All My Children Fans Revisted!! (still loving and hating our show)

Patty - I was just yanking your chain, girl! I haven't watched the snake movie yet but it can't be as bad as the Marcy Walker movie (Sudden Terror: The Highjacking of School Bus #17) or the Finola Hughes movie (Prison of Secrets) I watched last week. Well, I guess it could be but at least it will have Jack Scalia to look at. LOL! I've been thinking about doing a TV listings review post weekly as I watch all this stuff. Even though most of it so far has been pretty bad, I'm still enjoying watching AMC stars doing something else.

Edmund and Maria were blissfully reconciled by the time of the plane crash. Maria had just learned that Maddie was Edmund's daughter but was waiting to tell him until they got home. I don't remember how Maria found out. I do remember Skye being involved in making everyone think that Dimitri was Maddie's father but I don't remember why.

As to why Dimitri and Maria slept together (GAWD - I hated this storyline!!) Edmund had ripped Sammy from Maria's arms at the airport as she was trying to run off with Sammy because Kelsie (his birth mother) had decided she wanted him back. (Kelsie later changed her mind.) Dimitri was devasted by something Erica had done (can't remember what it was now - was it that she believed Kendall that Dimitri had raped her??). Dimitri and Maria stumbled onto each other at the hunting lodge and sought comfort in each others arms. Blech! Yuck! Patooey! Then, of course, she came up pregnant (when she wasn't suppose to be able to conceive which is why they adopted Sammy) and didn't know who the father was. Edmund eventually forgave her being the understanding dolt that he is.

This is the storyline that led me to not like Maria. I don't care how devasted she was, it was no excuse to jump into her BIL's bed!

I thought the show was really good on Friday. I LOL'ed about the vulcan thing. Where in the world did THAT come from?

Not too bad of a list. I am glad that Vanessa Marcil (GH) will be there. I used to watch that show a long time ago and she was one of my faves!!

Hey Everyone!

Aprille and Patty - I think that the reason that Dimitri was mad at Erica (when he slept with Maria) was because Dr. Kinder had drugged her, and he undressed her and got in bed next to her, so that Dimitri would "catch" them. Erica hadn't had a chance to explain (much less wake up!), so Dimitri was alone and miserable in the hunting lodge......when Maria showed up crying on his door step. And if you recall, the reason that Kelsey wanted her baby (Sam) back was because she had a huge crush on Edmund and hated Maria. When she realized that giving the baby to them was bringing them closer, not making Edmund feel closer to HER, she demanded him back......right at the end of Noah and Hoolia's wedding, in fact! Those were the days, right? They sure weren't boring!

I can't believe that Leo and Vanessa are leaving the show! They are 2 of the best actors and characters on the show! Will Greenlee go back with Jake? Will they EVER resolve the Proteus storyline???? I will miss them!

Why did Greenlee have to be so mean to Simone? I'm not saying that she should love her, but after all, it took 2 to "tango" - it wasn't like Simone forced Roger to have an affair with her! I was never a big fan of Simone's, but lately I've been feeling sorry for her.

I agree that Finola Hughes has been doing an amazing job, lately - great facial expressions! The Anna and David scenes have been very good.

I also loved the scenes with Maria and the children, yesterday. Although this new Sammy cannot act! I can't believe how rough everyone is being on Brooke, either. When Maddie asked to see her at the hospital, I was thinking "I wonder if Brooke is going to show up and then Maddie will slap her, too?! Then Sammy.....then Maria......."! Maria should tell everyone to give Brooke a break, herself. If it wasn't for Brooke, she never would have been reunited with her family. If they all continue being so rude to her, she should just storm out of the hospital and let them (Edmund, Maria, Mateo) explain to the kids why she left and why she won't be a part of their lives in the future - she doesn't need to take that kind of abuse from all of them! I'm glad that Maria is back, and I love seeing her reunited with her family......but I can't stand how mean everyone is being to Brooke, and how Brooke is backing down and accepting the full blame for keeping Maria secret. I loved Aidan and his Vulcan death grip, too - I'm really starting to like him, now that they're giving him more to do than just construct Erica's penthouse! I also like that Maria wants him to stay with her, even when Edmund is in the room. It serves Edmund right for being so mean to Brooke. Actually, it would REALLY serve him right if Maria never got her memory back, claimed custody of her children, then went and married Aidan! Then he would try to go back to Brooke, and she would already be with someone else!

I wish that I could get one of those PV jobs, where you don't work but make a lot of money, have a big fancy house, and never worry about anything! How do the following people support themselves??

- Mia (Does Adam give her an allowance?)
- Simone (Besides the allowance from her Daddy)
- Trey (I've never seen any of his clients pay him)
- Leo (I guess he shares Greenlee's paychecks?)
- Aidan (How much could Chris be paying him??)
- Chris (Does he officially work for the PVPD? For the FBI or CIA? Or does he still work for Erica???)
- Maggie (all we've ever seen her do is volunteer at the hospital - is David paying for her hotel room?)

We know what Liza and Tad do.....but we never see them go to work!

Anyway, I want to move to PV, where you don't have to have education, background, or experience to get a fantastic job.....then once you have it, you never have to go there, but still make tons of money!

Ahh, yes. I think you're right, Lisa. How could I forget about Kinder drugging Erica and setting it up to look like they had gone to bed together?! Still no excuse for Dimitri to bed his brother's wife!! I also forgot about Kelsey having the hots for Edmund. I guess I hated Maria and Dimitri sleeping together so much I've blocked out much of what happened leading up to it! LOL!

Lisa - There's a thread over on PVB that discusses the actor who plays Sammy and his very aggressive stage mother. It sheds some light on his poor acting skills - like maybe he doesn't really want to be acting - his mother wants him to! Here's a link to the thread: PVB thread - Sam and Maddie

Was anyone else reminded of the movie Misery during the Aidan/David scenes today?! OMG! When Aiden brought out the sledge hammer all I could think about was that "hobbling" scene. :::shiver::: I still get the willies thinking about that! David looked good and scared too. Serves him right! hehe! I loved it!

Thanks for the list, however, I do not see Maurice Bernard on there!! I hope he is going, or I will be very UPSET! I would like to at least "SEE" him from a distance, cause if I get any closer, I will make a complete A** out of myself! Oh, and thanks for the explanation of the Maria/Dimitri episode. I had forgot about most of that, although I do remember they slept together! Yep, I lost a LOT of respect for Maria after that!

Thanks for the link to the PVB thread about Sam and Maddie, Aprille. I have to say that I agree with most of what was said there about Sam. It was an interesting read.

Today's show---just how many people know that Vanessa is Trey's mother now? Last time I looked only Leo, Greenlee, and David knew about it. Now today Trey is demanding Joe to tell him where his mother is! And he says the same thing to Chris. The strange thing to me is that neither one of them said "Vanessa Cortlandt is your mother??!!

I went to see the movie City by the Sea with Robert DeNiro yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to see Matthew Cowles (ex-Billy Clyde Tuggle) in a small speaking role. He was the owner of a diner in a run down area. He still has the mustache but the handlebars were shaved off. He had long hair tied in a ponytail with a few rubber bands down the length to keep it “tight”. He didn’t have the southern drawl since the diner was located in Long Beach, NY. LOL! It was great fun to see him!

I thought the movie was pretty good. It was set in New York City and Long Beach and was obviously filmed before 9/11 last year because there were several shots of the WTC towers in the background. It was eerie to see but I was glad they didn’t try to edit it out. DeNiro’s character’s apartment had a view of the towers and the first time we see him he is staring out the window at the towers in the rain in the middle of the night. It took my breath away. The towers were also in the background of a crime scene and were shown in glimpses a few other times during the movie.

BTW, for anyone familiar with Long Beach, NY, is it really as run down as it was portrayed in this movie?

My local ABC station breaks away for everything!! I can understand big events like today, but yesterday they pre-empted AMC because of a grass fire in the area that ended up burning 15 acres-No houses, cars, people involved, just a small 15 acre brush fire. I guess I'm insensitive, but it was a little annoying. Does anyone want to fill me in on yesterday, since I know today is preempted. (With good reason, I might add.)

I know what you mean about those pre-emptions, pnelson. When our abc station got their new weather equipment they interrupted all the time...just to tell us it MIGHT rain hard! UGH!!!

I'll try and give you a recap!

Leo & Greenlee got busted for getting intimate in front of a church. The officer of the court was the same guy who married David & Anna. Leo talked their way out. Nothing significant here, just more Leo I love you Greens. Blah, blah, blah

Maggie & Bianca-Maggie was packing to leave town. Binks tried to talk her out of it, called Tim to help, Maggie busted her calling Tim and got all weird again. (Is Maggie gay or not?) In the end Maggie is going to stay!

Kendall & JR-Lots of weird sexual tension here. HE brought her roses, she was polite to him and at the end they were kissing again.

Tad & Edmund-Tad was telling Eddumb to be more forgiving and listed off all Ed-dumbs faults that he has been forgiven for. Brooke decides to leave town, new-Jaime is upset by that. She leaves at the end crying.

Did I miss anything? anyone?????

Patty - I can't fill in too much because AMC was not only interrupted by ABC News for 20 minutes of the last half hour but also earlier in the show for a local breaking story! ARGH!!

In addition to what Pembo has recapped, there was a very touching scene with Brooke and Jamie that I got to see. Jamie caught Brooke packing a bag and asked if she was leaving. He told her that JR's mom had left and not come back. He also told her he heard her telling Tad that she didn't deserve to live. Brooke assured him she wouldn't do anything to harm herself and that she would come back to him.

For anyone who misses it today, A&E reruns The View the next day at noon and 6pm (ET) so you can catch today's episode tomorrow (Fri - 9/13).

I have my VCR set up to record it this morning. I can't stand The View so want to be able to FF to Eva and John without suffering through the rest of the show.

David confronted Anna aobut her pregnancy and begged for another chance. Maria feared she might not want to return to the life she shared with Edmund even if she did eventually remember it. Kendall voice her suspicions about Trey to Greenlee, who shocked her with the revelation that he's Vanessa's son. After forcing Erica to admit she never got over being abandoned by her father, Chris made a call requesting information about Eric Kane.

WAIT TO SEE...Kendall turns to Bianca for help. Leo and trey find a clue to Vanessa's fortune.

Okay, I've about decided that The View is not worth watching even when they have guests on I want to see. Meredith called John a horse's @$$ on the show yesterday!! Seriously! I couldn't believe it. Eva was telling a story about John promising her a horse if she came back to AMC. John told her he doesn't remember saying that. Then Meredith said to Eva, "Well, you've already got the horse's @$$." Then she went over and high-fived Eva. I thought it was beyond tacky for a host to insult a guest like that!!

Eva and John were cute together (they're so sweet it made my teeth hurt ) but I can't take the annoying hosts of this show anymore!! ARGH!

For anyone trying to catch the reruns today on A&E, John and Eva don't come on until at least 45 minutes into the show so you might want to wait to tune in until then.
