I apologize upfront if I am missing this. I have googled and am not seeing what I need.
Adult DS’s GF is being evaluated for Celiac Disease and if positive she will need to be gluten/ wheat free. Celiac can be a life threatening disease long term and it is more than a dietary preference which is popular now.
Most QS spots with Mobile Ordering have allergy menus online.
Our December trip is 4 1/2 months away and our ADRs are made. We need to assess options, but I don’t know where to look for the menus.
Can someone direct me to next steps.
TIA

They have allergy menus there that you can look at ask your server for it. There was some site that had it not sure if they are kept up to date or not

Thank you @gap2368
But I am trying to be proactive and see if we should change some of our dinner ADRs.
I googled gluten free dairy free at WDW and looked at some menus there. One of our dinner ADRs is Homecomin’ And I don’t know if we can now do that.
Still hoping for advice now not when we dine.

My guess is most will have gluten free option as it is unfortunately becoming less uncommon Maybe someone here has eaten at a place you are going to and can let you know what options they have.

Do you know if Gluten free Dairy free at WDW is current and accurate?
Homecomin did not have much if it is. This is one we would proactively try to change, I think

The food at WDW is subject to a lot of change as the parks get ready for the events coming up, so it would be pretty hard to get an up-to-date online listing, IMO. So much promotional tie-in foods, etc. Things are changing monthly. Your best bet would be to talk to the chef at table service restaurants.

Did you check all ears.net? They usually have up-to-date menus, and I think last time I looked”Gluten Free” was a filtering option.

ETA: you might also try the allergyfreemouse.com

Enjoy your vacation!

Food allergies and intolerances are scary, but Disney does a good job with these. I found this info on Disney Parks Mom's panel at Disney Parks Mom's panel They recommend adding your food allergies to your ADR's or calling WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 to give them that info. Also when you check in for your reservation tell the hostess the allergy issues and ask to talk to the chef.

Another good resource for information about menus and food issues is the Disney Food Blog

hope this helps and that you have a great vacation

@Hopefully: Disney's own website has this page: Special Dietary Restrictions

There's a lot of information there, including some current contact info. :)
Thanks @mamabunny I had reviewed this info before posting. Plus being such a long time visitor I was aware of most of this information. As soon as the diagnosis is confirmed or denied (tomorrow Hopefully) I will call to add it to our ADR's.
It was just that I was hoping to review menus in advance for appropriateness before getting there.
Almost all the QS places on Mobile Ordering have their allergy menus online. But not the TS

That's because they can alter some of the ingredients more easily at TS compared to QS. Things can be eliminated, changed, etc. That's why we've been saying that it's good to talk to the chef :)

Yes @DisneyOma I totally understand that
And we will list the allergy on our ADR's, tell the Hostess when we check in, mention it to the waitstaff, and ask to speak to the chef if we feel it would help.
I was simply trying to get an idea while booking what restaurants may be most accommodating
I get that everywhere is likely to have something Gluten Free. Just trying to make informed choices.
I think what I want is simply not available on line in advance
Thanks for your help.

I am prepping for our September trip. Our last trip was 6 years ago, prior to the allergy menus being used. I have been told that at TS restaurants I will be given the allergy menus when I arrive. I was told look over it and regardless of if I find something that works for my son (dairy allergy) and myself (shellfish allergy) still ask for the chef. Most of the time the chefs can really work magic and make safe items not on the allergy menu. So keep that in mind and don’t let the allergy menu at TS restrict your food options. Always ask for the chef!
As far as finding TS allergy menus online ahead of time. I haven’t had much luck.

My son has several anaphylactic allergies so in the sense that we cannot afford to be exposed to the allergen it is similar to celiac as you'd want to avoid all exposure of course. In general terms our best experiences have been at Disney owned places. The Landry restaurants (like T-Rex) have always been fantastic as well. Our worst experience was at Raglan Road where he was served the allergen we told them he couldn't have - then they tried to lie about it...then admitted it and were like "oh well." There are so many new places in Disney Springs we have not tried with him and we tend not to since that happened probably 10 years ago now.

I also agree with the previous poster - he is always handed that allergen menu - but he asks to talk to the chef and we've found there is MUCH more he can have than what was on the menu - especially at buffet restaurants. Strict avoidance of gluten could be different than nut allergies however because you have "made in a facility" and "may contain" - he can eat the "made in a facility" items. If Homecoming is your biggest question mark and she does have celiac, perhaps try to call them. Sometimes I can get a sense over the phone if a place has a clue or not. Good luck!

Disney does not make the TS allergy menus available online. Nor many of the QS ones.

However, a number of fan/blog sites do gather them and make them available, sometimes combined with reviews of particular restuarants. The main caution in relying on these is that menus change and what is available for special diets can change [e.g. specific brands used, etc].

I have anaphylaxsis allergies to milk, peanut, tree nut, and seafood, plus can't have another couple things for medical reasons. So I understand your desire to have an idea of what to expect ahead of time and make some informed choices. The problem is there are limits. So, use a combo of the normal menu, what allergy menus you can find, and the online reviews you can find. Be reasonable in expectations.

We always speak with a chef (at TS)/allergy trained cast member (at QS), even if we ate at the restaurant the day before and are eating the same thing again. At Disney-owned restaurants, to be clear, that is NOT the server and NOT the cashier. Be clear when you are speaking with them that the person "has celiac disease and cannot have any gluten" so they understand it is NOT "gluten free" as a lifestyle choice -- I don't know about Disney [hopefully someone else can speak to that] but at other restaurants outside Disney the two may be handled differently -- with Celiac GF treated as an allergy with allergy handling protocols to prevent trace CC [understanding that there are no guarantees].

My favourite sites for finding allergy menus:

Gluten Free & Dairy Free at WDW: https://www.glutenfreedairyfreewdw.com/
- has menus & dining reviews; look for most recent menu for a location, but dining reviews can be informative even if they are older - I will sometimes look at ALL the dining reviews for a location I am considering
- very good FREE guide to GF DF at WDW: https://www.glutenfreedairyfreewdw.com/2019-gluten-free-dairy-free-guide-to-wdw/

Touring Plans: https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/dining/menus
- has many menus, including allergy menus; check the dates to check recency - top of menu will tell you "last updated" and sometimes "checked for accuracy on" dates

AllergyEats: https://www.allergyeats.com/disney/
- reviews of various restaurants

Allergy Free Mouse: http://www.allergyfreemouse.com/
- lots of good planning info, reviews

Alexis’s Gluten Free Adventures: https://www.alexisgfadventures.com/
- reviews often with pictures of menus

Finally, the FB group Disney Chefs Rock Food Allergies may be useful for you, not for menus but general discussion/recommendations.

I am ana milk, tn, pn, seafood. I have also had my best experiences at Disney-owned restaurants, as well as the two Landry-owed [Rainforest Cafe, which has two locations at WDW, and TREX, which has one]. By choice we just don't eat at other non-Disney locations, but YMMV.

We also always ask to speak with the chef [TS] or allergy trained cast member [QS]. IF we get push-back, we insist [I finally figured out that stating "I have multiple life-threatening food allergies and would like to talk with the chef/allergy trained cast member about ordering a safe meal" pretty much prevents or ends any pushback to get a chef/atcm]. At QS locations we also ask to see the ingredient binder and check each item we want to order ourselves.

And like your son we have found that what is on the "allergy menu" is often not all of what is available. THe QS restaurants have less flexibility, but they too may have some, especially at the hotel QS locations. Sometime an adapatation is possible that makes it doable -- e.g. no bun, no cheese, etc. But you won't know any of that without talking with the chef/atcm [well, some are obvious - make the cheeseburger a hamburger ;-) but others are not -- at Tony's for instance the normal meatballs have dairy in them, but the turkey ones were safe when we ate there which I only found out by talking with the chef -- most of the menu was off limits for milk allergy, so I had spaghetti and meatballs, but I knew that going in as dairy + italian style restaurant = severe limitations].

Thank You SO MUCH @Starwind
These are exactly the kinds of sites I was hoping for.
And Thank You too @Selket
We will speak to the chef.
You both have truly helped my frustrations. I can and have helped so many other folks through the years that not having or finding the info my own family needs was bothering me.

Glad to help.

FYI, this award-winning article may be eye-opening for you, as well as educational re: dining out. Not so much for Disney, but elsewhere. I suggest NOT reading the comments. https://www.bostonglobe.com/magazin...s-need-stop/PB6uN8NF3eLWFjXnKF5A9K/story.html
