I saw it too, it was a very dry kiss, TG!
So, is Chris Stamp still ON the show, or what?

I may have some amusing AMC news for you all, tomorrow - I believe that I am going to see someone from AMC in person (maybe more than one), but I've been sworn to secrecy about where, when, and how. (I think you'll all get a laugh out of it when I tell you, though!) Will let you know tomorrow, though, and will try to get pictures, too!
Have a great weekend, Everyone!![]()
AMC works to keep family man happy
by Nancy Reichardt
United Feature Syndicate
When we last talked to Vincent Irizarry it was 1997, and he had just started a three-month role as Dr. David Hayward on All My Children.
He laughs and says, And here I am now, and I have been playing this same role again since June 1998.
The actor did complete his three months and was offered a long-term contract, but he turned it down because of family obligations. How he ended up taking the role long-term is an interesting tale.
The show did appreciate the potential of this character. So they made it happen. I was living in Los Angeles with my wife and a newborn when I took the short-term role. My daughter from a previous marriage (to soap actress Signy Coleman) lived three blocks away. She panicked. She remembered when I had moved back to New York City to do Guiding Light (the role of Nick McHenry). I did that for over four years. Even though she loves New York City, she feared the separation, so I promised her I would not be gone from her for more than the three months, and that, even then, we would both travel back and forth to see each other.
He was good to his word even though he admits it was hard for an actor to turn down a contract with a wife and newborn and no job in Los Angeles.
Five months later, Judy Wilson (casting director for AMC) called to ask what could they do to make this work. They asked what if Signey worked in New York City, and then she made it happen. Judy called the casting directors of all the New York City shows to say Signy was available. And Signy ended up on Guiding Light as Annie Dutton for a year. I returned in June of 1998 and am still here.
During that time on GL Coleman met her current husband and has had another child as well. She and Irizarry now both live in New Jersey within 20 minutes of each other.
Irizarry has been front and center since he signed on, but he was surprised to learn he was to be involved in the return of Eva LaRue Callahan, who plays Dr. Maria Santos.
I have to say that I am in a place where I just cannot wait until I read the next script. I love it, he says.
