We have a family suite booked at ASMu Feb. 7-14 (booked in early August). My brother wants to meet us down there, but because of a recent job change, he wasn't sure he could afford the trip or get time off. He's definitely going now, but when he tried to get ASMu (reg. room) ressie last week, it was all booked. At that time, we looked on WDW web site, and saw ASMo rooms available. So he called AAA the next morning to book it, and those rooms were all taken! His agent booked him a room at POP, which is fine but may be a little harder for us to meet in the mornings, eat at foodcourt, swim, etc. together. I asked why he didn't ask for AS Sports, and he said the agent didn't offer it, and he didn't know about it. This was Friday night, and I looked online and found available rooms at Sports. When he called Monday to book, those were all gone too.
Should I be worried that all three huge All-Star resorts are completely full during what I thought would be a "less busy" time?
Has anyone had luck with a value room opening up closer to your travel date? He's checking every day.
Also, does anyone have any advice on meeting up with family members at a different resort? We'll have cell phones, but I can see it being a big nightmare. Is it possible to walk from POP to ASMu? Sorry this is so long, but as you can see, I'm stressing (probably too much, I know...)
