Almost 3 year old-- things to do?

I'm still considering taking DS, when he'll be a few months shy of 3 (found a really good rate for a fall cruise, and you only have to pay port charges and taxes when they're under 3) on a 3 day cruise. The port is only a few hours away for us, so we could drive.

My question is: Since he's only be able to use Flounders (maybe at night when he'd normally be sleeping anyway...if I could get an appointment!) would there be enough for him to do? Would he be able to go in the older kids club if I were with him? Would he be able to go to the shows? Are there other places on the ship for him to play? What kinds of things are there in Nassau for small ones?

We traveled with friends who had a 2 3/4 year old boy on the 4 day. Our 3-year old was at the Club, and they took him into the Club for some activities. As long as the parents accompany, you can take younger kids into the Club for activities - check the Navigator to see what looks interesting. Our friend's son seemed to have a great time - he loved the shows, the pool, other family activities they had, etc. He spent some time at Flounders, but as with others who post on this board, the closer the child is to being able to be at the Club, the less attracted they seem to be to Flounders, which is geared towards the even younger set. We took my son whe he was 22 mos and again when he was 34 mos(2 mos shy of 3) He had a blast! I would definately recommend it. He just loved being on the boat & the mickey pool is the perfect depth for them. You dont have to worry about the falling into the deep end. He ejoyed the shows and of course the characters. I would definately recommend it!
