All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Leaving for a 6 day, 5 night stay at ASMu towards the end of the month.

Our first full day in the parks we have an ADR in Epcot for 8:20 a.m. I called and the rep said we should be ok to get there in time since MK opens at 8 and therefore the buses should start running at 7. Does this sound accurate to those of you who are far more experienced than I am? I understand ASMu is a longer ride to Epcot so I'm a bit concerned. Any help is much appreciated.

We've had a pre-park hour ADR at Epcot before and we were staying at ASMu. We had no problem catching a bus before 8 and getting there on time. The hard part was not stopping to take a ton of pictures on the way in. That's one of the best parts about pre-park opening ADR's...the empty parks for great pictures.

we were on the bus every day by 7-7:15 the latest. I think they start running at like 6:30-6:45ish.

I didn't even think of that! Thank you and lamb616 for setting my mind at ease.

Ohhhh...13 more work days until my first stay at ASMu. I was watching youtube videos yesterday and am way excited. It looks like a really nice resort. I have stayed at Movies, Sports and POP and have really enjoyed all three-being able to stay at ASMu is great b/c I have a goal to eventually stay in all the resorts (in my lifetime), so one more down! Hopefully I win the lottery by the time I get to the Deluxe resorts! ;)

Happy travels to all-please post back with your ASMu resort stays with all the details. :earsboy:

Well, crud. On the other hand, I don't have to pack a bathing suit! :rotfl2:

This is why they give you a full size bath-tub and hot water. ;) Just close your eyes and pretend, you are in the world of imagination after all...

Has anyone used a griddle in an family suite? my husband thinks it would work and I'm just not sure.

an electric griddle? I don't see why it wouldn't..... in any room for that matter, not just suites.

and fart for bubbles...

Unfortunately, I am a big boy and full size bathtubs are not one size fits all.

Hi!
We go to Disney World every year but we haven't stayed at Music since '96. Do the rooms have the privacy curtain?

Thanks!
Carla

The curtains are only in Calypso and Jazz. That is unless they recently added them to the rest of the buildings.

What do people mean by 'privacy curtains'? Is this in your room or outside? I am confused. All I seem to get is that by staying in Broadway, I won't get one....

Ahhh. thanks... Going solo, that curtain isn't important to me as long as the main window has one! :) Also, I don't think I have stayed in any hotel, Disney or other, that has used that type of set up. I know I didn't have one in GF or AKL.

The main window has overlapping curtains so all should be good for you. I have a son so it makes it easier to have the curtain by the bath area because the tiny bathroom does not make it easy to change in. When I stay at ASsp I bring a tension rod and chower curtain just to have that private changing space. :thumbsup2

Okay... so I checked into ASMu today at about 10 am this morning and I was very happy to find my room was ready.

I am in Broadway Bldg 8, second floor. It's basically what I expected. It's nice and clean. Nothing extremely fancy, but comfortable and almost perfect for what I want.

My two complaints:

The layout of the buildings is a little awkward. The back buildings are a pretty far distance for food/drinks/and buses.Because of the location of my room, I have found it easier to walk through the Jazz building to get to my room.

I have a refillable mug from the dining plan. However, the cafeteria is so far from my room that I don't think I'll be using it. After a full day in the park, it's easier to just buy a soda on the way back to my room than trudge back, get the mug, go BACK to the cafeteria to save $2. There really needs to be a second small snack shop in the back of the complex.

And my second complaint, which is a biggie for me. I sit here typing this on my laptop.. My laptop is ON THE BED and I have a chair between the two beds... why? Because the bright individual who designed the rooms decided to put the internet hook up between the two beds through the nightstand. There is no excuse for having the internet hook up on the opposite side of the wall with the table. If I had known this, I would have brought my wireless router.

The beds are comfy and I have a privacy curtain. I guess they have been installed in all the rooms.. I looked in a Jazz room and they had a privacy curtain, too.

I agree with this part.

In 2007, when we were in ASMo, I would sit up at night writing, trying not to keep everyone else up. When we moved to a suite in ASMu, the internet is at the desk in the bedroom, so that was MUCH better for everyone.
