As much as I loved my visit to this wonderful state, there is absolutely no place to park anywhere in California. At Disney’s Grand Californian, the parking lot had to be build on the other side of the highway. It really didn’t matter since every time we tried to park in the VGC parking lot, it was closed because it was full. So we had to park even further away in the Paradise Pier lot.
And when you finally do find a place to park in California, there’s always a fee. Fortunately,
DVC guests staying at VGC can park for free. Then when we arrived at Yosemite, there was also a fee to park even though it’s a National Park. The sad part is you have to take a bus from the parking lot in order to get anywhere in the park. Even now that we’re at the beautiful Marriott Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe, the only parking available is strictly valet!
And while parking in California is a challenge, Yosemite National Park is crazy beautiful:
The park is alive with wonder. It was another gorgeous summer day with hundreds of tourists enjoying all the beauty nature has to offer. It was such fun to hear all the different languages and accents. Campers are allowed in the park overnight and they were everywhere. It was wonderful to watch all the young campers - there were bicycles all over the place - it was great!
Well, it certainly has been an exciting vacation. We've finally arrived at our final destination, Lake Tahoe, where rest and relaxation of the only event on the schedule. And while I'll post some Lake Tahoe photos at the end of our visit to finish this report, I'm going to spend most of my remaining time on the lake and at the pool in between sipping drinks. Thank you all for your kind comments, they are greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
David
