Alligator Bayou or Mansions

Alrighty i've decided to stay at port orleans riverside now my new question is alligator bayou or one of the mansions. My first instinct is a mansion. I'ver heard there really nice too. Also I want to be very close to the food court and main area and the bus stops. What should I do? thanx

You can "request" a section but you are not garenteed to get it. If you have five in your party then you will be in the AB section as those are the only rooms with the trudle bed.

If you are a party of 4 or less then by all means feel free to request a section but do not make it a make or break item for your trip as there is a good chance that your request will not be granted.

My DH and I stayed at the alligator bayou and loved it. The pathways were moslty shaded and the landscaping was beautiful. There are little bridges so we were always looking for fish, frogs, tadpoles, ducks, lizards. I don't remember our room number but we were a good distance from the lobby however we had a bus stop right by us and just keep drinks in our room. We walked over to the mansions and it seemed very nice but just regular mostly unshaded pathways and that florida sun whew! We requested a king bed and got it however, we were not convient to the lobby but still ended up there every day.

We stayed in the AB back in '99 and in the Acadian House Mansion last month. We really enjoyed them both but I would have to say we liked the AB better. We really enjoyed the lush fauna and the rustic look of the AB. Don't get me wrong, the Mansions are great,too.
Like the previous poster mentioned, you are not guaranteed a section, regardless of what you ask for, but it doesn't hurt to try. Building 14 of the AB is popular. We had one of the rooms in Acadian House that was probably the furthest away from the main buildings but even that was only a 6 or 7 minute walk at most.

Wherever you decide to stay, make sure you catch a performance by Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson in the River Roost Lounge. He's hilarious!
