All Shook Up March 29-April 5

Wow! I was only asleep for 8 hours or so and look what you've gone and done in that time.

What an early morning start to your trip. Hope that the parking situation got better at Anabella.

Amazing TR and love the pictures. That DisMeet with Alison/Fran is fantastic so far. Loving all the props and food.

Man you're chugging right along! You've managed to get in most of the biggies without too much headache. I always say that you can get in most of the rides in just a couple days, the real challenge is getting to try all the great food around the resort. From what I know of your trip you seem to have gotten a balance of both.

The CM who took your picture in Walt's apartment really did you a disservice. I had to do a double take. I know what you look like, but with that round picture frame behind you I was thinking "When did she get a mullet?" :rotfl2:

Alison, hope you and Fran are having another awesome day on your road trip.

We just walked in the door. :sad2: I sat on my bed with all my pissed off kitties reading your updates on my phone because I haven't even unpacked the computer or anything else from the car.

Jill, all caught up.

Snowing? Are you serious?

Mark is drooling over your pancake breakfast.

Love the pics of the Mickey and the Magical Map Show...it looks like a lot of fun.

Awesome parade pictures.

How nice that you met someone on the tour at the park and were able to hit some attractions together.

Our oldest son also loves the Big Bang Theory (I'm not a fan); glad you got to go see a tour (and thankfully they were able to straighten out the dates).

Oooh...and I love your flower pictures too.

Welcome back!

Well, since it was snowing I decided I should just sit down and start getting the TR report done. I did get quite a few treats but I still missed some! I need another trip!

I had the mullet in the 80's. :)

Poor kitties! Hopefully they don't stay too mad at you!

And its STILL snowing! It's supposed to taper off around noon today.

The pancakes were awesome! I highly recommend them...and the bacon was GOOD!

Found you! And you thought you could stay hidden from me forever! BWAhahahahahahaha...

Ahem.

Um, hi. I've read all the way through so far and I'm enjoying the ride! Always fun to see how DL compares to WDW back east. And I know I already read about your adventures with Fran and Alison in her TR, but it looks like it was a great time!

Phew! All caught up.
Boy! When you post... you POST!

I finally went to bed around 10 and the alarm went off at 3 AM.

Yeah... but did you get any actual sleep?

I have a CLEAR pass but their lane was not open yet so I had to get in line with the unwashed masses.

Oh, the horror!

Wait.... I am one of those unwashed masses.

We flew over the Grand Canyon but I was bummed that it was still not quite light yet and cloudy so you couldn’t see anything.

I guess they should've turned the lights on...

:rolleyes1:

When I got off, I saw the most beautiful sight every….a Starbucks with no line immediately in front of me. I jumped in line...

How did you manage to jump in a line when there wasn't one?
Or did a group of ninjas storm the Starbucks just before you got to it?

then I saw the heavans open up and a light shine down upon my choice….a black Fiat 500! It was mine. OMG, that car is tiny! My big suitcase barely fit in the truck and my carryon took up the backseat but I left the car rental place in style! LOL

Did you like it?
We thought about buying one for a bit.

The room wasn’t bad. No carpet..everything is either laminate wood or tile in the bathroom.

Did you like that or hate it?
Or don't care?

I bought the pass for $285 but I will get a check from Ebates back in May for $56!

Not bad.
Provided the check comes.
Dealt with them before?

That little girl in the lower right hand corner makes my day.

I was finally seated and I ordered the Apple Granola pancakes with bacon. OMG, these were delicious! Fresh apple topping (not the canned apple pie filling!) and REAL BACON!

Wow. That looks amazing!

I had to stop and see the Club 33 sign. I was sad that it was closed for remodeling. I'll never get to see the original now.

I didn't think that you could see inside... regardless of remodeling.
Would've been interesting to see.

I was laying on my bed it when it started shaking. I thought maybe it was just a maid rolling a cart by (duh!) but after posting on Facebook, one of my California friends told me it was actually an aftershock from the big Friday night earthquake! I can now say I survived a real California earthquake! I have now added it to the one I felt in Kansas City several years ago that occurred on the New Madrid fault.

I've never felt a quake... gotta say it's not high on my list of things to do.

I took it outside to eat and was soon surrounded my cheerleaders (my own personal version of hell!)

Ironic.
My own personal version of heaven. :rolleyes1

the tour concluded with a trip inside the apartment above the firehouse.

Wow. That right there makes it worth it.

We walked through the Innoventions building and saw the Iron Man suits

Those are so cool.
For me, that's the one thing I'd really love to see.

I like this ride and the DL Yeti actually works. ;)

Does it swipe its arm at you as you pass like the WDW version is supposed to?

(Spoiler Alert: No fireworks for me this trip)

That's too bad.
I can't imagine Disney without seeing the fireworks at least once.

I got a cheeseburger, fries, and a strawberry shake along with another t-shirt as my old one is getting worn out. :)

I noticed your In N Out shirt earlier.
Never eaten there though.

Alison and I got some Starbucks, scoped out the gelato, and caught up.

"scoped out the gelato"? You ate some, too, right??

Right?

Don't let me down here lady.

I did get to see a few areas that they used for ER

DW and I saw every single episode.

Big Bang Theory

Don't know if I've seen every one... but probably pretty close.

I got Gryffindor!

 Does the hat move or anything?

Gran Torino (movie and car!)

Good movie.

We went over to the prop house where they had the original set from the coffee house from Friends.

Cool!

Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat

What are they feeding you?
Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat.
It's not your fault!

(from memory)

Fran treated us to some yummy gelato.

<phew!>

Alison and I had talked while we were planning about having dinner and asked if I wanted a Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives type of place and I said YES!

:thumbsup2

One of the bakers photobombed my picture!

Continued in the next post.

Good! Maybe you could post more pictures this time.

Kidding!

All the pictures are great! Really enjoying the TR. Thanks! :goodvibes

Holy updates girl!

Smelly cat! Joshua is going to flip when I show him this. He is a Friends fanatic. :thumbsup2

Love Johnny Reb's. Thats my old stomping ground. Looks delicious.

How cool that you met a friend on your tour and hung out all day.

Love the coral/pink nails! Is that shellac?

Welcome! I had a fantastic time. Fran and Alison are awesome ladies....I really enjoyed spending time with both of them.

Whoo hoo! I got a Pkondz breakdown!

That little girl was rockin' out to the band. She was loving the music!

I'll try to scrounge up a couple of extra pictures for you since you asked so nicely. :)

Well, I was stuck inside due to the snowstorm so I figured I better get this report going!

I knew I like that Joshua! I watched Friends religiously...it was such a great show.

Alison pointed out the bar that you used to work at when we toured Long Beach. :)

Yep, I do shellac now. Its so shiny and lasts so long...I love it.

Hi Jill,
I just found your trip report and started reading. I'm so excited to read more about your trip and see more of the awesome pictures! I've only had a chance to get through the first few posts, but when I get home from work I'll finish it up!

I'm so glad you made it back to DL! It looks like you did a lot of special things, including the Fantasmic viewing, Blue Bayou, the Tour...can't wait to keep reading.

During our trip last year, Mickey and the Magical Map was one of my favorite things. It brought tears to my eyes. I think I took about as many pictures as you did. ;)

Looking forward to reading about it all this evening, and so glad the weather is looking better today. :wave2:

Haven't read a thing yet but letting you know I'm here and marlin my spot for some plane reason tomorrow :)

Oh good...one TR I didn't have to catch up on.

I hope your snow has stopped by now. We actually had snow flurries today...unbelievable.

Welcome DLFan123! It was a fantastic trip and I really did have a lot of wonderful experiences...I haven't even gotten to the best ones yet. :)

Cynthia! I hope WDW was wonderful! I loved all the FB posts about your trip. :)

Kathy! Life is really getting in the way of this TR too! Hopefully I can get it finished up this weekend although I have a hair appointment this morning and a birthday party this afternoon. At least its not snowing today!

Jill in CO

Hi Jill!!!!! I just discovered that you started a TR! :woohoo:

I am all caught up, and I am loving it!!! I had no idea that DL had a dessert/fantasmic option! :scared1: I need to look into that for our upcoming trip so it will be so horribly crowded. Thank you!

It was so fun to see the studios tour pics and hear about it. And you reminded me about In-n-Out - it has been far too long since I lived in SF. I am totally going to take Willow there on our epic DLR road trip. Of course, it would help if she liked hamburgers... :rotfl2:

Isn't CarsLand amazing!!!??? We loved it so much.

Great report so far, Jill. Can't wait for more! :goodvibes

All caught up. Great trip so far!

How fun you spent the afternoon with that lady :)

Paper thin walls I can not tolerate.

Loved that Magical Map show, never too many pictures!

Did I read that you waited an hour for the Matterhorn?

Fun parade pictures, I only saw part of that one.

The coffee shop from Friends is totally awesome.

What a bummer about missing BBT.

Totally agree that seeing Walt's apartment is worth the price of the tour.

How were the desserts from Fantasmic?
