All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Calypso is the only prefered section at ASMu. Next closest buildings would be Jazz, followed by Rock and Broadway. Country is the farthest away. Hope that helps!

We were upgraded for free in September and got a family suite in Calypso. I had only reserved a standard room! They are hurting at Disney right now, so ask! You never know.

I agree! I booked a family suite and it was awesome! The staff at All Star Music were wonderful. I had a problem with wet carpets when we checked in (they had just been cleaned) and the problem was not fixed the first night so they credited me the $205 plus tax for my inconvienence. The managers were really, really professional and followed up well. I was happy with the credit and the room. The condition of the room was excellent as well! LOVED the flat screens and the two bathrooms.

Best of all, the activities by the pool and the gameroom. My kids had a blast!:cool1:

We leave in 11 more sleeps! :santa:

Are the pool activities still going on?

Thanks!

Yes at the guitar pool, I should warn you though the piano pool is being refurbished. I was a little disappointed specially since we stayed in the Rock Inn, I had asked on here ahead of time if anyone had heard if the pools were closed, but knowbody answered, or didn't know.
During the afternoon, it was around 2:00 they did a hula hoop contest, then right after they played musical dots(DS won,he was so happy)!;) Then they played music trivia and of course the music was all Disney people!

Sorry this review is a few days late, been dealing with alot, while I was gone my grandfather had a heart attack. Been helping my grandparents and have just finally had a chance to get on the computer...anyway.....
We had a great time, even though it was pretty chilly. The CM that checked us in was wonderful, at first we were going to be in the Broadway Building, but when he heard me tell DS I was sorry we weren't staying in the guitar ones, but would be close, the CM quickly spoke up and said oh would you prefer Rock Inn and though I told him I didn't want to be a bother, he checked and we got the 1st floor! DH was happy cause it was closer to lug the luggage!;)
Sat. and Sunday morning we spent most of the time at the room/hotel because I was keeping in contact with the family because of my grandfather just in case we had to go home, luckily he was fine and told me he'd be mad at me if I didn't stay.
Sunday afternoon we let the kids swim in the guitar pool as the piano one is being refurbished. Though it is heated, it was chilly to us so DH and I just watched them, I even went and bought a coffee. They played games by the pool, DS was so happy because he won a nerf ball !
We then got ready for the MVMCP, which was a blast, cold, but loved it! That will be another review in that thread.
Overall our room was comfy, clean and housekeeping made sure we had plenty of towels. Decor was nice.
We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't mind staying again one day, but think next time we may try Sports. So far though I have to say I like POP best, don't get me wrong I liked it, specially how they seem to have more room in the food court, but I just wasn't feeling it this go around(if that makes sense), maybe it was because I was worried and having a hard time having a good time.
Anyway I would recommend to anyone who wants a change, but still have a clean nice room, besides for the most part most people don't spend as much time in their room as we did;) :)
If any questions I'd be more then happy to do my best to answer.

Anyone know when it's scheduled to re-open?

guess I should have googled this before I went, not that I would have had time to change the ressies, but anywoo I found this on Southeastern Airlines vacation site:

If traveling 11/10/2008 through 11/28/2008:
The Piano Pool at All-Star Music Resort will be closed for renovations. Guests may use the Calypso feature pool or any of the other pools throught the Disney's All-Star Resorts.

Thanks for the review and hope you grand-dad's doing OK now.

Thanks for the pool update. Looks like it will be open when we arrive.

Quick, and last, question: Are there hairdryers in the room?

There are hair dryers in the rooms....man I am ready to go back now....10 more months! Have a good time for the rest of stuck waiting!

Can you walk from All Star Music to the other All Star resorts? My friend is in WDW right now and wants to know this.

Thanks! :)

Yes! It said right on our paper and the cm told me we could, he also said that you can use any of the pools or food courts at the 3 All-stars when your staying at one!:thumbsup2

Are the pool games for kids of all ages, including teenagers? My kids still like that kind of thing but they will be 16, 15 and 12 when we go. I hope they can participate.

We just returned from our trip. We had a great time at ASMusic. We stayed in a family suite, and it was really nice. Our room was very clean, and the mousekeeping did a great job. Our suite was in the Jazz Inn section on the second floor.

We were part of a Grand Gathering, and the other people in our family were in a regular room right next to our suite.

There was one day that was so cold, that they closed the pool due to inclement weather.

We ate at the food court a few times, and the food was always really good.

In the store, if you spend $30 you can get a Disney canvas bag for $10. The bag has Christmas colors on the handle and the wording is also red and green.
