All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Are there hairdryers in the rooms? I read that they had to be requested. Is that true?

I asked this as a separate thread, but should have asked here. Are there coffee-makers in the room? I thought I read answers both ways on that one.

Thanks! (and Happy Halloween!)

We were there in Jazz (standard room) and hairdryers were affixed to the wall.

I believe coffee makers are only in the family suites. And do think you have to book a moderate for a coffee maker.

We just got back from our trip. We stayed in Broadway and had 2 connecting rooms. We found the rooms clean and mousekeeping did a great job everday.
I preferred the layout here over Port Orlean Riverside. Mainly because I like that we walk through the main building and past the food court everyday. DH and I could fill our mugs with coffee every morning on our way to the parks...
The only drawback for me is again having double beds, DH and I ended up in separate beds....but they were very comfy!
I felt like we saw more of the resort than we ever did at POR.
We booked a family suite for next year on the bounceback... ..can't wait to go.
I am wondering what the size of the bed is in the bedroom..I have read, king, queen and full....can someone answer for me?
Thanks!!

Hi. So glad you had a great time. We can't wait to go in January! I have heard and seen the bed in the BR is a queen. If you look at the photos on the main DIS section, it looks like a queen, so that's what we're expecting.

My DW and DS and I were upgraded to a Family Suite in September. It was great. I believe the bed was full size though. At any rate, it was great. We booked one for our bounce back next year. Have a great time!

Our Kids loved the Food Court at the ASMu.
Huge selection of goodies and the refillable mugs came in handy!
A plus for them was the Arcade being nearby. LOL
We stayed in the Jazz section and loved it. Quiet and parking was so close as we drove in and had to unload for our christmas stay!
The Family Suites are in Calypso and Jazz. I think that preschoolers would love ASMu since the theming is done to a scale that they can recognize. I'd also think that with preschoolers, the food court layout at ASMu would be preferable to the Pepper Market where they seat you and you have to keep going back for your food. (You should probably keep in mind that, I've never been a monorail fanatic...sure, you get to the MK faster, but, EP is slower and you end up sharing a bus with several resorts for DHS and AK.)

We're DVC members and yet we've stayed at ASMu twice in recent years...it's a good resort, in my opinion.

We'll be there in 6 days. If anyone has any questions, I would be glad to find the answers while I'm there.

want to make ressie for feb 09 ....how much more room in a suite than a reg room and if you have ever stayed in a mod to compare the regular room size from value to mod :confused3
what is the max people for the suites?
thanks

I ordered a birthday cake for pick up at the food court on our first day. Does anyone know whether I could get someone from the front desk or guest services to bring it to our room while we´re out? It would be a great surprise for everyone :)

I stayed in a family suite in August and the bedroom has a queen bed. I liked the ASMu family suite MUCH better than POR for our family of 5.:thumbsup2

Not much longer to go, this week can't go fast enough for me!

My ressies are for standard room, we don't mind walking so figured we'd save a little(more for shopping)!!;)
My question is, which sections are perferred, which are standard? For those who have stayed Standard, which section did you stay in, just want to hopefully get more of a idea which section we may possibly be in.
Also, (sorry for all the questions), but can someone tell me if ASMu will be decorated for Christmas already? If so does anyone have a pic?
Thanks so much, appreciated!!:)

We stayed in building 8, Broardway, 3rd floor in the corner. It took me 7 minutes to walk to the main building. 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee in the am(walking time and getting the coffee) was a little long, so next time we are staying in a perferred room. Our room at Boardway was good, quiet and near the pool.

We ended up in the third floor of County Fair. It was LONG walk to the food court. I would pay for a preferred room next time. I didn't like being that far out (and I requested Jazz Inn beforehand)

We don't mind the walk, when we stayed at Pop, the first time we were next to the bowling pin pool, the second time we were over in the 80's on the other side of the pool, so either was on each end of the food court.
Though I see on the map that it is a little further from the food court I think DS would love the rooms with the guitars! If it makes the kids happy that's what I care about!;)

On a question I asked earlier....anyone know about the Christmas decorations? Are they up yet at ASMu and if so any pics or descriptions??
Thanks all!:)

Uh oh, that is not what I want to hear! I couldn't get preferred under the new special for our June dates and I put Jazz Inn on my request. My aunt is coming with us and she uses a cane so a long walk is not that great for her. I'll just have to hope for the best!

I am so extremely excited I got this special at ASMU for June, I get more nights for the same money.

leaving in the morning, hoping for Rock Inn for DS and for nice enough weather tomorrow where they can swim in the guitar pool before it gets chilly on Sunday.
ASMu here we come!;)
:cool1:  :santa: :yay: :dance3:

hope everyone has a great weekend! Will give my take on ASMu when I get home.:)

I am sure this has probably already been discussed but this will be our first time stay at ASMu ( our first Christmas trip!). Our last trip ( Sept. 08) we stayed in a GV at OKW so I'm trying not to have any expectations. Which room/location do you guys like best? In other words, which should I request?

We were in Calypso and that was the perfect location..near the food court, pools, main building (game room!) and parking. LOVED it! Have a great trip!
