Hiya folks!
I am rapidly approaching the 180 day mark to make my ressies and I would love any and all feedback you might have!:goodvibes
Fiance and I are getting married and have cancelled our honeymoon to Italy. We have 2 wonderful children who for various reasons we couldn't take to Italy with us. We sat on that decison for a little while but it became clear that A. there will be planty of time to take vacations without the kids when they are grown and B. I am a bit of a Disney nut and can't imagine anything I would rather do. Trust me.. I think this is probably the only place people don't look at me like I'm insane when I say I cancelled Italy for Disney.
So there you have it.. Me, Hubby to be, and our kids dd 11, and ds 4.:wizard:

Here are my choices (and I am not sure about some of them so feel free to tell me I'm nuts)
Oh.. and we are on the basic dining plan...

Arrival: Chef Mickey's
Sunday:Boma
Monday:Crystal Palace breakfast
Tuesday:50's Prime time
Wednesday... this day will just be dd and I and she is an adventurous eater and has a huge interest in cooking and food so i am a little lost. We will be touring Epcot.. but I am willing to take her anywhere.. i thought maybe Chefs de france???
Thursday Spirit of Aloha
Friday Le Cellier or Tutto Italia
Saturday: 1900 Park Fare
Sunday (last day) I am at a loss.. I thought maybe Beaches and Cream:confused3

I am also wondering if I shouldn't book a sitter for one night and do a romantic dinner with Hubby to be.. just to have one night alone?

O.k... fire away Dis'ers I want your opinions:flower3:

other ideas...Coral Reef or save that for the group; Morrocco for belly dancers: Garden Grill for rotating restaurant, Teppenedo might be really fun, chef is right at your table
Thursday Spirit of Aloha
Friday Le Cellier or Tutto Italia Sounds like the night with Hubby. Drop kids at the Neverland Club at the Poly, seems to have the best space and variety for the 11yo as well as cater to the 4yo.
Saturday: 1900 Park Fare

On the basic DP you'd be out of credit by Saturday SoA is 2TS. B&C would be a good choice if the kids skip a meal with you. They can use their credits and you can order something and pay cash for those items.

Have a magical time and Congratulations!

My family liked Chef Mickeys. DS and DD liked the fact that they could go to a buffet and get what they wanted to eat. We also thought there was wonderful character interaction. When we were there it was Minnie, Mickey, Chip, Dale, and Goofy. I now understand that that the characters have changed since.

Beaches and Cream was also very good. We were given a tip to split our food with the kids because there was so much. Great tip!;)

Crystal Palace was also a breakfast buffet and there again DS and DD liked the fact they could choose there own food. Character interaction was also good. Characters we saw there were Tigger, EEyore, Piglet, and Pooh was there to greet you, but, in our case it was to see us off.:rotfl:

Park Fare was also a breakfast buffet for us. I liked this one due to the fact that there were a couple of different items on the buffet that the others didn't have. The characters we saw were Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, and Tigger. The Mad Hatter was wonderful with DD. He had us take a picture of the two of them with both there tongues sticking out of the side of their mouths. It really is a great picture.

This trip we are going to try Liberty Tree Tavern. My understanding on this is that it is served family style and there are characters there for dinner.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the feedback:)
I think I will book a sitter one night.
An dI think DD might really enjoy Teppenado! I will look into that for sure.

Heymom... I went in 98 and I think the only place I ate onsight was Liberty Tree adn we really enjoyed it:)

Is your 10 year old too old to enjoy the Neverland camp at the Polynesian? Our kids still remember the time they had there and it was such a blast for them! My husband and I went to eat dinner at Le Cellier (took monorail to Epcot)...and when we returned, they did not want to leave...they serve them dinner and they have a great time....I think that would be much more fun than a babysitter in the room! :)

Like all your choices...I would rather do breakfast at Cinderella's table in the castle than Crystal Palace...we've eat at CP twice and both times extremely disappointed...we won't give it another try....thought the first time was a fluke but it wasn't for us.

I have heard great things about Raglan Road and we ate at the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney area....it's a fun outing to go there and see the lego stores and all the other shops...we weren't so excited about Disney quest, but there is a Bippity Boppity Boutique there now that might be a hoot for your daughter, I've even seen moms get the princess treatment! Too funny!

Have a glorious time and I STRONGLY agree with you about cancelling Italy....we actually took our kids to England 2 years ago and that was one of our best trips...sure, dh and I would like to go off by ourselves but we actually have such fun seeing the world through their eyes! Perhaps having dinner at Tutto by yourselves will give you that moment in Italy! :)

Enjoy!
Tara

Would you consider the Hoop Dee Doo Review instead of the Aloha show? I have read dozens of reviews for both and The HDD has consistantly shown positive reviews, from the show to the food. I choose that show for my upcoming trip in August..my kiddies are 6, 7 and 9.

I wasn't a huge fan of The Prime Time Cafe..we went in November..and my kids just didn't get it at all..plus the service was really bad and to top off our experience with a cherry the food was horrible...we are going to try the Sci Fi for lunch instead..but both restaurants have mixed reviews.

Have fun!

Get the sitter and make a ressie at California Grill or maybe Tutto Italia for you and your husband! Then enjoy either Wishes from the Cali Grill together or Illuminations!
