Allegiant air

This isn't true. The credit card price is built into the fare. You're given a discount if you use a debit card. I'm assuming that they have built standard credit card fees (that they must pay) into their fares and then give those back to customers who choose not to use a credit card.

I figure the money is coming out of my bank account either way, so I don't have a problem using my debit card to get the discount.

So you are paying more money if you use a credit card no matter how they make it look.

Yes, but like I said, I'm guessing that is to cover the fee that the credit card company charges the airline. Any company that accepts credit cards pays a fee to the credit card companies in order to do so. Most companies do not give customers a break for not using the credit card. If I'm given a break for choosing an alternative payment method, that's a benefit to me as a customer that most companies do not give.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. If you want a discount, use a debit card. It is equally easy/difficult/time consuming/whatever to input a debit card number online as it is a credit card number. From what I recall, Allegiant took the funds out of my bank account rather quickly, making it easy to balance my checkbook.
