Allegiant Air---not happy!

Booked airfare for Aug 18-28 back in March on Allegiant. Well today I just was double checking my itinerary and flight times and they had changed our flights---not just the times, but the DAYS! I called and was told they had moved our flights to the 19th-29th. I'm pretty angry! Our entire vacation itinerary (ADRs. park days, etc) is now also messed up, and I'm not sure where we'll even stay that last night.

Has anyone else had this happen w/ Allegiant? The agent told me I should have received an email informing me of the change, but I did not. I can't believe they can just do that.

Since the day of your flight has changed you should have the right to get a refund and book with another airline. You may be paying more (possibly a lot more).

That's the risk you take when you book with airlines like Allegiant. They typically run one flight a few days a week. A schedule change can have a dramatic impact on your trip, not to mention a real problem if your flight is cancelled.

People book Alleginat because the like the fare and are willing to accept the risks inherent in booking such an airline or don't believe people who mention said risks.

You would perform a service if you share your experience with posters who are considering Allegiant. Real life stories have more impact than posts that warn of what could happen.

I'm sorry that happened to you. That does stink!:headache:

Thanks for sharing your story. I would never think that an airline would change days, as well as flight times. Something else to think about when looking at the air fares on Allegiant.

I would do as Lewis suggested. See if you can find alternative flights on a different airline. If there is something that works for you--time and cost wise--call Allegiant and see if you are able to cancel due to the date changes.

If not, then take a deep breath, make whatever arrangements you need to and look forward to your upcoming vacation. There is no point in getting angry and frustrated. Just do what you can to make any changes necessary and realized how fortunate you are to be able to go to WDW at all. Have a great trip!:hippie:

Changing days is not typical but when you have an airline that only flys out of your city 2 or 3 times a week, it's more likely. They only have a small fleet of planes. I personally think airlines like Allegiant are risky, especially if you purchase far in advance. Here in Pittsburgh, there have been small airlines that pulled service with little notice, like we are no longer flying that route effective tomorrow. Plus if there's a problem, they don't sign over tickets to other airlines.
