Hello everyone! I'm new here so I don't know if I'm doing this right but here goes lol!

We are planning a trip for next year to wdw from the UK. We were going to get a small amount of food shopping when we got there for breakfast and the like. We have been reading other forums where people say they don't like it when people use the toasters and microwaves in the food court for food not purchased from the food court and thus, we were going to take a small toaster in our suitcase... So, my question is, Is there a certain volt it needs to be? We will obviously have a travel adaptor for the plug.

TIA!

Tasha

I believe it would have to be the standard 110v for the toaster. You could pick one up when you got here though to save room in your suitcase! I bought one on our last trip for only $15 at Walmart and included it in my grocery order!

Completely agree with @WEDWDW. We've never seen evidence of that either. I would not be bringing a toaster when flying in from anywhere, especially across the pond.

The toasters and microwaves are there for guests to use. I have never heard a comment from anyone about outside food being heated in them. I have bought bagels and used the toasters. I have seen people with english muffins and white bread using the toasters. I wouldn't spend the money to buy another toaster just use what is offered in the food court and use the money for Mickey ice cream.

:welcome:

Well, some people on the internet may not like it when guests use the toasters and microwaves for their own food, but Disney sure doesn’t mind, ‘cause that’s why they put them there. :thumbsup2

So, no need to haul a toaster across the ocean, the food court toasters are there for your use.

The only time I have ever heard it complained about had a lot less to do with it being outside food and a lot more to do with the fact the group that was handing out slices of bread to its members was about 50 people so it caused a huge line so people who wanted to toast a bagel they had bought were having to wait and other food was getting cold or families were eating without the guest in line.

That sounds like The 15s and that is a WHOLE other story!lol:)

Ideally, the OP has opted to not use their own toaster in a hotel room, but just in case...Please don't. It can be a fire hazard unless you are absolutely scrupulous about cleaning it out after each use and waiting until it is completely cooled and unplugging it - every. single. time.

I have seen people use the toasters and microwaves before to use with “outside” food and no one gave it a second thought. I have never had a bad experience with other people at a QS. One more reason I love Disney.

I kinda thought that was the whole purpose of the toaster and microwave being available to guests....:confused3

I can’t say I’ve paid any great attention but I do know I’ve seen (more smelled) families making microwave popcorn more than once.

I agree with pp’s. Don’t bother bringing a toaster. Use the one that’s provided in the food courts and save yourself the trouble. If someone has an issue with it, well, that’s their problem. Not yours.

Youre totally allowed to use the toaster and microwave for "outside" food items. I see ppl do it all the time and its never an issue. I would just use the toaster in the food court to be honest. So much easier than bringing your own toaster. Although if youre going to do a grocery delivery and can get one for $15 as another poster said, that would be convenient as you could toast in the luxury of your own room. :)

Just in case you are still planning to bring one - a UK toaster will not work in the United States. The voltage and plugs are different.
I agree with the above posters - the toasters in the food court can be used by guests.

I just stayed in Pop Century, where there are signs actually encouraging the use, by guests, of toasters the food courts.
