Hi Sandra,
There were 2 e-mails from you to Tammy sent yesterday morning (02/28) with the first one sent at 10:30 am and the second one sent at 11:50 am. Tammy's last reply was sent at 12:41 pm, less than an hour later after receiving your e-mail. Her response had nothing to do with "not getting the booking", that is not how we operate at Dreams. She was checking to ensure that you are comparing apples to apples. I saw on the All Seasons site that the prices they give for an example, are for children 12 and under, so if you have older children, the price would be different from that shown.

Our price, which is the same price that you would get by calling DCL yourself with the exception of the rebate we offer, is higher because their agency held the space at a lower Early Booking Savings tier. This is something I am working on doing now, so not only will Dreams continue to offer the best and most experienced Customer Service ;) we will offer a rebate and competitive pricing as well.

The toll-free number is so busy, you would be better to e-mail me at the reservations@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com account. I'm always here......or at least it feels that way! :)

We look forward to serving you one day and I hope that addresses your questions.
Cathy

Ok dumb question here, but where on all seasons page are you comparing your prices? All I see is rate wuote requests but no actual prices?

Hi dzneprincess- At the site allseastravel.com click on the box for your desired cruise of 3-4 or 7 night. Now find the date of your cruise and click on it, the rates you see are including taxes and port charges. They do base their rate on 2 adults and 2 children under 12. If your group is more or older, then the price will be higher then posted. Good luck cruise rate shopping.

Cathy,
Thanks for the clarification, that makes sense. I was glad to see they were $260 higher than DU for my sailing. You guys do a great job.

Since it was because of this thread that I went to All Seasons, I have to say that I got a quote for $200 cheaper than anywhere I've seen for 2 adults/1 infant, 7day in Sept. 2004. I emailed first, was very specific about the time of day I could talk on the phone thinking he would call me the next day (that's what it said on the website they would do), he called me within 20 minutes of my email, we talked for probably 30 minutes, asked if he could get me a SPR, said he would see what he could do and get back to me in a couple of days, turned out it was a couple of hours (not even) and he had everything I had asked for with a $200 price difference. Every TA I checked with quoted me $2069.31 and AST quoted me $1856.31. After talking to him I feel more than comfortable giving him my business. My telling you this is in no way bashing DU because I have our 4 day this Sept. booked with them and have absolutely no complaints. When it comes down to it, though, it's all about the money.

John,

I checked All Seasons, they have the same 3 day Wonder cruise on 7/3 for $46 +/- less. This includes the DU $75 rebate.

When I checked back with Cindy at DU, she said DU doesn't match prices.

So I find your request for those of us who have booked with DU and check All Seasons to "give DU a chance" a little odd. If DU will not match prices, what's the use?

I received the same answer from DU from Cathy - that Dreams Unlimited does not match prices. The price from All Seasons is about $500 less than Dreams for the February, 2004 cruise I'm looking into.

fyi...I did not get an actual quote from All Seasons but looked at their webiste and their quote for a family of 4 (two children) for November 2004 was $15 higher than my DU quote...

Guess it all depends on when you are going??

donnier, I think you meant me....Cathy. :)

And yes, I did tell you that we don't price match because that would come out of our agents' commissions and my agents work way too hard in providing excellent Customer Service, to do that to them.

I think you misinterpreted what John meant when he asked to contact him. He wanted to ensure that you were comparing apples to apples i.e. ages of children, with vacation protection, etc. I can see how it could be misconstrued, but just wanted to clear it up.

Cathy

"It would be great if you could give DU a chance to see if they could at least match the price - especially since they have already provided you with a quote." It looks to me like John meant there could be a possibility of price matching.

Just want to be sure everyone knows that I am very satisfied with the service of DU. I have talked with both John and Cathy via e-mail today re; my cruise quote. True, All Seasons has a better price ($46 less) on my 3 day cruise. However, the service that Cathy has provided regarding answering questions, making revisions to my booking, etc. is more than worth the $46.

Now if we were talking about hundreds of dollars, I might be considering re-booking somewhere else, for for few bucks, service counts.

:D

I would just like to point out that on the All Seasons Website it says something like
"These are the rates for the space we currently have held."
Which means they do in fact book group space when the earliest booking discounts are out.
That could be the difference in price.

I've gotta admit, I've been reading all the threads to this topic and I am TRULY AMAZED ! Here we got this Dreams Unlimited Travel agency, who actually runs this board, along with, apparently, "Administrator John" who has a "Dreams Unlimited" email address. YET John has been so unprecidently and thoroughly HONEST that he doesn't delete peoples' comments that Perhaps disparage his own Dreams Unlimited company. Amazing! This Honesty and fairness you won't find in today's travel agency business---a business infested with a few willing to go cut-rate on their commissions. I say if Dreams is $100 within the ballpark of competition...go with them : The Honest dealers...for sure. If dreams is a couple hundred more: they're gonna have to play ball and consider the business logic of cutting their $500 commission to $300 for the same amount of time on the phone ( but that is their choice). I personally charge 33% more than my competitors in my business and never cut my price. HATS OFF to an amazing / impressive board administrator John for his Integrity !

I'll second that! :)

We booked through Allseas for our cruise in May. The way they can offer such discounted rates is they prebook groups of rooms.... lots of them. So certain sailings might not be heavily discounted if they don't book a lot of rooms for those dates. But for our cruise in May, they've prebooked and sold something like 66 rooms. They have been great so far..... and believe me, I can be a pest (especially the picking of rooms)!

This wasn't intended to bash on DU.....

I was on the February 8/03 Eastern cruise that was booked through DU. About two weeks before we were leaving, I received an email from Donna saying that the price for our category had been lowered by Disney by $460 and my credit card was credited that amount the next day. I don't know of any other TAs who are able to do that. We booked again on-board for January 31, 2004 (Western) and are considering booking the February 7th Eastern to do a back to back. I called All Seasons for a quote and they are $300 cheaper for the January 31st and under $100 cheaper for the February 7th booking. I am sticking with DU because I am comfortable with their service and the value of these boards has far exceeded the few hundred dollars that I might save... and who knows, if the price goes down again, then I will get it back and possibly more from DU... just my two cents... Ultimately, whomever you book through will get you there and it will be the time of your life!!

How long does it typically take to hear back from DU on a quote request? I only emailed yesterday but am wondering what the current "wait" time is?
