time everyone takes responding to all these questions!
