All My Plus Size Sisters

Oh thank you for that review- short is my annoyance. Hello If I'm plus size I have big ****s and need length in a shirt!

You're Welcome and Me, too. Most of their shirts are longer but these aren't. I wore my Tink one with a warm up suit and it was fine for that, but not alone and after one wash , I might only wear it around the house from now on :lmao:

Anyone know where to get some really good quality but inexpensive clothing. Need some new tees for Spring and was wondering where you would get yours from?

I'll probably in the 26/28 size range. Thanx in advance for any help.

ROSS .... Its the best place to get plus size nice clothes cheap...
Most all tops are under $10 most are $8.99 and they are name brands..
Its the only place i like getting my tops...

You know that is the only item I have found to not be of the best quality. The only reason I bought the Tink one was because I got it on the clearance rack really cheap and got my discount and probably some other discount.

They really are cute though. They are also short.

Suzanne

I just checked and they don't have any Tink one's left.....I love tink! :(

Forever21.com has now launched faith 21 which is there plus size line. Now it's juniors so don't expect extended sizes. They go up to 2x, but in juniors so that's only up to a size 17. Certain stores have them in store and they have a small selection online right now. I just bought 4 dresses, leggings and a tunic for $120. They also have free shipping for orders over $75.

Have you tried:

www.qvc.com (Quacker Factory has some subtle designs, and their 3x is about 26/28. If you are tall, Make sure the length is 28" or more).

www.jms.com (Just My Size -- not really dressy, but good sporty t-shirts. Also shorts, capris.)

Ok here's my 2 cents I love LB bras but I found a great bra for my fluffy body. It's Ashley Stewarts butterfly bra. You have to see it to understand it. She has a website (ashleystewart.com). The bra has two sets of straps that hook in the back so that you don't have the "rolls". I love love it. They are a little pricey around $45 but I need support and this gives it to me without cutting into my shoulders, y'all know what I mean. Hope this helps. Oh by the way I wore my on my last wdw trip and my back never felt so good on a trip before.:cool1:

I see that someone mentioned Fashion Bug. They are a sister store of Lane Bryant, but to be honest, I've always found that their stuff doesn't last long at all and that it shrinks as soon as you wash it or gets misshapen (and starts to look like a tent).

I buy most of my stuff at Lane Bryant, which I know isn't the least expensive place to shop, but their stuff really lasts longer. (Right now I'm wearing a pair of capris that I bought 2 years ago.) I also found that their t-shirts hold their shape. I have several of them, some I've had for 2-3 years at least. These shirts are part of the Right Price Every Day line, so they don't actually go on sale. Last I checked they were around $12.99 each or sometimes 2/$25. I'm ok with paying a little more if I know it's going to last. (And it was ok when I worked there a couple years ago and got 40% off too.) We also have a Lane Bryant outlet near us to where you can sometimes get a good deal on last years styles.

Try LB for bras - I think I recently got an e-mail for a bra sale. I bought a bunch at Buy 2 get 2 about a year and a half ago and they're still holding up. (No dryer!)

They usually have this sale every July. I look forward to July so I can get new bras. Last year I bought 8 online and used a coupon, they were about $10 each after that. I also do not put them in the dryer.

When I worked there, it was January and June (and I think it's still that in my area).

Avoiding the dryer is the best tip for helping them last longer. Hand washing also helps, but really, who has the patience for that? I also buy LB panties, the ones with Spandex and those should go in the dryer either. The heat melts the spandex and causes them to wear much faster. (Another reason to never put pantyhose, trouser socks, knee highs, etc. in the dryer.)

They are out of my size right now, but it looks like it would be comfy on the back!

As much as I hate going into Walmart, I did just get a pair of jeans there for $17. I am a big LB fan, but I stick to their clearance racks. I just had to get rid of a pair of jeans that I bought around 2005 and I paid $6!!!! I loved them but after 4 years they started to rip down the crotch :sad2: I also got some great deals in Old Navy when they had the plus size stuff in the store; I did find that their tops seemed to run small, and bottoms ran a little big. Now that the plus stuff is only online, I'm hesitant to shop since I'd rather try stuff on, but it's worth a shot.
I also like FB but I agree with PPs that their stuff isn't as sturdy as LB stuff. I also like the avenue but like with LB, I mostly stick to their clearance racks. I haven't really had luck with Target; it seems like they don't always have the bigger sizes...
Catherine's does have bigger sizes but I call it the "fat old lady" store because IMO, most of their stuff is old ladyish (although I did get my wedding underpants there, LOL)- no offense of course to any fans...I've also found it to be pricy for what it is...

To tell you the truth, it's frustrating going clothes shopping lately. I've gotten bigger through the years, and now that I'm a size 18-20-22, it's really hard to find clothes that fit and are flattering.

I can't seem to find "business" clothes for work without spending $100 and up on a nice outfit, whereas when I was smaller I could find sales all the time on clothes and usually end up with an outfit for around $30-$40.

Also, the selection is just awful in some places, like Target. At my Targets around me, there is a teeny tiny section with about 3 shirts and 2 pairs of pants to choose from. And other places I find hugely "clown-like" clothes, if you know what I mean... fitting like a tent and brightly colored is NOT what plus size women are looking for!!!

This thread is great, because the suggestions have helped me find clothes that are affordable and stylish for my pooh-sized body!! Thanks everybody! :thumbsup2

If you lived in my neighborhood, I'd have you come over and go through my closet and we could work out some deal for anything you might want. I've been on Weight Watchers and all my 18-20's are getting too big. And yet, I can't afford to shop because hubby is one of those millions who were laid off this year. Pretty soon I'm going to have to pin everything.

Thanks alot, I am 35 and don't look like a "fat old lady" and neither do my clothes. This is the only place I can get clothes large enough for me. Our store has great clothes and most do NOT look like old ladies. They can be very reasonable if you join the Perks program and get their e-mails and mailings. I can go in and buy a stack of clothes and spend almost nothing and I am cheap.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's job, I hope things work out for the two of you...

On the other hand, congratulations! It's nice to know that Weight Watchers works, and it must be a great feeling to shed some of those pounds!

Honestly, if you want, we could still work out a deal if you don't mind going through the hassle of shipping, the cost on me of course!

I would be up for a "grab bag" of shirts, because I'm so low on them myself and can't seem to find anything cute!! :rotfl:

Let me know if that sounds okay to you, and we can talk - I'd love to be able to help you out, and get some new clothes in return! :woohoo:

I heard about Forever 21 and their new plus size line. Mostly thru PerezHilton.com and his comments on Kim Kardashian not wanting to promote the line or someone said she did, and she went on record saying she didn't. Anyways thanx for the suggestion but sadly I'm not a junior size (dear god, I wish tho), I'm more of a super-pooh size....lol

I shop QVC for my Christmas stuff. That lady that does Quacker Factory bugs me for some reason, the way she cuts off the hosts mid-sentence sometimes. But I do enjoy watching QVC, especially when they do In The Kitchen.

I went to the website and they are having a sale on their bras right now. $29.99 right now and the strapless ones (I didn't know they made plus-size strapless bras) are on sale for $19.99 and $29.99. But sadly not in my size. I need a DD.

I had some of their Perfect Price tees and they stood up until baby girl started pulling on them trying to climb up me. :lmao:

Oh honey, I don't think she meant to offend. I bet you look great in your clothes.

My plus-sized best friend and I are going to Smithfield, NC and their outlet mall next weekend. Lane Bryant has an outlet there, i hope we find some stuff there.

I go to Smithfield a lot, since it isn't too far from Raleigh. Do you go often?

I really am amazed that I find a lot of stuff at Walmart.

I usually can also but I was looking for shirts and all the sleeves are to short. If the rest of me is big my arms are also lol.

That is good to hear. It always breaks my heart to see those heavier girls with nothing but jeans and too small t's to wear. I was a bit heavy in highschool so I know how that feels.

I really like Dress Barn. YOu have to watch for sales (or I do, cause I'm cheap! :rotfl:) but you can get some really cute stuff. Right now my heart is broken because my very favorite shirt from there was left in the hotel when we went to FL.
