All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

but sometimes it's difficult to wade through so much info! :)

We are staying at ASMu in sept and requested (knowing it was just that) a room in either bway or rock inn.

Our last stay was at ASMo and we had a little "coat rack" sort of set up with pegs in that room. It was so great for hanging our purses/backpacks/hats!

Are these in all/some rooms in ASMu now, too? Also I just can't seem to remember--how many drawers are in the television/storage unit and how many coat hangers generally are in the vanity area?

I know these are silly questions but we are traveling with four adults and opting to save money on a smaller room, so I am trying to map out storage as best I can before we get there :)

We've had the coat rack in both of our standard rooms at ASMu. I'm not sure about the drawers..I want to say two large drawers and a couple of shelves above them...

Here's a picture of the tv stand/drawers from when we stayed at ASMu in May. The door on the bottom right is for the mini fridge.

We also had the pegs, I think there were four of them, and if I had to guess on the hangars, I'd say there between 6 to 8 hangars, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I hope this helps!

oooh right! I forgot about the change to the dresser/entertainment center with the fridge!:thumbsup2

We booked adjudicate last year and got pixie dust by getting upgraded to the beach club. Best WDW vacation by far. Going again next month and praying for another upgrade lol!:lmao:

We were supposed to stay at asmu but when we arrived yesterday we were sprinkled with picked dust and Disney upgraded us to CBR in connecting pirate rooms with a lake view!!!! ASMU said our requests for preferred connecting rooms couldn't be granted not enough beds

Very lucky....I'm sure it will never happen to me. We always stay for between 10-14 days. There's no way they will spring for an upgrade for that long. Although, maybe I can wish....I'm thinking of a surprise trip in November just for 4 days to see the Xmas decor. If I book, I'll cross my fingers and toes. :hyper:

does anyone know how much it costs to get a mini fridge in your room and do they even do this for non preferred rooms? First time staying onsite

I read something that made it sound like all of the rooms with king size beds are handicap accessible. Is this true or are there some rooms with king beds that are not handicap accessible?

We stayed at ASmus with a king bed and it was not an accessible room.

Most...but not all.

Is there free in room wifi at all star music?

Yep. There's a card on the nightstand that explains how to connect.

I had a little trouble with dropped connections, but that was rare, and usually right around 9-10 pm. That's probably when everybody checks their mail before bedtime :lmao:

Question, Did you check in online before you arrived or did you wait to arrive for check in?

We just came back from two weeks at Music. We had a wonderful time. We got our connecting rooms and they accomodated us by giving us ground floor for our daughter who broke her foot a week before we left. I didn't request ground floor....I requested handicap bars in the shower and a shower chair. Bars are already in the shower and they delivered a shower chair before we had finished unloading the car. We were in building 8 Broadway. It was closer to the smaller pool and not much further was the larger pool and food court.

The refrigerators in the rooms do not keep things cold. According to mousekeeping they are really called coolers. You cannot adjust the temperature in them. I would not store milk or milk products in them. Since we had two rooms we had two coolers and one was colder than the other, but not much.

We really weren't in the room much since were were gone by 8 and returned earliest at 10. I know every night at 9 pm they have a movie by the pool outside the food court. The one time the kids went swimming they were showing Lemonade Mouth.

Oh and there is free wifi. It is called limited connection and after about 8 minutes we lost connection. We just reconnected and started over again. It was a pain, but so bad that I wouldn't stay there. We really didn't use the computer that much anyway, just to look up some places on google map.

We had a great time and I would definately stay there again.

I really wanted to stay at POR, but it was almost $1400 more for 2 rooms for two weeks. We did visit and ate dinner at Boatwrights and POR is absolutely beautiful! I would love to stay there, but it will have to wait until it's just the two of us. I can't justify spending that much more when we are rarely in the room. So it will be value's for us as long as we need two rooms and Music was perfect!

Just stayed at All Star Music and I found it frustrating that the rooms were tiny and ours had a mildew smell. We were there with a group so I couldn't change rooms. We were sharing an extra room with another family, but only two rooms were connecting so my family ended up in one room anyway. :(
