Is Maria suppossed to be dead?
Yes, Maria is "supposed" to be dead. LOL! Sorry, the question just struck me as funny. :D She died in a plane crash and Brooke, Edmund and baby Sam were on board too. As memory serves Brooke and Edmund were thrown from the wreckage on impact and Edmund was knocked unconscious. Maria had the baby and managed to hand him over to Brooke but just as Maria was about to be saved the part of the airplane she was in tumbled over the cliff. I think Edmund woke up just in time to see it happen. Her body was never recovered. Sound familiar? Brooke and Maria had switched seats so Edmund and Brooke could discuss business. So Brooke felt guilty about Maria's death.

So, does that sound about right fellow long-time viewers?! My memory ain't what it use to be and it was never that great to begin with! :p

Yup, that's what I remember.
Thanks, Mary Ellen. Lisa (IASW Rider) is our resident AMC history expert but she's busy getting ready for her wedding (this Sunday! :)) and WDW honeymoon so she's neglecting her AMC friends! ;) We'll let you slide this time, Lisa! I'm just trying to pick up the slack! :D

Anyway, I have been WORKING and have missed ALL my shows and Have a LOT of catching UP to do! No Soap channel available here where I live! AT&T cable SUCKS! Next week, I work 12-7 on Monday, and Tues 4-9 and Wed 7-4. I am off Thur-Sunday as I will be going to SAVANNAH Ga.!:o I might be able to watch the show on Tues, if I get an earlier Dental Appointment! If not, I have to leave just when the show is coming on......must invest in VCR tape!:D

Since I only listen and don't watch most days....Are Jackson, Kendell and (can't think of his name...Cameron) setting Trey up or does it just seem tha way when you listen and don't see the action....

I don't think they're on to Trey just yet. You can tell Jack and Ryan are both starting to think about it though.

Faith, honey - if you'll just PM me your snail mail address I'll send you a blank tape! :D I hate that you're missing the Smythe/duPres dysfunctional families merging. It's been hilarious! :D

I was cracking up today when Vanessa told Leo that Count duPres wasn't his father and he asked why she picked him to be his pretend dad all these years. She said because she liked the little d and big P. LOL! (Leo had mentioned the little d and big P earlier when he showed her he had the Count's address and was going to contact him.) Then she said his real father was Frank Sinatra, no, Elvis, no, Liberace. :D :D Then she started explaining how for a time Liberace was interested in women. I don't remember exactly how she said it but I was rolling! :D

Then Leo got home and was screaming that if she didn't tell him where the drug money was he was going to kill his friggin' mother. He didn't realize Greenlee's mother was there. So he tried to cover by saying it was a rap song he had stuck in his head and he started singing, "Gonna kill my friggin' mother." LOL! Mary said, "Oh, it's okay. You don't have to pretend with me. I know how terribly frustrating it must be not to be able to get your hands on your family's drug money." bahaha!

And that was just today! :D Faith - ya gotta get a tape! You're missing all the good stuff!! :D

Thanks Aprille...Listening to the Polygraph scene today seemed like everybody was trying to get Trey hooked up..didn't hear the entire scene so I wasn't sure if he did it or not...It just sounded like Ryan(can't believe I forget his name) and Jackson and Kendall were up to something....

Thanks for the fill-in. Now, do we like Maria? ;) And why is the other sister in witness protection?

Zurgswife -- If you've been only listening you may have missed a key point in the polygraph stuff. Trey slipped some kind of drug into Kendall's water just before she took the test so that she would come across as lying when she was telling the truth. Her shock and trying to prove something was wrong with the machine is how Trey got involved. Kendall had him take the test to prove the machine was broken. Well, the machine isn't broken so I guess his name isn't really Trey since that came across as a lie by him and "proof" that there's something wrong with the machine.

Kendall did mention that she didn't feel well, like a hangover, but hasn't figured out she was drugged.

Maria is a much-beloved, goody-two-shoes, saint-like character ala Ditsie. So I don't like her but everyone else on the planet does. :p And I'm really not going to like that her return will cause Edmund and Brooke to break up!

I was so happy to see Noah and Hoolia leave (again, they were very popular characters but I hated them and their sappy, mindless love story) that I don't remember why they had to join the Witness Protection Program so I looked it up on SoapCentral:
Rose Keefer was being pursued by a hit man, Grady. Rose, who had been estranged from her children, Noah and Belinda, came to Pine Valley, and put her family in immediate danger. Julia witnessed someone shoot Belinda but blocked out the assailant's identity. Finally, Julia's memory returned and she vividly recalled seeing Grady's boss, Slade, shoot Belinda. Now, Slade wanted all the Keefers dead. Julia testified against Slade in court, but now with the fear of reprisal in the air, Noah, Julia and Rose were forced to enter the Witness Protection Program. They bid a tearful farewell to Pine Valley.
If you'd like to catch up on the rest of Noah and Hoolia's inane history, check out SoapCentral - AMC History - 1990's. Start in late 1994 with Hoolia's face being horribly scarred by a falling chandelier during a tornado through her and Noah joining the WPP in 1996. At the end it should read, "And Aprille did the big ol' happy dance!" :p

Hey everyone!

Thank you all so much for your kindness and good wishes! So sorry that I haven't been around for a few days, but we missed the last 3 episodes of AMC and I wanted to have watched them before I checked in, again. We caught up last night. Has anyone noticed that the writing has been really witty, lately? I love all of those comments that Aprille quoted, above, particularly the interchanges between Mary, Leo, and Greenlee and between Kendall, Ryan, and Trey! They've really been doing a good job, lately!

Can't believe that Mateo will be temporarily re-cast, over the summer - very interesting. I hope that that doesn't become permanent - no matter how much of a brat Hayley has been lately, I do like seeing the real - life husband and wife working together!

Speaking of real - life husbands and wives, perhaps I'm in the minority, here, but to answer your question from awhile back, I would rather see Maria return than Noah and Hoolia. Even though she could also be holier-than-thou, I always liked Maria! I'm looking forward to her coming back! And I was happy to see Arlene for a few seconds yesterday, too!

Oh - the flashback to Bianca playing with her dolls and setting the house on fire WAS authentic - I definitely remember seeing it, the first time around! That Bianca was played by the same actress who played Claudia Salinger on "Party of 5", if anyone used to watch that show. I think it's so funny that she had her "mommy", "daddy", and "jack" dolls!

In the mean time, that was a great scene with Kendall, Ryan, Trey, Jack, and the polygraph machine! I was also cheering when the needle started going crazy for both of them!

I wonder who Leo's father is going to turn out to be! Roger? James Kenyon II? Duke Lavery?

Well, I'd probably better get myself moving, here. My priority today is to REMAIN CALM (I don't think that I'll do a very good job of that, but.....! :) ). I did most of my chores yesterday - picked up my dress and veil at the store, got my nails done, finished packing for WDW, got our things together for the ceremony, tomorrow, etc. So all I have to do today is get my car washed and "chill". Frank's family is coming in to town later today, so maybe we'll stop by at the hotel where they are staying to say "hi", but aside from that, I just want to relax, today. Our day is going to start very early, tomorrow - I have to be at the salon to have my hair and makeup done......at 6:30 AM! I will be thinking of all of you when we are in WDW, and I will try to check in and say "hi" on the thread (though like I said before, I apologize in advance if I don't address anyone's posts - since I don't want to read them until I've watched all 5 epsiodes after we get back!)!

Hope that all is well with all of you and hope that you're all having a great weekend! :)

 Hi, Lisa! Glad you found time to check in with us before your big day tomorrow! :) And thanks for confirming that was the original footage of Bianca setting the fire. The dolls seemed more familiar to me than the actress so I wasn't sure. LOL!

Oh, I never hated Maria as much as I do Ditsie but she did grate on my nerves on occasion. And, in case I haven't mentioned it, I'm very unhappy that her return will most likely cause Edmund and Brooke to break up. :(

Hoolia and Noah are another story though. Hated Hoolia and her constant whining. That whole scarred face storyline set the stage for my dislike of the character. Oh, poor me, I have a scar on my face so my life is over. Jeez, how shallow can you be?! I mean, she's not Erica, for crying out loud! :p

Never cared for Noah either. Probably because I read and heard from several sources what a jerk Keith Hamilton Cobb was in real life to his fans and daytime television in general and that seemed to carry over into the character of Noah. Let's just say I don't think the original brass, cocky, arrogant Noah was much of a stretch for KHC. I never bought into the "tender" Noah because I never liked the character (or actor) to begin with. He left AMC thinking (and saying!) he was too good for daytime. Ha! So what's he been doing lately? Flipping burgers at McDonald's? :p

(Sorry, Christine. I guess I dredged it all back up anyway! ;))

Happy wedding and honeymoon, Lisa! :) Send me a photo e-card from Epcot if you get the chance (there are computers to do this in the Image Works Lab as you exit Imagination) and I'll post it to this thread.

ACK! Roger crossed my mind too but that's just too disgusting to contemplate unless Roger isn't really Greenlee's dad.

Here's the latest on Mark Consuelos' exit from AMC from TVGuide Online:
CONSUELOS LEAVES AMC
Mark Consuelos, who has played All My Children's Mateo Santos since 1995, is checking out of Pine Valley. "Consuelos is leaving to pursue a movie career," says an AMC spokesperson, who could not confirm if Consuelos's exit will be permanent. Consuelos has already appeared in a few films, including the independent features The Last Place on Earth and Pride and Loyalty. Kurt Caceres, who currently appears as Conrado Gonzalez on the PBS drama American Family (where Consuelos has a recurring role), will temporarily step in to play Mateo. Caceres will first be seen on air July 3.
My interpretation of this story is that Mark's departure is permanent only if his movie career takes off. No offense but I've seen much better actors than Mark (not that Mark is bad, just not as good as some others) attempt to leave daytime to pursue a movie career only to fall flat on their face. Can anyone explain to me why Michael E Knight didn't flourish in the movies?! I wish Mark all the best but I don't think his departure will be permanent as long as the powers that be leave the door open for him at AMC and it sounds like they will.

Lisa -- Have a wonderful wedding & honeymoon!

Aprille -- Thanks so much for the fill-in on characters who may be coming back. :)

Consuelos leaving AMC for the movies is odd. I guess he feels he has to take a shot but with his wife doing so well in NY with Regis it wouldn't seem the time to go bicoastal with the family. Won't it be odd for Hayley/Kelly to have to play the part with someone who isn't her husband? Maybe she'll be leaving AMC soon too. I haven't heard her mention anything on Live.

Okay, one thing here. I can't imagine that Roger would be Leo's father. Remember that Palmer knows who Leo's real father is. He would have spilled the beans if it was Roger since Leo and Greenlee are a couple (at least I would hope so)
I think it would be cool if it were Duke Lavery. Ryan and Leo related--what a trip!

Pardon this newbie for just butting in here, but I must say I am THRILLED to find this thread here! I have been an AMC fan since I was in diapers & Erica had never been married. :D I haven't found a whole lot of AMC fans on the boards I frequent. Most of what I go to is Disney or baseball related & I've found most AMC related boards to be either dead or way too active. I set up an AMC section on my website out of pure boredom & I have a message board there for those interested. I just started it, so it's in serious need of a "pick-me-up".

I am THRILLED to see Maria coming back. I will definitely be getting screen captures of that on Monday! On the flip side, I am devastated to hear of BOTH Ryan & Leo leaving. :(

OK, done with my babble....back to your regularly scheduled thread. :D

WELCOME Dawn! Glad you found us!;) Lisa: Have a GREAT time! Aprille: As far as Conuselos, his acting SUCKS! I do NOT see him starring in ANY movie, and I predict that Kelly will leave AMC also, and stay with Regis. I am sure she is getting BIG bucks, and likes the Schedule.;) Hopefully their marriage will last thru this.:o I have to admit...I liked Maria too, especially when she and (?? name escapes me) Edmunds Brother, the Count, had a heavy S** scene! Anyway, I am getting ready to go to Savannah Ga, I leave on Thursday!:o I will be off the boards from Thurs-Sunday!:( Hope I don't miss anything!

I didn't know that Leo was leaving too :(

As for Edmund's brother, that was Dimitri.

I too have been watching AMC since I was in diapers (since it first came on) I remember lots of things from my early childhood (when I was a toddler) and later too. My mom was hooked for years, and I used to watch during the summer when I was in school. Once VCRs were in almost every home, my mom would record it. I would watch every chance I got. I still remember the originial Tad Martin, and what a pain in the neck he was. (and I'm not that old either) AMC first aired when I was only a few months old!
