All you Le Cellier lovers get your flames out

We too enjoyed Yachtsman and Le Cellier, but like everyone else has said, find it a better deal when we are on the dining plan. With that said, I have never had trouble getting an ADR at Le Cellier :confused3 Am I just lucky? I just booked an ADR for 8 people for dinner in mid June late last month.

Didn't try to get into Le Cellier this time instead went to Yatchsmen Steakhouse and OMG it blows LE Cellier away. Will probably never go back to Le Cellier with the Yatchsmen such a short walk away

Thee speaketh the truth!

I am going to Le Cellier for the first time in April. I have been to Disney more than a few times and I got this COVETED ressie. I won't throw flames as I love food prob more than the average SUMO wrestler. FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD

I have to admit, I had the best steak I've ever eaten anywhere at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Cooked just right, fork tender, it was amazing.

I like Le Cellier, and dine there more often than YS, but if asked which is better, YS wins - no contest.

HMPH. I ate at Yachtsman in December and between:

1. Waiting 45 min PAST my ADR
2. Having a server who let me sit with unfilled drinks
3. My steak being over cooked. . .

I'll take back that I'll never return, but if I ever wait like that again, I think I'd be asking for a comp.

Last trip we ate at both and loved both. Yachtsman is a higher quality steakhouse but that is also reflected in the price. If you are on the dining plan Le Cellier is a better value for 1 point, in my opinion. Yachtsman takes two points and has a dress code which can be challenging for people who are in the park all day long.
ITA with this. For me the OP is comparing apples to oranges.

I have wanted to like Le Cellier. I have had lunch there twice and it was boring. It was average and not something that stood out. I thought perhaps dinner would be better. The first time I was there I was ill and couldn't eat the cheddar soup without non-stop coughing. The pepper. The rest of the food was OK but no great.

So I figure after 3 strikes I tried one last time for dinner. It was the worst! It always took them a long to seat us for dinner both times but this last time I didn't want to miss Illuminations. It was loud, my waitress was a total loser, they cooked my meat, we missed half of Illuminations and they wanted to charge us for water even though we were on the dining plan. They refused to make anything right and now I am done. Never going again or at least for another decade.

Yachtsmans - I went once. It was nice. Better that Le Cellier but still not better than Artist Point, Jiko, California Grill or Flying Fish. However it has been awhile so next trip I will try them again. Le Cellier can go take a leap. They have had enough chances for me.

just back from the world 2/9 to 2/15

I do both restaurants, so its the best of both worlds.

Will I have to wait a long time to be seated, even with an ADR?

Never been to Le Cellier.... I want to make an ADR for our next trip but I don't want to wait a long time (more than 20 minutes) to be seated. I've read that people sometimes wait 45+ minutes after the ADR time to get seated. Maybe lunch will not be as crowded....

We hardly waited at all past ADRs during our 2009 trip (last week of Oct.) even at very popular restaurants (character meals, California Grill, Ohana, etc.). Next trip is Dec. 4-12

the only people i know who ever waited 45 minutes to be seated checked in a half hour early:rotfl2: the only place i know that could be a problem for that is the Crystal Palace.

No flames here. We tried Le Cellier on our December trip and really loved it so we made another ADR for our March trip. We haven't tried Yachtsman's yet, and we had an ADR for our arrival night in March, that was until my DFIL saw it and got scared because he just knows with the name Disney and with it being a steakhouse, it will be expensive (we do not have DDP), and since he is newly retired, he doesn't want to spend the money :sad2:. I am a little disappointed by this because DH and I wanted to try it, and I know DH and I could go off by ourselves one night to do this, but we decided to stick with the family this trip. Besides, it gives us another reason to come back to Disney again :goodvibes. I am just glad that FIL has no idea what Le Cellier is, he just thinks it is a restaurant in Canada, not that it is a steak place :rotfl:, besides, DH and I are paying for their meal (DILs have no idea) because we are going to celebrate FIL's retirement there :rolleyes1

...Outback is like an Applebee's or a Fridays or a Ruby Tuesdays...

Exactly, thus the comparison to LeCellier. It's simplistic and boring. Outback has a dish or two that might be good, but it doesn't change that it's still a basic restaurant with average food.

:rotfl2: Outback is like an Applebee's or a Fridays or a Ruby Tuesdays........i would hardly compare any of those with Le Cellier...................:rotfl2:

No, Le'Cellier is like an Outback..... I would hardly compare Outback to Applebee's or Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays. :rotfl2:

I guess that's what makes the world go round, we all have different tastes and opinions.

Perhaps we'll meet someday; then you can say you knew someone who showed up 10 minutes before their ADR at Le'Cellier and waited almost an hour to be seated (50 min). ;)

My family and I have known that for a few years now. The two restaurants can't compare. (Hence, the 1 TS credit vs. 2 TS credit).

We dine at the Yachtsman every trip. :thumbsup2

I have eaten at Le C 2 times for dinner, both times were excellent for food and service. The first time, we waited almost an hour after out 8:20 ADR to be seated, the next time we were shown right in. Both times were free dining. But it isn't the restaurants fault that we had to wait, it is the diners. Some people take a long time over their meal, some are very fast. The management can't do a dang thing about it. I will go back again, I like the whole dining in Epcot experience. I may try the Yachtsman someday, too.

Remember that a lot of the hype that causes all the extra waiting, dissapoinment, etc comes from this board. If no one ever asked or told, maybe things would be "better, like before" when ever that was.

Let's see. . .where have I waited 45 min past my ADR time for (a total of 65 min--I always show up 20 min early)?

Yachtsman
Coral Reef
Le Cellier
Les Chefs de France (was NEVER seated)

Yeah. . .Crystal Palace is not on that list--I've never waited more than 10 min for it.
