Groucho, interesting comparison on the Haunted Mansion Ballroom scene. The 50mm really brings you a lot closer. FWIW (and not to take anything from Jeff's picture - his is excellent as well) that's the best picture in terms of clarity and lighting that I've seen of that scene! Excellent capture! :worship: ::yes:: :thumbsup2
Thanks! Like Gdad said, it was kind of lucky - most didn't turn out that well.

It's been at the end of the table at WDW for as long as I remember seeing it...
(The occasional hidden Mickey.) Well, I'm happy to bow to your memory. I've been to WDW many more times than DL but DL more recently, so that's probably what's in my head. I can't wait to see (and hear) the updated WDW HM! My all-time favorite ride... and I hope to better that shot and get several other keepers. We'll see...

Thanks- I went back and checked (I wish Smugmug did not strip EXIF on resized pictures...) ISO 3200 - f1.4 - 1/40 Sec
I guess lighting is currently about the same with WDW vs DL as that's awfully close to the same exposure I got.

It was only a few years ago that the lights were on brighter in HM, PotC, and a few others (2003 at least), it probably would have been easier to get the shots then but I didn't have the equipment at the time. :)

Here's today's shot... it's probably obvious where this is located. :)

Just wondering, but how is everyone getting pics on the rides like haunted mansion? I thought taking pics on these kind of rides wasnt allowed?
