For the past two years we have stayed at the French Quarter. By the way, I love that resort! :cool1: However, the next time we go my husband wants to return to the Alligator Bayou section of riverside ( stayed there when it was still Dixie Landings). Has Disney completed the refurbishment of those rooms and do the rooms now have curtains between the bath and bedroom sections? :Pinkbounc

Thanks for your replies.

Yes to both. We stayed there this Spring Break March 2005 and the rennovations appeared to be complete, our room was fresh and beautiful. It did have a curtain between the room and the bathroom sink area. Also new to the rooms were the refrigerator, coffee maker, and hair dryer. Hope that helps. We have stayed there twice and LOVED it both times. Our group is age 7 to 65 and every one of us loved it at POR AB section.

Is it true that the renovated POR rooms are now comparable to deluxe rooms (like at WL)?

I have always found the rooms at POR to be comparable to those at WL. The sq. footage is the same and the bed size is the same also . The big difference is it's proximity to MK. But, both WL and AKL, are priced lower than the other deluxes because of the room size and amenities. No queen beds, no day bed for a 5th person.
We love POR...one of our favorite resorts. We spent the last two nights of our trip last month there...in AB. The room, in bldg. 14, was wonderful. The addition of that curtain is a huge deal. It makes getting ready in the morning much easier. And my dd loved pulling it shut and playing in her 'special place' every night!!!

But then again....I actually like AllStarMusic too!!! Yes, the rooms are a bit, and only a bit, smaller than those at POR. But I love the double sinks at POR and dd has to have a pool slide now. And since we don't eat at Boatwrights in POR so much, a food court is fine. Yep, I find something good at all the resorts...each one has it's own charm.

We loved the Alligator Bayou section in April. That privacy curtain is so nice, now that my son and daughter are older we are all having to be a little more careful when we get ready each morning! We were very disappointed when we checked in and got AB, I had requested Mansions but when you check in at midnight the pickings are slim. We ended up in Building 36, room 3637 and at first I was dreading that long walk to the food court. We ended up loving that end of the resort and would actually request to be that far out again. Extremely quiet and not a far walk to the bus stop at all. The North Depot was maybe a 3 minute walk. We also loved the decor of the rooms, they are so much prettier in person than the pictures I looked at on Allears. Enjoy your stay at my new favorite resort!

Just curious, we also will be going to POR we have requested building 14 when we made the reservations. Any other pointers, besides luck, to getting a good location?

We loved staying at POR--more than once, since our boys loved it, too. But they're double beds, and deluxe resorts have queens. Each cluster of buildings has it's own quiet pool, and we've always been the only ones in it. Would stay there again, but our youngest is getting a little too tall to fit on the trundle bed.
