I've been sick with SOMETHING for almost a week now, and I am SICK of it.

I haven't been to the doctor, because when I CALLED him, he said it sounded viral, and there was nothing I could take prescription-wise (being pregnant), and even if it was bacterial, he advised against antibiotics. He also advised against decongestants and expectorants. :headache:

It started as a throat tickle on Saturday.

By Sunday, I was congested with a runny nose, and tired, with itchy eyes and an itchy face. By Sunday night, I had a 101 fever (my normal is 97) which prompted calling the doctor's emergency line (he told me to take Tylenol, and call back if my fever didn't go down... Within an hour, it was back down to 97.)

On Monday, I spent the whole day in bed with a stuffy, runny nose, and same itchy eyes and face.

Tuesday, I woke up with the same stuffy, runny nose, and itchy eyes and face.

Yesterday, I woke up miserable. Dizzy and congested, runny nose, and added cough. I lost my voice by 2pm. My eyes were VERY itchy, as was my face. By the evening, I was coughing up phlegm and had a burning sensation when I coughed.

Today, I FEEL about 50% better, but I am SO itchy and have SUCH a runny nose (but with less congestion), and a hacking cough that is driving me CRAZY.

I just talked to my doctor, and he said I should try Benadryl. I just took two, nothing yet...

What does it sound like to you?

I think you are in Michigan too, and I know in my area there is a nasty upper respiratory virus going around. I've had it for two weeks, and I'm just starting to feel better.

I know you are expecting so that probably makes it tougher. I think it just kind of has to run it's course. I hope you start feeling better real soon.:thumbsup2

Mine started Sunday but I know this is my allergies. It happens every April and every year I tell myself I am going to start taking my Zyrtec in March so I do not get sick, but I always seem to forget until it is too late. I started with a tickle in my throat and by the next day, I was miserable. I have a hack, hack, hacking cough, runny nose, watery eyes, and the roof of my mouth and inside of my ears are itching LIKE CRAZY. No fever for me, which means allergies. I hope you feel better soon. I know being pregnant, your options are very limited.

Ugh, it SUCKS! I've heard that through the grapevine, but I don't know anyone who has had it!

Yeah, the fever was short lived, but there nonetheless. Today, it feels like allergies. Yesterday, not so much.

If only I could get rid of this hack, hack, hack COUGH!!!

Yep, that hacking cough definitely goes along with it. I did end up going to the dr. and he gave me a prescription cough medicine with codeine in it, which really did help, but since you are expecting, I doubt your dr. would want you to take it. It sucks being sick anyway, but especially when you're pregnant because there are a lot of things you can't take.:sad2:
