If you have your heart set on a particular complex or sized apartment, you want to be there before 8.

Oh yea. Are u checking out before u leave for checkin? Or r u gonna check out after? Because i heard checkout is 11a.m. but other are saying that casting is anywhere between 2-4 hours. I don't know if I should just checkout in the morning and walk down to checkin with all my luggage, or leave it here and and checkout when i get back to the vista apartment from casting, hoping i can get back by 10:45a.m. I dont know what to do because I don't have no car, and no other transportation.

In my opinion, I would check out before you go check-in for your program. My roommates were at checkin before 8am. We were part of the first group to leave for casting and that was around 10am. We all got to casting around 10:30ish. I was part of the first batch to leave to go back to Vista around 1:30ish.

There is a bus that will take you (and any other castmembers & there usually are others) right to the SS office. You don't have to wait in line they take CP's right in. The card is sent to casting & they call you when they get it.
When DS went there were at least 10-15 other kids.

We were in line @ 6:30am and there were at least 20-25 kids already there. I would get there early if you have a preferance for where you want to live etc.

thanks DisneyFirefly! we got sweat proof sunblock - having a problem with the sunglasses though. I work for an opthalmologist and the good UV ones that we recommend doesn't allow you to see the eyes

you are exactly right ! today i took the bus to the ss office and everything is fine.

The not clean must be a recurring theme. My daughter did the CP three years ago and she stayed for the second semester. She had to move and was told it was so they could clean her apt before new kids came in...really irritating but whatever...so we left her really clean apt and moved her to a new one and it was beyond disgusting. One room had shredded paper piled up in it all over, the living room had all sorts of uneaten food on plates. It was really bad.

I am the farthest thing from a neat freak, clean freak etc but we took care to make sure we left her apt in great condition and the one she moved to was terrible.

I will have to totally agree with the cleanliness issue. They checked in today, got Vista Way (it was their only choice for Career Start) and the room was really bad. We had heard about this before so I was mentally prepared for it but still it was disgusting. We cleaned and wiped down the bathroom and bedroom and it is probably cleaner than it has been in a while.

It was disappointing to learn that Vista Way was the only choice for the CS kids today...I know a lot of them were hoping for one of the other two. Oh well.

We did arrive early and my daughter's roommate was actually first in line so it had no bearing on the location...it was only vista.

They finished early, she was done with casting before noon and then had a housing meeting at 2:45 which they just finished with now.

Busy but fun day.
