All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

I don't drink coffee but I have heard from many friends that the Via is pretty good. I'm sure it's much better than the Nescrape.

I've tried the Via and while the sweetened kind (Caramel) made me a little ill, the regular kind (Columbia) was surprisingly good. I'm bringing a little hot pot to heat the water.

I got the blonde roast since dh likes milder coffee. Heard it was good

I picked up a Black & Decker 'Brew & Go' for about $18USD at K-Mart. It's a single serve brewer that has its own filter and travel mug, and uses regular ground coffee. Makes around 12 ounces, I think. Gets very high rating in the reviews.
The box is about 7x7x10 ±

Come helium hockey sticks or high water, it's going in a corner of the suitcase :rotfl: And first off will be a shopping trip for coffee and real cream!
I will not be stranded at Disney without my coffee fix :stir:

I can't drink Nescacrap - it actually makes me physically ill - especially with non-dairy whitener....

:lmao::lmao: Good idea! I'm stealing it from you!!!:thumbsup2:rotfl::rotfl:

I bought the same exact one to take with me!!! I just checked and the box says it's a 15oz mug. I plan on taking a can of Maxwell House with me and getting a bottle of milk from the food court.
I like to have oatmeal quite often for breakfast and figured I could heat the water for that with this as well.

This is SO sad. I somehow forgot to check that was still the way. Now to spend my last week searching for places to get a decent cup the 2 mornings I am there.

We hate the coffee at the WDW resorts...:crazy2:

We usually leave a bit early and head to the Poly for a great Kona coffee before going to Magic Kingdom. The best ever!!!

I guess you can do it before Epcot too and just take the monorail from the Poly to Epcot after.

Thankfully day one we have breakfast at ohana so we are going there anyway. Day 2 is DHS so I'll need to see about coffee there.

At DHS try the writers stop tucked back in the corner by SciFi dine in near star tours for good coffee. I also believe there is a little coffee/food cart just outside the Ferry to MK that sells regular coffee, lates, and esspresso. It was there a couple years ago anyway.

I'll definitely look for them, thanks

We always get our coffee at the writers stop. Pretty good too!!

Wow- all this talk of good coffee, bad coffee, where to get coffee, how to make coffee, coffeepots, and hot water for coffee makes me glad i don'tdrink coffee. :lmao: One less thing to worry about before the trip...

We upgraded to a preferred room for our FD trip in November. I figure since we will have the refillable mugs, it would be nice to be close to the food court so we can make good use of them. The pool and close bus stops will be really nice, too! :wizard:

We are also in Preferred in September, it definitely helps being close. We stayed in a preferred at POR but were still rather far from the food court and barely used our mugs. Just too far to walk to get a drink.

You definitely get your $$$ worth of drinks when you stay preferred. I don't think I would walk 5 mins to get another soda, I'd rather go without or wait for the next time I head that way....

Do the rooms at All Star Music still have a curtain between the beds and bathroom/sink area?

I found some pictures that show it there but not sure how current the pictures are.

TIA

I have only stayed in a perfered room at ASMu and they did have the curtain.

I bet that's what I'm remembering, we stayed at a preferred room a few years ago and I remember it but last year I went I know I didn't stay in a preferred room but I don't recall any curtain. Hopefully someone that has stayed in a regular room will pop in here and know.

Staying in non-preferred building 8 AsMusic now and we do have the divider curtain.

We were supposed to stay at asmu but when we arrived yesterday we were sprinkled with picked dust and Disney upgraded us to CBR in connecting pirate rooms with a lake view!!!! ASMU said our requests for preferred connecting rooms couldn't be granted not enough beds
