All Stars Sports Pools Heated?

Does anyone know if the pools at All Stars Sports are heated? Going in January and I'm the type of person who needs the water to be warm for it to be comfortable. We went in February a couple of years back and stayed at Old Key West, and the pool water was too cold for me to swim in. My DH and DD did, though.

All Disney pools are heated. Whether it would be warm enough for you is really the question.

We were at All Star Music from November 2-9 and it was much cooler during the week then we expected (especially the beginning/end days). While the pools may have been heated, the water was cooler then I would have liked and judging by the small number of folks in the water each day I would say that was the general consensus.

While the pools are heated, the walk to/from your hotel room is not. I've liked to use the pool/hot tub as part of my post marathon recovery and that walk can be quite chilly.

I agree with this. Heck, when I was at Coronado Springs in October for F&W, the temperature dropped a bit and the water was too cold that evening for my sister. I braved it for a bit with my nephew, but it was definitely chilly. I feel like every December when we visit, the water's always too cold for swimming.

Where I live, non-heated outdoor pools don't get much warmer than that. But... I tend to swim in them only when the air temperature is 80+.

Getting out of the Disney pools in the winter can feel like ice.

OP, have you been to WDW in January before? The weather can be pretty chilly, more so than in February, so swimming may or may not be a possibility. The last time we went in January we had to buy gloves and hats, so I would advise planning accordingly.

We've been in January and the temperatures were in the 80's. We spent a lot of time at the pool and water parks. You just have to be prepared for any temperature.

You make a good point! My brother has to heat his pool to 90+ for his wife to feel comfy swimming, because she just hangs out in it. He swims laps, and 90+ nearly gives him heatstroke.

But if you're there during a cold snap, it doesn't matter how nice 80 degree water might feel when you're in it, what matters is what it feels like getting OUT!


This last January there were huge swings of temperature during our stay. If you find a day that's nice, change your plans and SWIM if that's important to you.

And know that it CAN get cold enough that they flat out close the pools. The day this Jan when the wind chill made it 21 degrees, pools were closed.
