All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

We will be here at the end of this month. I own DVC, so it's been awhile since I stayed at the All Stars, so I cannot remember what they have for toiletries. Do they have separate shampoo and conditioner or is it still the both in one???

Thanks!!

1st... Has anyone ever decorated the room they where staying in, like lil mickey mouse shaped heads or window clings? I've read it on the boards here somewhere but wondered if anyone at ASMu did, If so I would love to hear about it or see pictures. Thanks

2nd... Is there a way to order a birthday cake and have it delivered to your room?

I have decorated my room window before. I feel embarrassed to post this picture (because I have seen pictures of guests who go all out and do a much better job), but here it is nevertheless:

For the birthday cake, try contacting the Disney resort room service or the lobby concierge desk. (SOURCE: http://allears.net/pl/bdayad.htm)

Both in one, as of fall 2010. :)

PS Thank you Danielle for your wonderful help.

As far as I know, there is not currently a way to have a cake delivered to the room. If you are dining at a TS restaurant, you can place a cake order to be delivered to the table, or the food court at the resort also sells cakes. WDW Floral sells a lot of cute birthday-themed packages that can be delivered to the room, but I don't think any have cake. If you ask at the front desk or concierge desk, they can certainly send cards to the room, though. Hope that helps!

It's very confusing, because I have been told by CM's at the reservation center that parts of Jazz are preferred. :goodvibes

I was told today by a CM "who sounded to know her stuff" said Jazz was NOT preferred.

will be at ASMU Sept 29- Oct 6 :goodvibes

Jazz definitely is NOT preferred. I think the confusion may have to do with Jazz having some of the family suites.

Has anyone seen the new refillable mugs at ASMu? I've seen lots of posts about other resorts, but nothing for mine! Thanks!!

Using a discount I have booked Music for an upcoming stay, and I'm wondering if the values have coffeemakers. If not, would it be okay if I brought my mine from home to use in the room? What are the noise levels in this motel and what rooms are furthest away from the pools? Is there a quiet pool? What rooms are closest to the parking lot?

What resturants are in the Crossroads Shopping Center across from DTD? In my research it seems like it's resturant row.

This is our first visit to WDW and I'm really looking forward to it :)

Thanks

we had a coffee maker in our suite but not sure if it's only in the suites..... if not, bring your own. I brought a toaster, lol.

I stayed in the 2nd building - the Jazz Inn. The backside of it. We did not hear a PEEP from anyone the entire week. The first pool is busiest (D on the map). The quieter pool is in the back (A)

Nice map. What is Celebrity Hall?

Ya know, I've looked at that map countless times and I'd never even noticed Celbrity Hall! :lmao: I'm just guessing, but I would assume it's for special events. We never saw it, never went near it. :confused3

It's L on the map, just up and and left from the Rock Inn at the edge of the parking lot. It's just weird that it's all by itself, maybe that's where Disney puts the celebrities who are behaving badly :lmao:

I don't drink coffee, so, I'm not certain, but, I don't think the regular rooms have coffee makers. Go ahead and bring your own.

Most of the rooms aren't too far from parking. Country Fair rooms are the quietest, Rock Inn and Broadway rooms can be quiet, but, some of them are louder. There is a "quiet" pool, but, in my experience it is as loud as the main pool.

Nope, no coffee makers in the regular rooms. You can, however, get coffee in the refillable mugs in the food court.

No coffee makers in the regular rooms...only the suites. Feel free to bring your own.

The only buildings that don't have excellent access to the parking lot is Country Fair. All others are right along side the parking lot.

Noise totally depends on who your neighbours are. The only location that could have pool noise is Calypso poolside rooms. If you want quiet request a quiet location or a 3rd floor room.

One thing to note...the map is excellent but everything is much closer together than it appears. The resort is a little on the large side but the walk from front to back is only about 5 minutes.

That's what I figured. I'm thinking about requesting a 3rd floor corner room. Do you have to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs?

I did find Pete's review on the podcast (5/26/2010) and I'm a little surprised he gave it a 91/100. I'm considered a hotel snob too, so I'm glad to have listened to it.

I was shocked that Pete gave it such a good review, but after staying there twice last year I have to agree. For a value resort, it is a nice place. Rooms were comfortable (beds could have been better, but hey its a value resort), clean and well tended to by mousekeeping. The food court was excellent. Only complaint was from my wife, but that was just one breakfast. Everything else was very tasty and fresh. Busses were fine. We like the busses, so no complaint from us. I think you'll enjoy your stay. I did—twice last year.
