Did anyone else think of this today with this whole Rolling Stone article thing? :lmao:

(Note: Not intended as a political thread, but feel free to profess your :lovestruc for the movie!)

Favorite quotes:

Russell Hammond: Your mom kinda freaked me out.

Russell Hammond: I'm telling secrets to the one guy you don't tell secrets to.

Russell Hammond: [upon entering William's bedroom] So... This is where the enemy sleeps.

Lester Bangs: Oh man, you made friends with 'em. See, friendship is the booze they feed you. They want you to get drunk on feeling like you belong.
William Miller: Well, it was fun.
Lester Bangs: Because they make you feel cool, and hey, I met you. You are not cool.

William Miller: I have to go home.
Penny Lane: You are home.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. Not too long ago I watched it 5 or 6 times in one weekend. Excellent, excellent movie, I recommend it to everyone.

I never remember movies well enough to make comparisons later. I saw it, but that's about what I remember. Groupies, right? Or do I have the wrong movie.

Heck we watched a movie a couple weeks ago, and 1 week later neither DH or I could remember anything about it to describe it to a friend. :rotfl:

Great movie. I can't hear Tiny Dancer without imagining the scene on the bus.

It was about the teen Rolling Stone reporter that spends several weeks with the [fictional] rock band Stillwater, then writes the story as he lived it, and they deny the whole thing. :lmao:

I know. Which is why I couldn't help but think of this yesterday.

Oh, and another quote just for you. ;)

Elaine Miller: May I speak with William, please?
Sapphire: He's not here. He's down in the bar with the band. They just got back from the radio station. Is this Maryann with the pot?... Hello?
Elaine Miller: No, this is not Maryann with the pot. This is Elaine. His mother. Could you please give him a message for me? Could you tell him to call home immediately? And could you also tell him - I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON.

:rotfl2:

Me too, and I always have to sing along now. :lovestruc

I absolutely adore this movie. Kate Hudson was great as Penny Lane, and I looooved Zooey Deschanel as the sister, and I loved Fairuza Balk and Anna Paquin's characters as well. The kid who played William was really great in "White Oleander", too.

My two favorite parts:

Penny Lane: I always tell the girls, never take it seriously, if ya never take it seriously, ya never get hurt, ya never get hurt, ya always have fun, and if you ever get lonely, just go to the record store and visit your friends.

Jeff: Some people have a hard time explaining rock 'n' roll. I don't think anyone can really explain rock 'n' roll. Maybe Pete Townshend, but that's okay. Rock 'n' roll is a lifestyle and a way of thinking... and it's not about money and popularity. Although, some money would be nice. But it's a voice that says, "Here I am... and **** you if you can't understand me." And one of these people is gonna save the world. And that means that rock 'n' roll can save the world... all of us together. And the chicks are great. But what it all comes down to is that thing. The indefinable thing when people catch something in your music.

Me too. Probably in my top 5.

Whoa! :rotfl:

 Yeah. Well it was on TV all weekend, so I kept catching it at different points. Then a friend had it on at her place, so we were watching it. Then a few people had never seen it, so we started it from the beginning.

My favorite movie! But the director's cut of it titled Untitled is even better if you can believe it. Very long, but worth it.
