We are staying at ALL STAR SPORTS in March - Easter week. Last 2 years we stayed at POP. I like having the que line when waiting for the bus - no mad rush for the bus when it pulls up. Is this the same at All star s:banana: ports?

I've moved this over to the resorts board from Theme Parks.

Thanks,

Knox

Yes, the All Star resorts also have the queues for the Buses.

BTW :
All of the rooms at All Star Sports are being reurbished.
The refubishement is slated to be completed in Feb. 2008 So your room should be updated. It should be newly painted with new furniture, new bedding, new curtains, new carpet etc.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

We'll be there Dec 9 - 12. I wonder if our room will be refurb? Anyone have any late pics of the Sports?

Thanks,

Steve

we are going in June- I have SEVERAL questions, as this is our first family trip! We can ride the Express from airport- do I request this upon getting reservations? Also- I read that lines can be long to MK- how early do buses start running and how were the lines?
ANY info would be fantastic- how early do I need to book room for June 9-17? We already have airlines tickets with miles. (I booked those today!) Is is best to book tickets and room together or wait on tickets? Thanks!!!

The following link should answer alot of the questions you have.

Yes you should request the Magical Express when making your reservation. They will ask you for your flight information so have that handy. That way they know what airline you are coming in on so they can pick up your luggage for you and then deliver it to your room. It can take several hours for your luggage to arrive at your room. So dont be surprised if it is not there right away. Also if it get too late in the evening they will deliver it the next day but not right away in the morning.

I would recommend booking the room and tickets together and do them as soon as you are able to so you can get the hotel you want. Just in case they fill up.

Enjoy your trip!:thumbsup2

Thank - ALso, is this the first stop for Magical Express after leaving airport??

its also the first stop when coming back from the parks to the hotels which is GREAT for those tired sleepy kiddos at night! :woohoo:

Our Magical Express bus stopped at POP before going to All Star Sports. I can only imagine it went to the other All Stars afterward. So, maybe when it's not busy, the bus stops at all of the values. This was August 06 with maybe 10 people on the bus, around 10 pm.

Sports is our 'home' resort. We spent 24 days there this September and are headed back December 9-19th.

We had one of the refurbished rooms and it was very nice. I especially loved the headboard, it was very classy looking and the colors in the room were more subdued that before. The chairs with the table were nicely padded for comfort. A curved shower rod had been added in the bathroom area and the soap dispenser had been dispensed with in favor of the MM shampoo and soaps.

The only down side was that the storage was lessened with the new bureaus. It was not a problem for the two of us but I could see it being a minor problem to a family of 4. They had added coat hooks on one wall so you could hang up coats or pj's.

If you get to your bus stop and there is not a long line you can sit on the benches and watch for the bus to come from the AS entrance and down the lane to your bus stop so you can give your poor tootsies all the rest they need before they hit the parks.

Sports is our favorite because we are first on the bus and first off.

There is also a McD's within walking distance if you are interested.

After all of our trips there we know many of the staff and they treat us well and we try to do the same.

Have a great time!!

We just returned from Sports. We never shared a bus the whole time we were there. They were plenty of buses so we never had to wait more than five minutes. This is including leaving the park. Buses were never an issue. I also noticed at the Magic Kingdom Sports has it's own bus stop.

What building did you stay in? Was it refurb'd? Any news on the pools/closings?

Thanks,

Steve

We were in the home run section. It wasn't too far from the main building. They told me that homerun, touchdown, and surf's up were refurbished. They are supposed to all be done by February. Just a note: Touchdown section was always busy when we walked by. They have a football field in the middle of the buildings and kids and adults were ALWAYS playing ball. Even at 11:30 at night. The home run section had it's own pool. It is not the main pool, it's a little smaller.

We requested the Touchdown building. I hope we get it. My son & I both love football & hoped you could play on that field. We'll probably be the ones on that field playing late at night! Is it well lit at night? Thanks for the info!

Btw, here's some pics I found of the Sports refurb'd rooms - very nice!

Please dont be loud when playing! We were in touchdown and you could hear EVERY scream :headache: loud talking ect ect not fun when your trying to get 3 kids to sleep and they hear other kids playing and want to go join them!! I loved touchdown! We were on the first floor. I'd go back in a heartbeat even with the loud loud kids playing late at night! ;)

No, we wont be too loud or too late, but this is WDW & noisy kids having fun come with the territory. :) I hear if people want quiet they can request the Tennis building. Besides, I hear they shut the field lights off at a certain time anyways.

applesauce, sounds as if you guys need a football field room and HelenePA needs an upstairs room in the back. I do not hear well so I seldom have problems with noise. There was one time when the child next door kept slamming their room door but when I opened my door and smiled and made friends with him he was much nicer to me. I do the same magic with the skateboarders who like to use my sidewalk. :)

I hope everyone gets the room of their dreams. Mine is in the back of Touchdown with a great view of the trash containers. It is also near my car and the bus stop and that is all that matters to me.

We stayed at the POFQ in 2003 & I could hear doors slamming & toilets flushing all night. The kids were so beat from the days events they slept right through it. The grounds were nice, slide was down for repair (My son was 3 then & still remembers), & couldnt see spending the extra $$$ for a Mod this trip.
