Almost perfect DLR vacation

Oh man, did we hit it at a great time; I had been really worried about pre-Tinkerbell crowds, but that wasn't an issue until our last day. We arrived later Tuesday and just wandered around Downtown Disney, and then hit the parks at 10am on Wednesday.

We seriously just walked onto most of the rides we wanted to get on. On the first day we managed to ride every single thing we wanted, most of them twice. We only waited once, and that was 30ish minutes to get on RSR (without a fast pass. Seriously.) It was like that on Thursday as well. Rode everything in DL we wanted twice, took a break, and went back to hit up the favorites again.

It made Friday's crushing crowd easy to take. We didn't ride anything because of the long lines, but also didn't feel like we were missing out on anything because we'd already done it all. We went back to the hotel for most of the afternoon and then went back around 4:30...holy moly, wall to wall people and they just kept coming. We noped it out of there at 6:30, thinking DD would be better...but waits for restaurants were long (2 hours for Rainforest Cafe) so we decided on ordering room service for the first time ever.

We expected it to take a couple of hours, but figured at least we'd be comfortable while we waited. But nope, DLH's room service took less than half an hour...the poor people in line ahead of us for Rainforest were still waiting by the time we were done eating.

All in all, great time. Didn't mind the Friday crowd because of how low the levels were on Wed and Thu.

My *only* real complaint about the whole trip?

Disneyland Hotel is in serious need of better toilet paper.

I ouched all the way home. All 7 hours in the car. Owie, owie, owie :drive:

:rotfl2:

I totally agree on the toilet paper! It's like sandpaper! I also wish they had better water pressure. Glad you had a great trip!

We stayed at the GCH last year and I was shocked that the toilet paper was so horrendous. It was the worst hotel toilet paper ever. And for what you pay. Unbelievable! We will be at the DLH this year, and it's good to know that the TP is the same. I am prepared and packin' my own.

The water pressure definitely could have been better, but that's California for you. It might blast out of the tub faucet, but the shower heads all have this little plastic regulator in them. All I really cared about at the end of the day, though, was getting the sweat and old sunscreen off...and then dreaded needing the TP :lmao:

I don't know about that...maybe in SoCal where they have their water piped in, but up here our water pressure is great!

We were there this past week also - awesome trip, kind of hot when you go from temps in the 20s to the 80s!

We stayed at the BW Park Place Inn directly across the street from Disney - the rooms were okay, not fantastic but we did have an excellent shower with good pressure and the TP was dandy.

I'll type up a trip report and post later but what a super week it was! We're still feeling a bit of that Disney magic.
