All Seasons travel 600.00 cheaper then Dreams ???

Hmmm... does Disney do this? I figured as soon as Disney released a sailing at the earliest booking rate, agencies would buy up a certain number of cabins for certain dates at that rate, plus some take the "group" discount and divide it between everyone to get an even lower rate. Then as Disney's pricing goes up (and how quickly it does!) they can still get you that sailing at their original rates. I could be totally wrong about all of that of course! I think I need to become a travel agent so I can understand all of this. :)

I would imagine to book these rooms must cost the T.A.. Do they have to put a deposit down as well?
I know that the rate I was quoted last week by Dreams is exactly to the penny what I can go to the DCL site and get today. They (Dreams) then gave you $75.00 reduction.
The All Seasons quote was $325 cheaper even from that price.
Maybe its just a case of buying in bulk, move the rooms, and make a smaller profit margin but with the amount of bookings they do well. I'm sure All Seasons must be making a profit cus don't think anyone does this out of the goodness of their heart
;)

This thread has been wonderful -- great first-hand information!

And D.U. is wonderful to provide these boards and participate in such an open discussion about their prices.

I just booked 4 cabins with allseastravel (Marcia has been great) and have so far been thrilled with the prices as well as the service (in fact, we are booking another cabin tomorrow). Our cruise is for the May 1, 2004 Magic and I have done a lot of research -- called a local TA, talked to AAA, checked prices with DCL, got quotes from 4 different on-line companies. The prices from allseastravel were $200-300 less than the next closest company.

Someone made the comment to watch what you are comparing in each price and I have to agree -- some prices include port taxes/fees, others do not, some include transfers, others do not. And then there is insurance.

These boards have been a wonderful source of information -- thanks to all!

The information in this posting is invaluable.....

It truly shows the great spirit of this community as well as DU's professionalism for allowing such an open discussion.

I am currently looking into our first Disney Cruise (Nov. 2004) and, right now, AllSeas.com has DU beat by about $250. If I am reading correctly, this is because of the large pre-buy of rooms that AllSeas has done.

Both travel agencies have been great and provided fast service and I wouldn't hesitate to book with either one of them (they both beat DCL's direct price).
