We are going to be staying at the ASMo for the first time in October.......4 kids-2 adjoining rooms. We are not staying in a preferred room (Fantasia I think) Which would be the best building to request......considering the food court and the pools?

We stayed in Toy Story and that was really close to everything. I would think Dalmations is about the same distance. If you go for Mighty Ducks you will be very close to that pool, but a little further from the Food Court/Bus Stop. All in all, I didnt find any of it to be too far spread out. We had previously stayed at DXL and compared to that ASMO is compact.

We stayed in Dalmations last year and found it convenient to the smaller, less crowded pool, and to the food court.

I would go with Toy Story. The location is great, very close to the food court and main pool. The theming is also fantastic for kids.

We stayed at All-Star Movies Dalmations resort last year. We were very close to the second (often less crowded pool), but it was a five minute walk to get to the food courts. Toy Story is closer, and even if you don't stay there, you have to check out the immense statues of Woody and Buzz--it's like you're in Andy's room (complete with an oversized door)!! Fantasia is right near the food courts, on the opposite side of the main pool for the Movies section, but you might want to consider the noise factor. Look at a map of the resort and try to book a room away from the pool.

We've stayed at Movies twice. Both times at Toy Story - Woody.
It's close to everything. We loved it there.

We stayed in the Dalmations Bld last time and liked it. I beleive, it is the same distance as Toy Story but it is closer to the smaller pool. That can in handy when the main pool was very crowded.

I admit that I have done just about everything to get into the Toy Story Building the last 3 January trips! I have groveled and begged, faxed requests, etc. When the CM worked some "magic" and got us into Woody this Jan, we were almost crying we were so happy---the reason--our 5 yold DS loves Buzz and Woody. We were in the woody building, facing the courtyard.
That said, the Toy Story area is almost an attraction all its own. People are visiting "Andy's Room" all the time. The resort was at full capacity in Jan (MLK week) and it was noisy. People were romping in the courtyard until after 11 pm every night. If you need some quiet to get to sleep--request the back side of the Woody Building. The back side of the Buzz building has a service area --lots of beeping trucks early in the am. The back side of the Woody building seemed down right peaceful.
Another good thing--the laundry facilities, pool, and food court are very close.
ASMo is a great vlaue for the money!!!

We stayed at ASMo, TS/Woody in January and had no problem at all getting it. (I requested the TS section when I booked and faxed in my room requests.) ASMo even met all my room requests! :bounce: :D
We were on the backside of bldg 9 and I think that worked out great for us. We were close to the elevators. The view was basically a small parking lot. I think it was more of a utility parking ot or maybe for handicapped guests, as it was close. And it was surrounded by small trees and shrubs. We hardly noticed it.
The court side to Andy's Room would be busy. As Chance's Mom wrote, it really is an attraction of it's own.
But we were on the third floor, corner room, backside and it was very quiet. We were very pleased.
I am wondering if the first and second floors get a lot of noise from the turbo tiolets. ;) Those things will suck ya down from across the room! :jester:
The only downside with ASMo was the laundry facilities. Good luck if you use them. The washers and dryers are very limited in numbers.
We didn't walk around the resort, but everything seemed very convenient. Compared to CSR, ASMo is compact.

Thank you guys sooooo much for all you help and advice!!!:earsgirl:
Looks like Toy Story building is a favorite to be sure!!
Sounds like the earlier in the day I check in the better!;)
