I just booked a little romantic getaway (our first in 17 years!) for hubby and me at the All Star Movies ( I did pay for a preferred room ). I got the deal with the dining plan and have booked us at some nice places to eat. When we go as a family there are 6 of us so our dining is limited due to our budget. So this part of our trip is going to be a treat. My concern is that we are going to HATE staying at a value. We and I mean my husband had NEVER stayed below a mod. We usually stay at Old Key West in a 2 bedroom. I stayed at the POP back in Feb. and I hated it. But I was also there with a friend, and maybe it was just I was there with a friend and not a loved one (does that amke sense?) We will not be spending that much time in the room, and as for the pool, maybe just a quick dip at night. Please tell me all the good there is about the All Star Movies! THANKS! :flower:

ASMo is great - I like it anyway! And if you're not going to be there much, don't worry about not liking it :flower:

(of course, I haven't stayed in a Mod/Del. yet!)

We are also booked at the ASMo for a romantic getaway, 25th for us. :lovestruc We have stayed in deluxe and moderates and to me, I would rather take the extra money and do a nice dinner or do some holiday shopping while there. If you are not in the room that much and it is a short stay, IMHO the values are the way to go. When we stayed at the Poly and WL we had time to enjoy the surroundings, which makes it worth spending the extra. But this is an unexpected trip, so ASMo here we come :goodvibes . We have stayed here before and it was fine. Hope you have a great trip!

ASMovies can be really romantic. A thousand years ago, before my daughter was born, my wife and I stayed there right after I took the bar exam. Yes, it's a value resort so don't expect some of the niceties you'll find at a mod or deluxe. On the other hand, it is a great place to walk around; and there's a fantastic hammock just north of the main pool.

One thing to consider, the preferred buildings are not so desirable. That will put you right by the main pool which is almost never quiet. I think the quietest section is in any other building facing away from the center icons. Both Toy Story and Dalmations are pretty close to the main building. Ask for an upper floor and on the side facing away from the center.
